Hello my friends! How are you feeling today?
Awesome !! Feel great after a run and this practice 💖And you ?
I appreciate you and all of your wonderful videos, this one came at the perfect time, I have been having an issue with my upper back, thank you for sharing...it was very helpful.💚
Bright breezy day here. Swept the front and back yards in the winter sun. Appreciated the fresh air and hearing the birds singing. Lovely little yoga practice for a Sunday. Have a beautiful day 😊💕💓💕
Literally just used your front cover photo to stretch out my neck, and it immediately popped😊 feeling way much better, especially after i just shoveled my mountain-covered sidewalk😂 thank you for your help! I liked the rest of your video!
Grateful to have this practice as I carry most of my stress and aches in my shoulders and neck 💕
I’ve had neck issues for years and also did daily PT. I would have extreme neck pain and burning twice a week for over a decade. I’ve used Biofreeze and Salonpas Patches for relief. My BFF sent me this video on a whim. Since practicing yoga using the video every morning, my neck pain is nearly diminished. It’s truly been life changing. Typically, I don’t post comments, but I wanted to thank Adrienne for changing the quality of my life.
Me as well.
Same.
Dave’s wife here. I have always worked my upper body to extremes lifting pulling grabbing etc..! I use proper body mechanics but always have tightness and discomfort in my wrists shoulders and hands. I seek relief from daily yoga and jacuzzi therapy. This video was the most relief for that upper body tightness and the pinching muscles feeling. Adrianne helps me to be more fluid. 🙏🏻❤️🧘♀️ ALWAYS FEELING THE LOVE HERE
I'm so happy for you Caresse!♡
Caresse - I suffer from the same neck issues as you and just found this video. Your comment has inspired me to start my day with this as well. I hope I find the same relief that you did. Take care :)
She‘s like the bob ross of yoga ❤️
I was thinking exactly the same...
Omg...yes. 🤣🤣👍👍👍
Yes!
I just discovered Bob Ross Joy of Painting on BBC 4, I agree, both make you feel happy and relaxed ❤️😊
wow that is the best compliment ever, and also very true!
After four years of practice, I get this beautiful feeling of visiting a friend everytime I roll my mat and hear Adriene's voice.
Beautiful
Day 32 of yoga❤ this is my attemp to turn yoga into a habit like brushing my teeth before bed, or applying sunscreen before going outside ✨it looks like it is working! so glad💕🥹
Yeeeaaah !!😀😀Good luck on your way!!🥰💪💪
Same here !! We're doing great ❤❤
Wow... that was my first time ever doing yoga stuff. It felt really good... I’m kinda shaking now lol my name is Joseph, I’m a disabled Iraq war veteran a father of two and coming on two years since my wife passed away. I’ve been in a very dark place to say the least. I’m slowly coming out of it and have been looking for natural was to deal with all my physical and emotional pain. So happy to have found you sharing your knowledge of yoga, I could never afford to have a private lesson. I will be doing a lot of your lessons that deal with weight, back and neck pain to start with . Thank you again, I really enjoyed it. Keep up the amazing job 💜
so much love to you for sharing us with this brother. I cannot comprehend the loss, but know you are respected and loved.
You can also check out Ayahuasca:)
Your comment made me tear up, thank you for your service. Sending you Prayers from Texas!
Joseph, thank you for sharing your story and thank you for your service to our country. I am so sorry for the death of your wife. I hope that you find peace and joy no matter what direction your healing takes you.

Thank you 🙏
One of my favorite bed-time rituals is rotating my neck round and round, a soundtrack of cricks and cracks following from my joints, and murmuring "daily neck hygiene is soooooo important" while my husband watches, terrified.
Every expert medical resource I've ever come across on neck and spine health states this as the most important thing to NEVER do. Might want to look into it for yourself. I skip this part of the video and do safer neck stretches instead.
lol
@@Dr.T-Bomb umm, good to know
@@Dr.T-Bomb I'm pretty sure the stretches you're referring to are neck rolls, where you roll your head horizontally across your neck (i.e. chin touching chest, shoulder, back of head touching back, shoulder), if I'm not mistaken. Adriene's "rolls" are vertical, meaning if you don't overdo it, it shouldn't cause the hyperextension in the neck that should be avoided. If you're however referring to something else, I'd love to know!
@@mariekejee18 Thanks for the informative reply! I haven't seen it narrowed down that much. The typical explanation I've come across is that any combination of rolling and bending/flexion/extension of the neck compromises the C-spine and will significantly increase wear on those delicate joints. Intuitively it makes sense-there is such a high degree of mobility in that part of the spine that it would be more susceptible to repetitive wear in loaded and stretched positions (and rolling the head is basically just grinding away at these joints). Whether all of that has been proven beyond doubt in epidemiological and controlled studies I wouldn't know and I'm not about to dig into all the literature to check-happy to defer to the experts on this one. Just wanted to make a PSA for those that would like to check for themselves.
I suffer from chronic migraines and while I’m doing these stretches I’m feeling so much relief. No amount of medicine has the power to actually help, yet this 10 min video took so much of my pain away. it’s incredible!! 🧡✨
Crazy you just have the same experience I have.
I feel incredibly tensed and have chronic headache since 1 month et this video is crazy, I feel so good !
This + fraser wilson’s mobility videos help me get so much better
@@youngab3664 I’ve never heard of him but I’ll have to check it out! I have another migraine today :( hoping your pain gets better soon! ❤
I get migraines a few times a year and have since I was 18. Loss of vision, vomiting, and in bed the entire day. I always assumed it was my shoulders because I get massive knots on them. After doing this for a week everything seems less blurry. Hope this gets rid of them.
YAS! I'm doing this every time when I have a migraine. I get terrible tension in my shoulders and neck, this is just perfect. Instant pain relief.
I am definitely adopting this routine for every day
Here for the EXHALE calendar 2024 ! Who else ?
It feels so good to have a soft practice at the beginning of a very long day coming up ❤

Anyone else here for day 3 of BRIDGE having just finished BREATH? Let's keep this train rollin"! X
Yess!!!
I am here... Building that bridge
Here again, yes!
Namaste Sophie!
Absolutely!
This is going to sound so silly, but I started crying in the middle of the video and had to pause. My neck has been a huge issue for weeks, I even had to have someone come in and take over my shift at work because I strained it which made it worse on top of that and I had to literally just lay in bed for a few days. I hadn't done your videos in a while and started doing them again last Monday. Today, in the middle of yoga, I realize my neck didn't hurt for the first time in about three weeks and most likely it's thanks to getting back to stretching with your videos every morning. Just goes to show that this is a must do for everyone. It helps you from straining your body throughout the day by even the simplest of movements which is what happens to me all the time. Time to go back to telling people Im busy in the morning doing sessions with my trainer. You're doing awesome work. ♥
So great. I have chronic neck pain too and this video really helped me. I don't know if you've been through something like whiplash, which is what happened to me. Even low-speed collisions (30mph or less) can cause a lot of damage ... for me, the pain has been life altering, so I feel you, my friend!! Yoga helps me a ton, but I really have to use caution ... but I also find neck stabilization exercises to be super helpful. Also grateful for the relief in this video, Adriene!! Namaste
Not silly at all, thanks for sharing! Makes sense that as we release tension through these practices, feelings well up. It is a beautiful thing and you're not alone!
It's not silly. A friend of mine is a yoga instructor and she has been recommending to me that I do yoga to help my heart and my body. I can't afford yoga classes right now, so I decided to search for a nice yoga video to help with my neck and back pain (I'm a server/bartender lots of work on my feet). I started tearing up in the middle of this very simple short video and a little afterwards too. I instantly felt relief in my body after this, and I will definitely continue to watch her videos. They seem really straight forward, easy to follow without any extra vlogger nonsense, and her voice is really soothing. Thank you Adriene.
Nathan, have you ever had craniosacral massage therapy? It can be incredibly helpful for the kind of pain you described. Also eating high alkaline foods can reduce inflammatory pain. Perhaps look up both of these approaches. I hope it helps. I used to live with chronic pain.
That's not silly at all. That's the secret point of yoga. Congrats on being so advanced!
I didn't realize it has already been 10mins. Thank you for this 🥰
Time flies when you enjoy what you do🥰🥰🥰
Babe...
Anyting for old lady can do. Who had forearm surgery and.

Best neck exercises video on CZcams. Works every time :)
Seriously I was not expecting to actually feel better with only 10 minutes.
Feel so much better too 😁
Same! I do this exercise everytime now I am suffering and it is just amazing! Thanks so much Adrienne for this video! It saved me!
Agreed. This is really helpful

Day 3 for me!! woohoooo.
well hi there!
Wow. I literally woke up with a crick in my neck. Thankful for this practice. Anybody else just love "thread the needle"? The name, the stretch, the feel? Here's hoping the groundhog sees his shadow and that we feel the light of The Son today. February 2023. Align Day 2. Done💜.
I hold all my tension in my neck and shoulders and I always have to come back to this video to realise that and undo it. It works magic every time. Even knowing the exercises by now, doing it with Adriene's ASMR-quality voice and her reminders to take my time are the only way to really get the stretches right. Thanks for changing so many people's lives with this! I don't know what I did beforehand.
When I feel a tension migraine coming on...I immediately do this and wow...you have saved many days of pain for me!
Good to know that it can help with headaches! Thanks
Me too! So grateful for your sessions Adriene.
I cant sit down on the floor cause of my knee pain
@@MissNamaSlay yes your whole body is tensed so the pain actually starts from your back and goes up your head thats what i was told, i noticed as well my hips get tensed too lol
Jacintha Dsouza my partner does this on the edge of a chair
Opening my laptop to do my daily YWA, there was a button calling for computer update. I pushed it, and of course, the machine went black for a loooong time... But then, sitting on my mat, I just started. Breathing, "hearing" Adriene voice inside my head. I did all the tings I remembered, and for the first time I managed to do a yoga session all by my myself! Proud! I have been doing daily yoga for 2,5 years, and today I realized I really have a vocabulary internalized. Although I prefer doing yoga with the videos, this was a nice experience. Thank you Adriene, for the beautiful BREATH series, and for being a wonderful guide, a supportive friend and a daily inspiration! Wishing you all the best! Love from Norway!
Whos merc - respectfully, I'm not sure that there was any need for the tone of your comment. The reason for the black screen isn't the point. It provided an opportunity and Kristin found that she's learned more than she realised, and can practice without guidance. That's an awesome part of the journey.
@@cherylb787 you’re right! Thank you!
I love this!! Isn’t it so amazing how we absorb these practices? Congratulations on your next steps!
Love to Norway from the U.S ❤️🧘🏻♀️
These shorter and lighter stretches are always nice. By the end, I usually keep going with my own movement!
Me too once I’m on the mat it’s nice to let the body lead.
a little does go a long way. I've been feeling stressed and depressed lately and a few minutes of self care through yoga has really bolstered me. I'm feeling much more peaceful
Wow I mean, I’m kind of shocked of how bad I was feeling 10 minutes ago and how relaxed and happy I am right now. Plus my back and shoulders hurt sooo much less Thank you so much for this amazing exercises!
Saaaame
I’ve been doing this daily. It’s unreal how perfectly it works.
Sitting on the mat, I was struck by sorrow. In these times of solitude, Adriene is actually the person I see the most. I wake up to her voice every morning. I go to her when I am desperate for relief, and whether I'm feeling joy or pain. She has become so important in the lives of so many. I mourn, in a bittersweet way, that we can't all link hands and extend this love fully to one another. We go through our experience alone. It's sad, but it's also a wonderful mystery, life is. When I lay on my mat, I can feel the weight of my body pulling down and the support of the floor taking up that weight, sending it back to me. I notice the places I am tense and where I'm at ease. I feel my chest expand with breath. Miraculously, I'm alive :) And I know that others also bear the weight, the counterweight, the expansion, the contraction, the pain, the pleasure, and everything else. I'm grateful for many reasons to Adriene: teacher, friend, and mother of this community.
This is literally like my thoughts and feelings finally put into words. I just discovered her and I’m in severe pain and can’t wait to do this !
@@makenziemoore2424 Wishing the best for you!! Truly. I started doing yoga a few months ago to add some structure and self-love to my mornings, and I hoped it would also help with some chronic back pain. It did both and more! The healing and empowering of yoga such a thing to experience!!
Wow that was amazing , u should be an author !
I agree with so much of what you said. She is the Bob Marley of yoga:)
I feel exactly like you said, same thought!

Exhale 2024 day 2 in the books. Grateful for some short practices today and release of tension held in my neck & shoulders after a stressful day yesterday with one of my doxies having an allergic reaction. She’s good now but it had me worried as she’s never done that before. ❤🐶
I'm glad she's okay 😊
I’ve been doing yoga on and off for years, but Adriene has now become my yoga instructor thanks to her videos (with support from Benji of course!). If you’re looking for someone to guide you through daily practice, I couldn’t recommend this channel more! Thank you for all the great work!
I’m a dental hygienist and my neck and shoulders are killing me. I searched on line for neck/shoulder stretching. This video popped up. This was my first yoga experience. I did exactly what you said to do and no joke. The pain is gone. I’m thinking of doing yoga daily now.
I must have something else because it didnt work for me.
I am plagued with neck pain most days, and it can stay for many days in a row. (Of course it triggers headaches so everything above the shoulders hurr, jaws, eyes, whole head, whole neck.)
I have to sleep a certain way or else.
I have to sit a certain way.
Cant skip meal or not drink enough else headache.
I massage. Put a hot pad. (Headche pills usually dont work either)
Right now it's so bad on my left side only. Nothing works and I know it can last all night too, until waking up with it the next morning.
I saw someone who tested my neck, nothing wrong there my movement and jaw seems ok according to him.
It controls my life along with other health stuff I have.
I cant sit on my couch and lay the back of my head (not the neck) on something, because after 2 minutes it's uncomfortable.
@@FocusedFighter777 sorry to hear that. My pain is triggered by stress. Any updates ?
@@FocusedFighter777try correcting your posture too .. like holding a mobile in hand and endless scrolling also adds to the strain ..

Hi everyone!👋
One of my favourites, I'd like to thank you Adriene for getting me through the 30 days of breath and I'd also like to thank Lotte Larsson who left a comment saying how she modified poses and that they didn't have to be perfect, this also helped me immensely and now I'm doing your February calendar! Not too bad for an old girl!

Try to go to gym for walks but Adrienne has changed my life in no ways that the gym can. This is my go to video whenever my neck pain flairs up. Honestly if I do this every day, it’s nearly gone. I gotta keep up with it lol. Good luck u guys got this. Yoga is life changing.
Day 2 of Align. Thankful to be here no matter how hard it might be 🙏💞
Blessed Beloved LouBlou! I am too thrilled to have scrolled down and see your face. Long time no talk to. How are you doing? Did you participate in Center? Best wishes! 🦋♥️🦋
@@zuriwilson-seymore8939 oh there you are! I missed your beautiful presence so much 💞 I am still struggling to recover and it is taking me much longer than anticipated so I only managed a couple of days of Center. Not helped by events just before Christmas. I lost my best friend unexpectedly and was made redundant so it's been a tough time but hopefully coming back to the mat will give me some focus 🙏 How are things with you? Xx
@LouBLou Yes, I'm here, my beloved yogi friend. Aww, pace yourself. It will take time to heal. Be kind to your body. Consume lots of healthy nutrients. Are you familiar with the herb 🌿 sorrel? It's great in fiber and the immune system. My mother, as you already know, is a cancer survivor, and she consumed plenty of sorrel juice during recovery. Juicing will help you. I am well. I just completed a 30-day food fast, and I am on the tale end of a cold. Please accept my deepest condolences regarding your best friends elevation. Do you mind sharing what happened? Keep your head up! 🦋❤️❤️🦋🙏🏿🤗💐
@@zuriwilson-seymore8939 oh no I hope you see that cold off quickly. I will look into sorrel when I can but atm I'm still primarily tube feeding so am limited to what I can consume.
My friend was who I cared for that was quadriplegic and sadly he was let down by the medical system. He had been complaining for almost 2 years of feeling like something was stuck in the back of his throat and so we'd spent that time trying to persuade them to put a camera down as he felt it was a physical thing. They just kept telling him to eat soft foods. Unfortunately, I hadn't been there to chase it up so I don't know what happened with the care agency following up but I got a call around midnight one night from a and e doctor saying he was vomiting copious amounts of blood, they were suspecting internal bleeding and could I go asap as they didn't expect him to make it through the night. Devastatingly I was covid positive so unable to go and they rang an hour later to say he'd gone. The coroner concluded it was massive internal heaomarrage due to erosion of the oesophagus. The main symptom of that is pain on swallowing and feeling like something is stuck in the throat. It is also very common in someone taking the meds he was so I'm currently trying very hard to not be so angry that it slows my own recovery with the negativity. I'm trying to remind myself that everything happens for a reason, whether we know that reason or not 🙏💞
@LouBLou Happy Sunday, LouBlou! Thanks so much for the well wishes! I'm slowly 🐌, yet surely getting better. There's so much cold in my body right now. 🤧 Wow! That's a disturbing story. Please accept countless love and light! ✨️ 🙏🏿 Yes, everything happens for a reason, and the medical system definitely failed your dear friend. I do recall you talking about him all the time. It's an unfortunate truth that some doctors will ignore signs. I, too, am a victim of this medical industry as you already know my story. We must heal thy self and be proactive when we know something strange is happening to our bodies. 🙏🏿 That must be frustrating to eat from a feeding tube. Let us focus on the positive outcome of being cancer free. This challenge will pass, and energy is forever; therefore, your friend will always live in your heart. Now, he is pain-free living his best life in the next realm. Keep your head up! 🦋♥️🦋🤗
This has become my go to session whenever I get a tension headache. That trap-stretch followed by the upper back stretch seems to be the key parts every time 🙏
This is very helpful to know!! I’ll definitely give it go when I get a tension headache next time. Thank you for sharing
Which part of the video is that ? I'm not sure I'm doing it right lol
Ty day 2 completed
Namaste Adriene!
Practicing with y'all from Greenville, South Carolina, USA. I have practiced yoga since 2002, but am recovering from a hamstring attachment injury. This 30 day challenge is a wonderful way for me to ease back in and gain some confidence! Thank you, A&B!
You were the yoga video i first watched 10 years ago. You changed my life. I am so thankful you exist.
This is the very first video of YWA I did almost two years ago. 😊 That is when my journey of doing (almost) 😉 daily yoga started. And I have not looked back since. ❤ Thank you Adriene, Benji, the YWA team, and the wonderful community here.
The simplest things in the world are so beautiful and that session was one of them beautiful things. Thanks Adriene and Benji Namaste 🙏
So true 💖
Wow. Never imagine this would work so well. BIG THANKS!!
Day 2 of ALIGN ❤️ Being at a desk all day is not good for your neck or back! This was so good to do!
I love this video! I carry a lot of tension in my shoulders, so a focused practice like this is just what I need sometimes. Thanks Adriene, and thanks to all my fellow BRIDGE people for doing this practice with me today!
Hi yoga family, here with you following centre in Jan, Align for Feb. We rock ❤❤
Perfect for today. Thankyou, Adriene xxx
I just stumbled on this because I was fighting a panic attack and my neck and back were aching so I googled yoga for upper back. The cadence and vibe of your voice and this whole video calmed me and helped me feel grounded. It’s 4 years after you posted but thank you whether you ever see this or not. Namaste.
Day 3 of February 2021! These short but sweet 10-minute practices are the perfect way to roll right out of bed and right onto your mat to begin your morning with a fresh perspective! My upper back needed this love today more than I thought it did, so I am very appreciative for this practice! Thank you for another wonderful practice Adriene, see you tomorrow! 💜
CARE day 10
Oh god knows how much I needed an upper body stretch today, it is exactly what I needed after sitting on the desk for long hours.
Namaste.

2nd February 2023. "Align"
Thank you Adriene for this tension-relieving practice
Good morning! Happy to see that I'm not the only one continuing with the yoga journey into Align. I enjoyed the practice, but also a bit to quick and added a nice hipmassage (from the center series) at the end. Felt great!
Good Morning Marieke! Feel you! It’s a good one but also quite short. I also added a few moves. But now that you mentioned the hip massage I feel like adding that one too haha :)
@ 😄😄 I had never done that hip massage posture before the Center series, but I love it!
