Alphard make really good subwoofers :). I have two machete super sport 15" on soundigital 12k. They did easily 150db on like 3-4kw rms. Didnt even get warm or smell.

I have the same one but in sedan closed trunk, and i have to it in 32hz box, sounds rly strong, i waited this review so much, but you pushed that sub so hard. i need another car, when i open one door, it gets much louder, open both doors stil more gain :D

Great video Parker. I was looking forward to this one, and it was definitely informative. I'm very curious to see what you think of higher tier subs in the $250 - $300 price range. You did a great job testing the $100 and $200 price points. Now it's time to step it up! Lots of people shop in the $250 - $300 range for single sub setup. You can find good prices on amps in the 1500 - 2000 watts range for something like a Skar RP-2k or Soundqubed S1-2250 amplifier and you need a decent sub to go with it. I'm really looking forward to see what you do in the next few videos! Good luck man!

DB fits 11 inch cutout hole that was the sellin point for me. i have a center console box with 11 inch sidewalls. every other woofer i looked up was over 11

The skar vxf is a beast and way under rated at 1500rms had one on a rp2k and it got loud and wanted more seen a few guys run a single vxf12 on a hd3k and they loved it
It would sure be nice to introduce a lot of the younger audience (20's) to xbl^2 technology subwoofers. The newer Adire Brahma 12" can be had for $315 (ssa), which starts to get up there in price, but they do not distort at the upper range of their xmax like almost every other sub does.
Hey Parker, how about adding a small secondary video stream of your face/reaction while listening to the subs at different frequencies. A lot of phone cameras provide this feature (video within a video)
Got a question. I recently upgraded my system to a second, also larger, battery, next to my amp and box, along with my old Scoche cap for fun. Voltage holds MUCH better, but no noticeable difference in sound performance. No settings changed, and running at max capacity before on stock alt.

@@benluster8058 Compare the prices Basically the Sundown Sa 12 is almost $300 for 750 rms and you to Ct sounds Tropo XL 12 1000rms and the got to another brand like B2 Audio Rage 1200 at $450 which one would you pick out of the three and the ct sounds go for $175 - $250 I believe

Yea...I got 4 of those audiopipes in my trunk, I fucking love em I put 4 more of the 6.5" versions in my truck and they sound way better than the skar vd 12 d4s that were in there before, can't go wrong with audiopipes.....
I have two XR 12's now, and what I want to know is, should I upgrade to the Skar VXF. I think you get a lot more subwoofer for your money with the Skar VXF @ $269 vs this DB27. The Skar should get lower and louder, and handle power better with a bigger 3 inch voice coil, assuming the coil glue is of similar quality, and a bigger 300 oz motor with better cooling from the wide open Ti basket and venting through the motor and a pole vent.
catch22frubert you are totally wrong buddy, this db wil take much more power than skar with even 3”, because it’s not well engineered as db products. Venting in the motor is a bad thing not a good one 😉
The DB is definitely better quality built. Especially the spider and tinsel leads. However, it is hard to say if it is worth $90. Depends on your applications/preference

Just a regular ported box
I'd recommend as easy it is to build boxes. Build a sixth order. The acoustics are amazing when your dealing with Quality Subwoofers
