Just confirmed this weekend. Grew up protestant (Southern Baptist), became disgusted with the hypocrisy and ignorance, then was an atheist for 10 years, came back to the faith, got baptized, but soon became disillusioned with my chosen denomination (Pentecostal). Took some time to self analyze and research. Very happy to be Catholic now.

What exactly is it about Roman Catholicism that you "analyzed and researched" that leads you to believe it is the correct "church" for you ?? Sounds to me like you went from a spiritually dead works based denomination (Baptist) to an over the top spiritually alive church Holy Spirit based denomination (Pentecostal), and BOTH didn't suit you -- so you went for a "rituals" based denomination (Roman Catholic) -- where you can feel connected to GOD (who is Spirit) by your physical rituals (kinda like the pagans do).
You are screwed because you will not study Scripture and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you Truth (1John 2:27, Matthew 23:9, etc)

*So you are saying that its Apostle Paul/Canon that are the HERETICS teaching the false doctrines that the Fall & Redemption of Mankind was ONLY between TWO MEN/sons of God* (1Corinth 15:21-22, Luke 1:35/3:38) -- *ONLY between TWO ADAMS* (1Corinth 15:45,47) -- *based SOLELY on the actions of these TWO MEN (Romans 5:12-21)* -- and Rome got it right when they teach that Mary's name is part of Redemption/Salvation as "co-Redemptrix" ???? contradicts PETER in Acts 4:12.

*According to Apostles MATTHEW and PAUL, the "ekklesia/congregation of believers/church" that Jesus started was founded on the foundation of Jesus The Christ* -- Matthew 16:16-18, 1Corinth 3:11.
Here is what Apostle MATTHEW said:

Here is what Apostle Paul said:

*Jesus didn't form a PHYSICAL church on the traveling Apostle Peter who was instructed to go PREACH the Gospel of Messiah Jesus to the JEWS* (Matthew 10:5-6, Gal 2:7-9) *starting in Jerusalem and then out to the scattered Jews in the world in order to get the Jews saved* (Acts 10:38-43, Luke 24:47-49, Mark 16:15-16, etc)

Welcome home!!! 🎉 Becoming Catholic was the best decision I've ever made. Becoming Catholic is one of the best decisions in the history of decisions, I reckon. It hasn't been easy but so worth it. I cannot wait... CAN'T WAIT... until you receive our Lord into yourself in the Eucharist for the first time. Have you been attending Mass??? Please do if you haven't already. Sunday is my favorite day of the week. 😊 I'm working and can't go to daily Mass, but I live for Sundays. RCIA made the pandemic bearable ( I came through in 2020 and was baptized in 2021). God bless you and your journey.

Many, many years ago, way before my conversion, I attended a Bible college that was run by folks of the Dutch Reformed persuasion. Catholicism was presented in the context of ridicule, not logic. (A professor dismissed the deuterocanonical books by laughing at the book of Tobit, saying that it obviously didn't belong in the canon because no one could possibly take it seriously.) I remember sitting in my dorm room shortly before graduation, thinking, "Is this all there is?" All I needed to do was sit in a pew once a week, listen to a sermon, say a few prayers, sing a few hymns, and I was "in"? Many of my fellow students were enthusiastic, active participants, but it never made sense to me. Fast forward about 10 years, and I discovered the early Church Fathers. I was both horrified and stimulated by finding that they were unabashedly Catholic! That led to my conversion and subsequent discovery that the Catholic church had depths of spirituality that were missing in my former Evangelical life. Oddly enough, a year or so ago, a post came up in my Facebook feed from some protestant pastor who was pushing a book on writing sermons. The plug started off, "We all know that the height of Christian worship is the sermon . . ." and I found myself shouting, "No! No! It's the Eucharist, you idiot!" I guess I'm Catholic to stay.

The Catholic Church has many doctrines and traditions over the century's that are not even in the bible. After finding out the truth i left the Catholic Church 20 years ago. I wanted to know what GOD says i must do to get to heaven, you must be saved ask the lord into your heart and repent ,its a transformation of the heart that you now live for God and put him first in your life. Catholic Church has rituals you must do to get to heaven with pennants and Purgatory, that is not in the bible and goes against what Christ died on the cross for. Hears a site that goes over the history of the church and what the bible says you must do to enter into the kingdom of heaven. The Church has gotten so far from GODs word i was pretty shocked. it’s extremely trying when you have to go over the same thing time and time again or when it’s Christian’s who have no interest in dialogue but want to preach to us Catholics so we ‘leave the whore of Babylon’ yet when we show with Scripture where the Catholic beliefs come from they always seem to put their fingers in their ears singing lalalala…

Always a great show. This is one I never saw but am very interested in...I am a former Catholic now Biblical Christian. I am from an Italian Catholic Family. I attended twelve years of Catholic School which I am inestimably grateful to my parents. No one educates like the Catholic Church! My family was very close to the nuns and priests of the two schools I attended, as was I, and to this day I love them very much though many have passed. Beautiful, wonderful people! Thomas Aquinas is an important influence on my thinking relative to theology, particularly my doctrine of God, I am committed to the Thomistic understanding of the DDS, and my theology of the Trinity, in addition to and the Incarnation, my Metaphysical and Epistemological commitments as well as my Ethical commitments as I am committed to Classical Natural Law Theory and a Christian Anthropology. However, Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Knox, John Owens, Francis Turretin, Matthew Henry, and others amongst the Puritans are great influences of mine also especially in their capacity to exegete the scripture. Many of whom also held Aquinas in very high regard. They have influenced my Theology concerning questions of Authority, Justification, Sanctification, Theocentrism and Christocentrism, the Doctrine of Inspiration and the Infallibility of Scripture, and how I view the relation between scripture and tradition. I subscribe wholeheartedly to Sola Scriptura and the Five Sola Doctrines: Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Solus Christus, Soli Deo Gloria and Sola Scriptura. I understand what historically Protestants were protesting and why which seems to escape many so-called protestants today. I reject the papacy as unbiblical, particularly its three-pillars of supremacy, succession and infallibility as defined by Vatican I. I reject the Marian Dogmas with qualification. I accept the first of the four, i.e. the Theotokos, with qualification as Christocentric as intended during the Council of Ephesus to support or otherwise establish the Incarnation. I reject its contemporary use as a title intended to exalt Mary. I reject the other three and the potential fifth if ever defined by Rome as bereft of biblical warrant or support. I will never pray to Mary or to those whom the church designates as Saints.
Although I attend the Trindentine Mass, I reject the idea that the Mass is a sacrifice. I reject Alter-Christus and In Persona Christi as grossly unbiblical. I subscribe to the real presence however I reject Transubstantiation as an explanation of the mode of Christ's being present in the Eucharist. My opposition to Transubstantiation is not Metaphysical though but is instead Theological.
The canon my friend was received according to Athanasius, patriarch of the Christian See of Alexandria, in his Thirty-Ninth Festal Epistle, paragraph seven. The canon was not established by the Catholic Church. I affirm for instance the Athanesian Canon as reflected in the same letter, paragraphs four and five, and reject what my Catholic friends characterize as the deuterocanonical books rejected by Athanasius in the same letter paragraph seven. According to Athanasius then, there are sixty-six books of the bible.
The problem for me is that there is no evident way to reconcile what I consider to be Rome's errors with a sound biblical theology. I actually love the Catholic Church, the Clergy and many of its institutions. I pray the Benedictine Office daily however I do not celebrate Feats that involve saints or Mary. I am a huge fan of Father Pine, Father Thomas Joseph White, Father Dominic Legge, Matt Frad, etc...... But my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot breach the gulf between Sola Ecclesia and Sola Scriptura. Great show though I am a fan and will always watch your podcast. God bless you my friends!

When I was 20 which was 60 years ago, I became a Catholic. I was of the Episcopalian faith.
I took 8 months of private instructions and that Easter was my First Holy Communian.
I was age 20 when I got married and that May of 1964 was my wedding day on the 23rd.
But the priest of St. Mary's Episcopalian Church was VERY upset that I was becoming Catholic because I was marrying a Catholic. My sister also became Catholic as Her husband was one, and is still Catholic today as I am and my one daughter. I had five children but only one has stayed faithful to the Church.
    What I wanted to tell you is what was said to me when I became Catholic, what the Episcopalian priest said to me;
"Why do you go to Rome for what we have here?"
Of course, one of the reasons was to be of the same faith as my husband. And anyway, I always had a secret longing to become Catholic, and I couldn't understand fully why the two Churches that were so similar, (?) because we're considered Anglican Catholic, (high church) as we call ourselves because we had the Eucharist we had Confessions. We genuflected we had the sign of the Cross. We also had devotion to the Blessed Mother. As I used to say the only thing we didn't have was the Pope and the Latin!
Anyway, I thought I would just share that.
And there are definitely VERY stark differences in what Orthodox believe and Roman Catholics.
I went to a fair one time put on by the Orthodox Church in Randall, New Jersey, a Rev. John, and after that the priest let us all go inside the church to explain to us the faith they believed in.
Some family members were with me and as we sat on the pews we noticed what was in the little brackets attached to the back of each pew. And they had a large plastic kind of paper and it had the Creed
on it. So I started to read it to my daughter very softly and everything just was like word for word Except they left the Holy Spirit Out of the Creed!
With my family member I went to the office of the priest as he wanted to answer some of my questions and I had tears...
I just couldn't BELIEVE what they believed. I mean if I practice any of the things that he said, I would be excommunicated from the Catholic Church!
They believe in birth control and I told him the story about the man in the Old Testament who displeased God VERY much when he was having an affair with his brother's wife. We all know that story. No need to go into details. And he said that they didn't consider that was not a reason not to practice birth control... He also said that they are allowed to marry three times and divorce three times.
(I guess not 4 because that would be ridiculous right? RIGHT!)
If you wanted to go to Confession, you did it by appointment. The wedding ring is worn on the right hand because they think it's pagan to have it on the left hand. The priests can marry, but then I'm not going to say anything about that right now. And the Communion is different on a spoon or whatever, but I won't say anything about that either.
There were other things as well, but I'll stop there. He gave me a bunch of books to read, but I never did open them because I just was dumbfounded at what he told me, and his reasons why... which didn't make much sense to me. So I just thought I would mention that as well...
Okay, God bless you, and thank you for standing up for our faith and being strong ...and also joyful because Jesus is our Salvation and the Eucharist is beyond priceless and precious.
And also to know that we have a wonderful Mother in God's Mother is absolutely fantastic as well.

And it suddenly dawned on me how Catholic I was. How we have a Sacramental view of the world. It underpins many of our teachings - but it is rarely said outright. I’ve heard it said recently that our understanding of the Real Presence as Transubstantiation and not “consubstantiation” etc makes sense when you have a sacramental understanding. It’s just not present in Protestant teachings in the same way.
I’ve since forgotten what Schillebeeckx wrote. And we didn’t just read his views either. But that has remained with me as the reason I am Catholic.
We should talk more about living a sacramental life.

      If you go on CZcams
And search Catholic Mass for the date a bunch of live masses will come up. Your local parish may also livestream. Mine does, I take care of my 87yr old mom, she can't physically attend Mass, so she watches it frm home. I dont know what your illness is. But, I have severe social anxiety. Honestly, when I go to Mass, sometimes it's fine, but sometimes I feel a pull to not go, like every1 might be looking at me or whatever I just get anxiety I have to just walk out the door and go w/o thinking. And when I receive the Eucharist it strengthens me. I always think of what St. Padre Pio said Pray, Hope, Don't Worry. Some days I just say that to myself over & over. Good Luck & God Bless

I concure that was the best explanation of what a Dominican is. All teenagers should be encouraged to read thr life if StDominic because there are so many incredible supernatural instances of why the Catholic church is the one true church. Just the story of when those angry women confronted him in the church and a demon appeared and frightened them and he calmly banished it and they converred and actually became the first Dominican nuns. Our history is so rich and interesting and helps explain truth for our ignorant current society
