I wish I had known you was making a trip in NYC . You must try stopping at the more affordable plant gardens like Urban jungle on 116 and Lexington . This place takes up almost 3 blocks of street space for plants and garden needs. Next time don’t hesitate . My husband and I would gladly show you around to more affordable plant stores .
@Jen's Diaries hi , Home Depot has a great variety of plants as well and great prices . IKEA is another wonderful place to find nice plants at affordable prices . I’m a cheapskate too . Lol
Not sure if you don't know or just didn't want to, but you can actually bring plants from the US to Canada. You just need to bare root it so there's no soil, and keep your receipt to prove you purchased it :)

@@CrazyPlantGuy it really depends on the border agent, but I have a Hoya obovata a friend brought me back from LA. The best thing you can do is bring as much proof of purchase as possible. If you try it let us know how it goes :)

I've been growing tomatoes in my kitchen in Montreal and they don't necessarily need pollinators. All you need to do is whenever you see a flower to tap on it.

She has a great plant store by her too in Brooklyn. I went and purchased two plants from them (hidden gem) and I have not been able to locate one of them since it went to plant heaven (a type of Alocasia). My donkey's tail is doing well though.

Aw man! This video made me super nostalgic. I used to live in NYC and would get my plants from the flower district. They have crazy deals. Thank god I started “collecting” after I moved away or I’d be broke. 😭
I also love the air plant arrangement! Would also look good for the head board, wont be too messy for the bed and just take out the whole thing outside when watering. 😀

I absolutely loved this video. I have family in Staten Island and have come across on the Staten Island fairy to visit the city. I do have a question about the Pony Tail Palm. Quite a few years ago I was given what I was told is a pony tail palm except mine goes up and splits off into four branches on top. I had often wondered if what I have is a different species of palm.
Hey there, can't believe you were right in my neighborhood. The 3 shops you shared are all my regular spots for plant shopping. Even though they don't have the best prices out of the 3 the plant shed is my fav. There are actually 2 stores the one you went to is their 2nd store. The original one on 96 st is the main store and has a larger variety as well as better prices. Great video

No, those cacti flowers aren't real. They just hot glued paper flowers. I was so disappointed when i bought some cacti like those and inspected them closer. Removing those fake flowers broke some spikes on my cacti. Can't understand why do they do that.
OMG never thought of checking out plant shops in NYC. I will next time thanks to you. Question: did you buy any plants? if so, did you have trouble (with customs/immigration) bringing them back to Toronto?
Sasha Dasha I took a jewel orchid cutting I got from the NY botanical garden and claimed it at customs and it was ok. I’ve been told by others that it’s ok as long as you remove the soil and only have it in bare roots and have the receipt that you purchased it. I’m going to try next time I travel. 😊

The next time you come to my great city, go to Crest Hardware located in Brooklyn. They have so many FAB plants and the owner has a pig and parakeet in the store that you would love (lol). Again, the BEST Botanical Gardens in all the boroughs!
