Agreed!
You are hilarious! I can relate to too much of this.
Girl, do your pole thang! I had a smile on my face throughout this video. You are living and loving your life in Chengdu. So happy for you!
Chengdu is in my list! That live house is my kind of place, good singing and good people! Absolutely love pandas! You and your friends really know how to enjoy yourselves.
You're an awesome teacher! I can see how much your students love you especially the young man who shared the song.
Just discovered your channel today. I love it! Great personality and storytelling. I left the US in 2008 the say way you did, Google search for a job related to travel. I see teaching still comes up. I started in South Korea in the EPIK program and now live in Hong Kong since 2011. I agree with your assessment about the safety in China especially for single women. It has been great! I'm looking forward to viewing more of your content. Cheers!
Amazing content. Thank you ❤
You totally use that one student's songs in your videos 😂.
it's convenient to the point that you feel you're going back in time when you travel almost anywhere else. Having to still bring your wallet when you're out and about is not what's up 😂.
You are quite a rude person, the people who showed you these places are probably thinking why did I put in this effort to show this person around.
🤔🤔
I definitely recommend a translator if you are not from Beijing as you travel. Immersive translate is great for that
Thanks for such an interesting video, Aleese. How did you get back to Beijing after the night tour? From what I understand all the public transport - trains and busses - stop running in the afternoon/early evening.
Hey!!! first time watching your channel! I love the vibes of your apartment , hahaha I agree with your mom the lime green does give it character !!!
Great content. I think it's same everywhere. People are getting lonelier than ever, many don't have one single close friend. Like you said, it gets harder when you are older to make new friends. "Friends" in the adult world, is more like "what can I get from you? Will you be any use to me in the near future? Are you attractive enough to be my friend?". As we are getting older, we also better able to see through people's BS, and realize how few good people are out there. Finding social connections is beneficial but learning to be ok and happy by yourself is just as important. Easier said than done. Loneliness feels even stronger when you are in another country. Over a decade in the states, still feeling the same way. Life is too short to be wasting in a place where we don't feel happy. Sometimes our unhappiness is trying to tell us something. China and America are actually very similar in many areas. People in both countries worship money above everything else. They are both very discriminative towards racial minorities. It's just that Chinese don't usually show it and often it's just ignorance, where as in America they will show it both directly, indirectly, and aggressively. Also as an Chinese we were always taught to welcome foreigners, so most people will be friendly towards foreigners even if it's just fake nice. They are often nicer to foreigners than their own people. However in America foreigners/racial minorities are viewed as inferior and that we should be so grateful that they even let you visit. China of course is a lot safer and cheaper. Unfortunately, both countries are not great for making new friends, even as a Chinese. Having lived in many countries, I also don't believe different race mix well together anymore. The close friends we ever had, tend to be of the same race. I find most interracial friendships/relationship are very shallow and ungenuine. Although we live in a globalized world, but people often would rather focus on our differences (skin color, weight, racial characteristics) than our similarities (the desire for companions and love). Good luck!
chengdu is so beautiful 🙏💗😭 i want to work there for a bit once i finish my degree, so i appreciate vlogs like these that show life there 💓🥺
Wish it was longer plz make more videos about life in china
Chengdu is the place I wanna be!
What advice do you have for younger people wanting to move to China?
Hi dear Aleese ,you are doing great! Its Sumaira from Pakistan. I'm good at English but not that fluent.I'm being teaching since last 20 years. Can I apply for teaching job ?plz must reply.
Your videos give me so much joy! Thank you! Still on my bucket list , China and your videos help me IMMENSELY, with destination choices and everything else! I am back tracking your videos, I missed a few ! Much love from the HOT HUMID CRAZY USA! 🥰
You make a great video. I love it!
Love the tour it makes me wanna cry how beautiful it is. 🫰🏽🥹🌼
dam, comparing prices to Taobao, nice
You r, by far, 1 of the most grounded, kind, relatable foreigners to make a video about China, fr. Positive vibez for days. I have watched many China travel vlogs and this one hit different right from the jump. Props 2 u.
I can't figure out how to shop on that site
did you force yourself to take time to learn some chinese?
Aleese, I heard that nearly 1.4% of American people have peanut allergy. However, Chinese people almost don't have peanut allergy at all. Chinese food is not labeled with allergens, so be sure to bring that to the attention of your friends! My Japanese friend was allergic to congee in China because she was allergic to shrimp skin, but she didn't see it in the congee cause we use it to get the flavor.
I’m in the USA 🇺🇸 I’m 6 months pregnant looking to have my baby in China 🇨🇳 where do I start?
Actually, you need pass a examination to get a teacher certificate before teaching if you are a Chinese. It seems more easy for the English native speakers to get the job.😊
Back to Beijing?
Hey, great video. Would love to learn more about how you take care of yourself as a Black woman. Ex: hair, skin, clothes, and health. Just wondering how you navigate those things.
I see: Nia Long, in your face.
haaaaa really? NEVER heard that before!
@@AleeseLightyear It's there.
I can't see any attraction in Beijing. I don't identify ot with anything. I'm sure I'm wrong but I'm afraid I'd be bored.
That's fine, it's not for everyone
@@AleeseLightyearHi Aleese, thanks for reading my comment and also for posting your video. Beijing a gap for me. I don't have imagery for it like I do for London, NYC, Tokyo, or Rio say. As a country mouse cities have to work hard to attract me.
Do you have family
Not in China
You are amazing
Hi Aleese, I would like to know if it's a good idea to travel to Chine during summer ( July or August?) I would like to visit Beijing, Shangai and Hong Kong. I am planning this trip for next year lol kinda early lol !!!
Yes totally fine to travel to China during that time! But mind you it's HOT! And school is out so places tend to be a bit more crowded
Real about trying to figure out what's NEXT!
Thank you love your channel 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
NAP TIME??? Girl I will sleep any and everywhere lol
hahah then you would love it!
Girl, Chinese guys are very sweet to their wives. Why don’t you give a try while in China? 😂 good luck, I am sure you will find someone.
