May the Holy Spirit continue to bless you and guide you to the right path and Christ’s true & universal church, the Catholic Church. Place all your trust in the Blessed Mother as She will take you to Her Son, Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Everything else will fall into place once you’re “home.” I also learned from Father Jim Blount this simple prayer but very beautiful and effective: “Oh Jesus, I surrender myself (or anything or anybody) to You, take care of everything.” Say this at least a few times or use the rosary beads and say the Glory Be after each decade. I’ve found this prayer simple yet quite miraculous. Hope this helps ❤

When I came to t 12:45 he USA in 1951 @age 9-1/2 from Italy, in the
beginning I felt most comfortable and at home in a Catholic church. I
followed Holy Mass with my Italian-Latin Missal, and I said or sang the responses in Latin.
As I grew and learned English I still took my bilingual Missal to church until Holy
Mass was celebrated all in English. This past decade I've been attending a local parish where I've been singing in the
choir. The pastor likes for the choir to sing, on and off, parts of the Mass in Latin. At Christmas Midnight Mass, we sing carols and at
Communion in seven languages total. Everybody
feels at home, and I'm reminded of my
      childhood faith
      experience. At 84 yrs.of age I thank
      God for my Catholic faith.

I was raised protestant, but was always drawn to the Catholic church. Four years ago I became Catholic and last Easter 2023 my wife and my daughter became Catholic. We wish we would’ve done it 40 years ago. one of the sacraments I’m drawn to is anointing of the sick and someday, when I’m on my deathbed I hope to receive last rites. I love being Catholic.

  • @jillwinkler7678

I was raised in the Protestant church, married a Catholic who adamantly would not attend any other church, I saw his devotion to his faith, I saw his mothers devotion to the church even when they did not attend on a weekly basis. Moreover I saw the faithfulness over the years of other parishioners. I was always amazed to see the same faces week after week, year after year. Even when there were times I had missed mass several weeks in a row, they were there every Sunday. I became a Catholic six years after we were married (that was 50 years ago). I wasn’t a perfect Catholic for all those years and I’m not perfect now but my faith has continued to deepen. The more I studied the Catholic faith, the more I was impressed and awed, every day I discover something more that deepens my faith and devotion to being a Catholic. Some religions can’t stand up to scrutiny, Catholicism becomes more impressive the more you know about it. Some of the prayers date back hundreds of years and of course the more I read the Bible, the more I see our faith as the true faith. God bless you in your work and God bless each person who reads this, because it means you are reaching for Jesus.

On St. Patrick's Day, the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Orthodox Church announced it was ENDING its 50 year ecumenical discussion with the Vatican, ...now that the papacy has decided to make mockery of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony by officially certifying the performance of same sex unions among the demonic fudgepackers!
I'd like to see if Dr. Marshall can (honestly) arrive at "10 reasons" why he should REMAIN Catholic!

I’m sorry for anyone who has been affected by the leadership of the Roman Catholic church. Please study God’s word for yourself. When you learn the truth, you will understand that Peter is not the Rock. Christ is the Rock 1 Corinthians 3:11. Please study.
      -------------
      • Adding doctrines is apostasy and it’s forbidden. *Deuteronomy 4:2*, *Galatians 1:6-7*
      ****Mark 7:7****
Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
      -------------
      • There aren’t any officiating new covenant priests. We have a new ministry in the new covenant. *Ephesians 4:11*
      • God does not show favoritism *Romans 2:11* -- there is no evidence in the scriptures that the church was built on a human. We do not have a human pope to guide us. We are led by the Spirit. *Acts 1:5*
      -------------
      • The scriptures show no differences in the apostles.
      ****Equality amongst the apostles****
“Ye are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.” (****Ephesians 2:20****)
“And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.” (****Revelation 21:14****).
      • Peter was no different than the others.
      -------------
      • Mary nor the saints can hear prayers. There’s only one mediator in heaven between God & Man.
*1 Timothy 2:5* For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,
      -------------
      • All Christians are saints.
*Philippians 1:1* Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
      -------------
      • All Christians are priests.
*1 Peter 2:5* Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
      -------------
      • The doctrine of original sin is not biblical or found in the scriptures at all.
*Ezekiel 18:20* The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
      -------------
Every Christian is supposed to study and read the Bible for themselves. *Acts 17:11*
*Ephesians 3:4* As you read what I have written, you will understand my insight into this plan regarding Christ.
*Psalm 119:15* I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways.
      -------------
      • In order to receive salvation, we must all repent and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior. We need no Eucharist, no veneration of Mary, no long list of good works, no baptism regeneration, no sacrament of reconciliation, no rosary, no pope, no papacy, no belief in Peter as the Rock 1 Corinthians 3:11, no man-made doctrine, no priests, no infallible magisterium, no Vatican, no communion of saints, no catechisms, no Marian dogmas, no transubstantiation, but only by faith through grace are we saved.
****Ephesians 2:8**** "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast".

But as I've grown older and crossed the age of 30 I've realized the value that acts, tradition, and the Church actually bring. I also like the penence and fasting that is required. I came back after 30 years. I had wilderness years of disbelief and skepticism. A few years ago I came back to belief, and had been nominally Methodist for the last 10. It was a conservative church, and love the people I left behind, but felt that call to home. The priest of my local parish said I needed to really think about my confession. Saying “I didn’t murder anyone but you can check a yes to the rest” wasn’t going to suffice for a confession, but did he laugh. It has been great! I am glad to be back home for all the reasons above.

I am a Protestant/Catholic convert, just like you Dr. Marshall, being officially welcomed into the Catholic Church Easter Vigil 2023. My husband and i postponed our secular wedding at a hall, to be married in the Catholic Church before God. My favorite things about being Catholic are #1. The Authority of Catholic Priests & safety under the catholic umbrella. #2. Mary as our Holy Mother and #3 Reverence & History of the Catholic Church. My husband and I purchased our first home on Eastern Long Island and a few months later had to move out. We ripped out the floors, the kitchen our house was down to bare plywood and after months of Chaos we finally had out home blessed by a Catholic Priest, and all the issues instantly lingered away like blowing out a candle. (I am sure you can read between the lines) Hence my Catholic Conversion. #2. I found such solitude from our Lady who tugged at my heart the first time I ever met a Catholic Priest (at the original house blessing, before all the Pope Leo’s) And have received direct help and protection from our Lady as well. 3. Coming from a Protestant church, a comedy show between cover bands, i found such beauty in the reverence, genuflecting, humility, tradition and history of the one true church. When our souls witness and testify to truth, there is no turning back. Thank you for standing up for righteousness and keep standing firm in our faith. Light and Love in the Lord.

Fast forward to after I got married and my son being born, late in the night when my son would need a feeding, I'd feed him while I looked for something to watch on TV. Currently in RCIA. I can’t wait to be baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church. I was raised Baptist but by middle school no one in my family was strong in faith and going to church was never a big deal. We became more and more secular and liberal. My dad thinks all religion is evil at this point. It took a long way to come back to Jesus but without all that I wouldn’t come to know the fullness of Catholicism.

You should watch Christopher Hitchens destroy Catholicism. If your father thinks religion is evil, he has some point. The Catholic Church has been and is still responsible for so much evil, condoning evil and hiding it. I would consider you don’t join the church. Only Jesus Christ can save you my brother. One can't just start praying without recognizing the Holy Trinity, the same reason why Jesus died on the cross. It's a great blessing to recognize how spiritual rich we are. 👆 I have the opposite story.
Nun was viciously violent to sibling for small infraction.
Priest that I confessed to gave me the major creeps. I felt dirty after being in a dark closet with him. Prayers said afterwards didn’t “fix” anything.
Had 1 appointment with same priest at the insistence of my parents, because I didn’t want to go to church anymore.
He questioned me, then didn’t believe my answers. He was cold, cruel and apparently wanted me to feel ashamed. What I felt was shocked, afraid, confused and indignant. As soon as I was 18,
      I permanently left.
Later this same priest was “credibly accused” and found Guilty of sexually abusing 4 Boys. He never spent a day in jail.
He’s not on “pedophile” register. He still lives in the same area. His victims received $ettlements.
      He was removed from priesthood.
I wonder how many people he hurt
sexually, emotionally and spiritually during his “religious career” ?

    1. The willingness to understand that there are other ways to apprehend the divine other than just the intellect, (whilst of course having a strong intellectual tradition.)
    2. A sense of beauty and its place in worship.

In the verses, Jesus states: "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

I’m not a Catholic, I’m an Anglican, Church of England ordained Priest. This really was a very inspiring, warm, welcoming, and joyful video. Thank you Dr Marshall. I’ve been looking closely at the Catholic Church for the last 4-5 years, even having personal conversations with someone from The Journey Home Network. If I am honest Dr Marshall, the number one reason I have not become Catholic is that I am fearful. Fearful because I stand before a Holy God as a sinner, and I am fearful of making the wrong decision. Over these last few years I have read so much from some of the most incredible Catholic theologians that I have ever come across, listened to countless hours of debates. One minute I sense I am getting closer to becoming Catholic, and then I hear good Protestant arguments and I pull back. It’s not as if I am worried about loosing my job, as I am currently living in the Middle East due to my wife’s work. But I am fearful of going against a Holy God. So much more I could say, but not here. If anyone comments, please don’t say, “Come home” because right now I do not know where home is. God bless you and your family Dr Marshall

I live in Canada which is a real mess. But I am full of hope. I’ve been a teacher all my life, just retired January of 2023. It was particularly hard to not be able to talk about God in public schools. Children are so drawn to God and want to know about Him. I was fortunate to spend the last years of my career in a small First Nations School and when one of us was in need of prayer at work, there was always a teacher (not practicing Catholic), sometimes me, who would lift us up in prayer. I’m a traveller and loved feeling at home in churches globally. Thanks for doing your podcasts.

manny What G K Chesterton loved most of all about his inversion to Catholicism was the gift of Confession. The priest is there “in persona Christi” by Jesus’ plan. No matter that he be a sinner himself, trust that he represents Jesus. When Jesus instituted the Sacrament he advised, whose sins you shall forgive will be forgiven you . Whose sins you shall retain shall be retained. St John Visnney 17:52 and Padre Pio we’re notable as confessors. Typically you feel quite tense as you go to confession and ponder your sins. Once you’ve confessed, you are so happy that you did as though a burden has been lifted off your back.

Jesus showed us that there will be wolves in sheeps clothings. Look at Judas. Jesus picked him for a reason. I'm sure Jesus would've loved it had judas Escariot asked for forgiveness instead of losing hope in God, but Judas made that choice out of his own free will. Just like any priests that have lost their way. They have free will and because they belong(ed) to the Catholic Church doesn't mean they're perfect. Many will infiltrate the Church because of the fact that It Is The One True Church. Otherwise, the devil would've left Her alone. I grew up Lutheran and there was a definite anti-Catholic tone in the family. But each time when I passed a chapel (and we lived in a very Catholic area in Germany), I always felt the need to kneel before Our Lady. I felt like I was committing blasphemy, but it was as if my knees went weak. In 2015, I visited the birthplace of St Joan of Arc in France, whom I had admired as a child. I was overwhelmed by her presence - she was truly present to me - and I promised to become a Catholic. Someone then gave me the advice to attend a Latin mass, I had only known novo ordo until then - and was overwhelmed again. Never experienced anything like it before. I immediately enrolled for catechesis and in 2016, after so many years of being torn, I finally became Catholic.

@@calebjushua9252 That's fine. “sola scriptura” is an illusion. It is simply not possible to depend only on the scripture. What is needed is an interpretive framework, a hermeneutic apparatus, which most Protestant denominations borrow from the Catholic Church. But this is not reflected in Protestantism and should not be because they have left context of the tradition of the church. If they were honest they had to admit that in essential statements of the faith they depend on catholic doctrines. To give an example: the Holy Trinity is not scriptural. It is what the Church Fathers, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, read from Scripture and related to philosophical concepts. The Scripture itself speaks of the Father Son and the Holy Spirit, but nowhere are these three related to each other in the way that we take for granted today. If we get to the bottom of the matter, we will soon see that no one can base his life solely on the Bible, thats a phantasma. But so that it doesn't become arbitrary, we need the church's context of tradition. Having left this makes Protestantism so unstable, which is why there are always divisions.

I have also converted as an adult.
Unlike you, I was coming from a godless, communist family where there was neither order nor love. My conversion to the Catholic Faith was the best moment of my life.

10:48 Thank you so much for this! I think a lot of non-Catholics miss the boat on this one. Worship at the foot of the Cross is an elevated state of mind not an emotion.

Jesus set me free not from sinning but from condemnation guilt and shame. Praise your Holy name Jesus and mum 🙏

I am a Missouri Synod Lutheran (Pro-life, no-frills Gospel). My oldest son converted to Catholicism when he married and raised all their children as Catholic. I absolutely believe there is one path to salvation for all of us.. as Christ Himself said.. “No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

As a child of God baptised at birth, Chinese who should have been raised Taoist/buddhist because of my skin color.
But my mom decided to baptise me at 3 months old. My dad being a non practising Taoist didnt reject.
And here I am, having sinned, have repented. And is a practising catholic. And like stephen Colbert said once
I’m a practising catholic. I didn’t say I was a good catholic, but a practising one. God I believe just wants me to try. Try my best to be better day by day in his honor.
Like how beautiful is that, especially whenever I have some “existential crisis”
Lovely video. Thank u and praise the Lord ❤🙏🏼

I'm from Philippines and I'm a firm believer of Catholicism, for me this is the only one true church, if you're doubtful about it, I suggest, if you believe in God, please try to ask Him thru prayers or ask for a sign which religion is the true one. The Catholic church did not do any wrong but its those people who belongs to it who comitted those mistakes, its not the religion itself.

i like that we have a section of mass where we bless each other in mass, I like the fact doctorines don't change quickly, and our readiness to help eachother.

Great list, Dr. M! I'm a cradle Catholic, but I'm a revert. I call the TLM my holy tether. Not only the mass, but the congregation has taught me so much I never learned in all my years at parochial school.

I grew up with daily all school Masses every day of the week. What a beautiful way to start the school day as low Mass is quite brief but reverent actorShia Lebauef fell in love with simple low Mass. ei

I love so much being a Catholic religious Dominican Sister. I love all the ten reasons you gave-confession, holy communion, rosary, Mama Mary, the Saints, Jesus - Christmas, Fasting and Abstinence and being a member of a family of Jesus because of my Baptism. I love you! 27:41

I'm thinking of converting to Catholicism. This video was recommended to me after I complained that we don't do confession, which I feel I need, and also lack of any historical connection to my Lord and savior. Also, we only have church on Sunday. I would like to be able to go pray with other believers all week.
This video was pretty perfect for me. Thanks for taking the time to film this and share it, I really enjoyed it. I'm trying to figure out whether I will connect better through Catholicism or Orthodoxy
