Hi Adriene just wanted to say thank you so much for creating this video. I have suffered with chronic migraines for years and have recently decided to come off my medication in favour of mindfulness practice. Your videos have me cope so much better with the migraines. I tried this particular video for the first time tonight and my symptoms have drastically reduced. Thank you x

Rachael Moss Similiar story for me. Been off all medications for a year and half, eliminated all grains and sugar, do regular yoga for neck and shoulders, and after 36 years of chronic migraines, I am mostly migraine free. When one starts to creep on, I drink a ton of water, put an ice pack to the neck, and do this video. IT WORKS EVER SINGLE TIME!! Thank you so much, Adriene. This video is magic. Truly. Xoxo

At this point, whenever I feel something ain't right - I think about yoga. I put in the search field "yoga" and add some issue - every single time you have a video for it. Needless to say, every single time it helps me. Worked when I felt so low (depression practise), helped with overeating, helped with back pain and now this blessing! You're a wonder.

Firstly, it's really touching that you said "so sorry you have a headache". Its a much nicer way to approach a yoga flow than the "do this and you'll feel better" type vids that other produce. I've had a migraine for a couple days, usually I'll sleep it off by now and wake up with a weird and unpleasant lightheadedness but well enough to work etc. But on day two I decided to try this and it has really helped me, Thank you. Peace to all

So I decided to try this thinking, well, it couldn’t hurt. And it works. You cannot imagine how grateful and happy I am. I also do your beginner videos twice a day. You get that it is the whole body that needs help, in your kind and gentle manner. I even got my sister and neighbor to join the Adriene fan club. And my cat. Sometimes it is managable, sometimes it spins way out of control and I am incapacitated. Today was one of those days. This video brought me back under control and made it managable again. I have been searching for answers to why, with little help from all the tests and specialists. Adriene, My deepest gratitude for your multitude of target areas you have a yoga practice for!!! You are quite something! You are a powerhouse, a motivator, a doer, a thinker, and super sweet guide (and my personal guru!), and a very dynamic practitioner! I am super impressed by the magnitude of pains, discomforts, chronic illnesses, diseases, and other things you address. I have been a migraineur (so we are called, us sufferers of migraines) since I was around 10 years old. I am now 47, and though the incidents of migraines have tapered down and become less severe than they have been, I still get them for a ploethera of reasons, including weather - pressure changes -, foods, moods, stress, before an illness like a cold or flu set in, etc. I am ever looking for alternate ways to take care of my head than using drugs my doctor has prescribed. Happy to have another way to address a migraine through this practice. Thank you for this! I have participated in your 30-days of yoga series, your Yoga Camp series, and am now doing your TRUE series. You have totally changed my life, my idea of yoga and what yoga is, and my ability to follow through, and for all this, I am grateful and deeply honoured.
    In Lovingkindness ~ Zhem

Looks so relaxing, I actually didn't do this (no headache) but I want to tell anyone who has migraines, my dad had cluster headaches for 2 years, was in agony. He tried 3 different medications the doctors recommended, none worked very well. He even went to a specialist in migraines. Nothing helped that much. Then he did some searching online and joined a forum of people who also had these headaches. He discovered that taking high doses of vitamin D cured other people's so he tried it himself. Since that day he hasn't even had one! That was a year ago! I hope this helps people!

I love the last part - of course:-) and while lying with my rolled T-shirt :-) covering my eyes, I have just realized that there is no real darkness in my bedroom when I go to bed. Living in the centre of Prague there is always so much light...Lighted lifts on the side of the house opposite going up and down during the whole night and the same on the wall (next to my window) in my house...up and down....Lighting my bedroom. I will definitely try now to cover my eyes when in bed. I might even buy some little silk scarf to cover my eyes with:-)
And will do this practice until my head is pain free nad strong 🙂

Love your videos so much! I get chronic debilitating migraines, and usually don't practice yoga during an attack. I was stoked to find this one as I assumed it would be gentle (it was) and would have no poses with the head below the heart (but it did...). Just for future reference, any poses that put your head below your heart when suffering from a migraine make the pain/pressure so much worse! I have asked my friends who suffer from migraines (and my neurologist) about it, as I wanted to make sure I wasn't alone in my body's reaction, and they all seemed to agree. Love love love your at home yoga vids, Adriene! I just thought I'd point out this one thing so perhaps you can offer alternative poses if you ever do another yoga for migraine video. I still do it, adjusting that pose and it's great xo

Thank you so much, Adriene, and love to anyone out there with a migraine or a headache xx

I've only recently started trying yoga and have been using your videos almost every day for about 4 weeks now. They've helped me feel calmer through this crazy time but also just tried this practice out as I have suffered from migraines for so many years. I used fresh lavender from my garden, crushed into some paper towel and tucked into a scarf over my eyes. I feel so calm now and much lighter and hope that in time, yoga will help relieve and prevent these migraine attacks. Thank you Adriene x

Tip: Take a spare sock (a novelty super fuzzy sock that you lost the mate to is perfect) an fill about 3/4 full with rice. Bonus: add dried lavender or mint. Tie off or sew shut. You now have a weighted eye blanket that can be stored in the freezer or heated in the microwave (about a minute and a half).

Appreciate this Adriene but, for me anyway, seems like headache relief rather than migraine. I went through migraines and would never be able to sit still and shut my eyes like this as the spinning and ache would of been too much. I've mentioned this before on your channel but the plow position, the one where you bring legs over your head head while on your back, I believe, helped A LOT...amazing stretch for the back of the neck and shoulders. Gives you that slight release you crave at that moment. That stretch plus scalp and head massage, darkness, deep breathing and laying on back without pillow but towel under neck. Great focus of attention and thoughtfulness as always Adriene to something this specific but it is a deep and intense pressure that demands relief on so many different personal ways.

I was never into moving my body, always either chubby and out of shape, or slim and out of shape, and during covid I decided to start taking care of my body and started with your "yoga for complete beginners" vid for a week just like you said, transitioned to 30 days of yoga challenge and haven't missed a single day of practice for the first time in my life! today I woke up with a terrible migraine, suffered through work and thought I might skip a practice for today.... I don't know if it was the weird feeling of disappointing you (lol!) or just feeling something was missing, but I felt I need the mat and your soothing voice today more than ever! and then I found this video... this was an amazing half hour and I feel so healthy and refreshed! thank you so much

Something said, "Adriene has thought up a video for every other ailment, try her for headaches..." so I did and this was the one I picked. I just did it along with you and although my head is still sore, I can honestly say that my symptoms did improve. For me, forward fold and downward dog are also helpful for migraines because I can let my head hang loose and release all the tension in my neck. Of course, if I am very sick to my stomach all the up and down might not be such a great idea.
And thank you thank you for all these videos! I've been using them to develop better posture which is helping tremendously with nerve pinching that I was getting from scoliosis. There’s no feeling more vulnerable than the point at which you need to admit you need help. I’m not ashamed (after many months of practice with Adriene through her videos) that I spent a lot of this practice with tears rolling down my face. I had a headache this morning and whilst I would normally opt for the more physical practices, at the last moment I decided that that’s not what my body needed today. As Adriene says in the video - a lot of emotion can come up when we’re in pain. It’s a reminder that we need to be kinder to ourselves that can feel like an admission of weakness. But it’s not: pain is just your body trying to tell you what it needs. Today, what I needed was a gentle, mindful practice and to let off some emotional steam. Sitting up now, I feel so much lighter and felt compelled to write this comment. Adriene, thank you for teaching me how to listen to my body. I hope everyone using this video finds relief and peace, be it emotional or physical, even if just for these short 20 minutes. Namaste ❤️

I was diagnosed back in 2012 with Fibromyalgia- but I've only really started learning about it this year. I'm surprised but, while daily yoga routines definitely help stretch out my body and release some tension in sore muscles, it's actually everything else which is healing me.... self-acceptance, self-love, self-care, learning about the chakra's especially the heart chakra, practicing gratitude and forgiveness, healing past traumas, not allowing myself to get stressed, etc... and I often have days now where I feel very little pain (back in 2012 I would take a lot of medication and could barely walk or get dressed!)
      Peace and love!
