Good evening Sir, I would like to tell you that I have OUTSTANDINGLY more confidence on YOU about your chainsaw skill building than any chainsaw makers Sir 👍👌🧐😇✨🚀 Great video Sir and have a very nice week end Cheers 👌👍🍻
My Farmertec MS 880 kit had a bad coil and I got them to send me a new one which was also bad. Since I didn’t wanna wait two months, I ordered one on Amazon and third time was the charm. Both on this saw and my MS 660 kit, when I am pulling the starter cord, it fires and wants to yank the cord out of my hand. Do I have too much compression?
Did you delete the base gasket on those saws or file the flywheel key? If you deleted the base gasket, check the compression. If you get down to 150-160 that should go away. The 361 I built for my dad had 180psi and I had to put the gasket back on for him to start it. Advancing the timing can make them jerk on the rope too. So if you filed the key, retard the timing back to stock. The last thing that could cause it to jerk the rope is a bad ignition module. If you have a saw that doesn't jerk the rope swap the coil. The coil is the same from an 026 ms260 up to a 066 ms660. You may have to change the plug wire.
@@TractorTech I built the saw completely stock, except for using Permatex on both sides of the base gasket. I don't know what 'filing the flywheel key' or advancing the timing is, so I didn't do that.
@@aldredske6197 Yes, you can. They are around $3. I'm not sure about the durability yet. If you order anything from farmertec please use the link in the description. It helps me out.
Looks good Roger looking forward to the first start and cut. Take care, Ben.
Thanks, me too. I need to make an air filter base for it temporarily til I get one.

Thanks you Dave!
Good video thank you 🇺🇸
Thanks!
I picked up a neotec 870 clone of the MS 381 Stihl chainsaw.
It is hard to believe they are Stihl using that old 038 saw design.

Nice job Rodger!!
Is that a generic elastostart starter handle?
That Al! Yes that is an elstostart copy.
