  • We just cleaned this gas station in the middle of the night mainly using cold water. We rented a hot water machine to help pop off gum, but we didn’t have a hot water surface cleaner to surface clean with
    We used EBC and it was amazing. Customer service is great too. They helped me at 11:45PM with how to get the proper mix ratio. Grateful for the team at EBC

I ordered a 5 gal bucket of EBC. How much EBC did you use all together? Did you use a stronger mix of EBC on the bad spots and DS the rest? Also if you could do it again, would you even bother using the hot water? I might rent that same hot water machine.

      John Lange Yes it is! Around here people don’t really let you go all duke Nuke with the chemicals around their house or really frown upon it that’s when the hot comes in ,big sidewalk full of moss would think sh but wait nice grass exotic plants and one anal homeowner? that’s when the hot comes in whips it right off like a blower moving leaves. I can count on two hands how many times I’ve use sh or chemicals for that matter. in the long run hot water will pay you back tenfold just in chem saving alone and no offense to anyone reading this but everyone has a cold water machine and you can do great work with one and get just about any job done with it .but hot is good selling point and hear in California huge selling point is I won’t be using any chemicals on your house. But I love your channel your doing your thing and making money and we all know that’s what counts. I can’t believe I’ve been doing this for 22 years now and my dad for 30 talk about wash life lol I enjoy your videos keep up the good work fellow wash friend.

But yes certain motors and chemical I can’t get here but Hotsy is out off sd but way overpriced but they do offer mobile tech and demos at there shop but my main machines are Alkotas and I got a northern good initial warranty on the northern but a mix of low end and high end parts on there ready to go trailers and for cold we have a mix I keep a cold in truck in case I have problems with hot water unit on job site. Everything is a little different we don’t have much moss or mold on houses here like I see on a lot of you guys more east but what I like is how you got mostly day jobs! Casey Lee ya don’t HAAAVE to. Probably should tho, a lot of gas stations have sewage interceptors built in. I pissed a lot of big wig gas station cleaners out there by uploading this video. From my understanding with the law, it’s up to the property owner. Don’t quote me on that. After this cleaning, we will probably hold off on gas station cleanings untill we have a couple hot water units and a way to reclaim water. You can easily reclaim by purchasing a “sock” that sits around the drain, stops water from seeping into sewage, and then suckin it up with sludge sucker attachment. Probably not the BEST way to do it, but it’s a cheaper alternative than havin an actual reclaim system that reuses dirty water.

    • @JohnLange
      @JohnLange  Před 2 lety +8

      Naw man, it’s very hard to get good money for gas stations. I stay away from them. There are companies out there who ONLY do gas stations. They have hot water and they can reclaim the water very easily because their rigs are meant to do 1 thing and 1 thing only: gas stations! These companies also travel all across the country doing this also. They manage to wash 8-10 stations a day on average.
      For example They might charge $200-$400 a station on average because they secure corporate contracts. Let’s say “marathon” and agree to wash 50,100,200, something marathon gas stations 4x a year each in 3-4 different states. Usually each corporation has different regions/territory. Plus, don’t forget having to do insurance and or taxes for each individual state! As long as they do a good job they will keep growing their route…unless another reputable company comes in at a lower bid…it can be very competitive. Doesn’t sound fun to me but, it’s repeat guaranteed work and the guys I know doing this are making some big money! Personally, sounds like a mess. I couldn’t imagine trying to find employees who are willing to travel out of state for weeks at a time.
      Anyway, I charged like $500 and I was lucky to get that. Took me about 5-6 hours. Could have went much faster with proper equipment. After the rental and Labor and chem I was in the red before I even started the job! I didn’t care though, I just wanted the experience and I wanted to make a cool YT video 😎

    I have a small lawn care business and I am looking forward to start a pressure washing business this year coming up. Rough estimate because I know different areas charge different but how much can you charge minimum for a job like this?

      Mike Radliff $600. Won’t touch gas stations again unless I’m properly set up for it. This took us about 4 hours and I had to rent a hot water machine. Plus we worked all through the night. It made no sense for us to do this job.

    Keep in mind about recapturing the run off water because of the fuel and oils that are being removed from the surface. They consider that contaminated water that you are letting go down the drain. Maybe that's here in California. Something to look into.
