  • I show an easier way to put a quick hitch on a tractor. You can do the opposite to remove it.

    Good idea. As a general solution, I store my implements on pallets and use a pallet jack for positioning / efficient storage.

      I like to keep some on pallets so I can quickly move them with forks on the tractor.

  • @ItsaboutMakingnotBuying

    That's a good idea about hooking the quick hitch up to the implement first and then to the tractor. Have a fun and safe summer. Later

    Should try the rigid stabilization bars Mark Hodge makes or Messick’s. They’re so much easier than the factory turnbuckle type but I still use Landpride’s smallest quick hitch. Have a Blessed Day Roger

      I don't have much of a need for the telescopic stabilzers since I have the quick hitch. I've thought about making them but I don't know where to get the stock.

    Good tip, Roger. You can use the same trick whenever you need to remove your 3-pt. After connecting it to an implement, disconnect the arms and top link from the tractor.

      Yes, just the reverse to remove it. Thanks for watching!

    I can't believe the new modern tractors don't have a place to store pins on the arms. My Yanmar ym2000 has the spots on the arms for lunch pins. But it's also now 40 years old and that's my newer tractor.

      I know, it's crazy they don't have something so simple on them.

    Hey Roger I have a question on my bx 1880 in the instructions it said to turn the key to and wait like 5 seconds for and then start it is that true?

    • @michaelfinney2160
      @michaelfinney2160 Před rokem

      Holding the key over until just before starting position you should see a glow plug light come on the instrument cluster. Holding over in 5 to 10 seconds intervals depending on how cold it is outside let’s the glow plugs work to make easier starting. If it’s hot out or already been running glow plugs shouldn’t be needed so go ahead and start. That’s what I do on my BX1870.

      @@michaelfinney2160 yes i just didnt know if you had to do that or not

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  Před rokem

      I think you are thinking of the cold start procedure for the glow plugs. It is not a bad idea to turn the key on for 3 seonds to prime the fuel system.

      If its above about 60 degrees it should start right away without needing to stop in the glow plug warming section of the ignition. That 5 second wait with the key in the glow plug section of the ignition switch is for cold weather starting. Although even in warmer weather I find my BX2680 won't start right away without using the glow plugs for a few seconds....but my tractor sits in a shop which of course doesn't get nearly as warm as outside so the temperature difference is quite drastic when it comes to getting a diesel engine started.

    So you suggest taking my "quick hitch" off everytime I wanna use a 3 point implement to make it easier
    That defeats its purpose and name
    You're better off fighting the damn thing one time and be done
