I miss China and Beijing so much! I lived there in 2019 and 2020 and left due to covid but I think about it every day and want to go back so much! Thank you for your vlogs it makes me feel for a while like I am back there. 😍

Are there salons that do black women's hair there? Perhaps if you'd like to get your hair braided? I'm thinking of going to teach English in China after graduating but I'm worried about the hair care aspect because I'm used to getting my hair done every month.

Leaving your purse like that makes me nervous even just watching. What if there is a one in ten thousand chance of getting your phone....and your virtual ID lost? It´s hard to comprehend China can be this safe....that said, I see that you are living a life most of us in the US cannot at a regular basis. 😃 I haven't been to a restaurant for 3 months! Too expensive!
Ppl leaving their cell phones and bags places is something that took me a very long time to get used to. But because there are cameras and security guards everywhere- I think if someone stole your things, they would get caught very quickly.
And I know when I get back to the US I will not be eating out either cus it’s too much money!!! Does Applebees still do 2 for $20?
@@AleeseLightyear I haven't been to Applebee's a long time but I looked up their website. It's now 2 for $24 with a disclaimer that item availability and price may vary by location, so that means $24 is the minimum 😃

Hi there. What about air quality issues in Beijing? Is it true that the schools are closed every other day in there?

School is never closed...even when the pollution is bad.

In terms of access of hair products, it really depends on where you are. First tier cities (or at least Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing) you can find it. Wechat groups? Yes. E-commerce like Taobao? At your own risk. I wouldn't say its easy but its not impossible. To avoid the hassle I still prefer bringing what I can from home.
Taobao/ Wechat sellers ship just everywhere in China. Of course the brands and products are limited, that comes with the territory. I would prefer to bring my fave products from home too, but I don't need to explain why I haven't been home in 4 years.
Great vlog. Also looks like China has less pickpockets now for people to be leaving their bags out like that. 10 years ago it would have been gone in like 10 seconds 🤣
