Movie Summary:
In the near future, a weary Logan (Hugh Jackman) cares for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart) at a remote outpost on the Mexican border. His plan to hide from the outside world gets upended when he meets a young mutant (Dafne Keen) who is very much like him. Logan must now protect the girl and battle the dark forces that want to capture her.

I’ve never been a father, but it was something that I wanted but never really got in my younger years. I am now 49 going on 50 and every time I see that scene I have to turn my head away to keep from shedding the tear because I did shed when I was in the theater. And I wasn’t the only one not only the women, but even a lot of the men were crying! I was good on this film until that part. That one broke me.
Everything reset after Days of Future Past. It basically created a new X-Men timeline where Jean didn’t die and everything that’s literally the whole ending to Days of Future Past. Xavier didn’t die until this movie after that. Most mutants are dead in this movie.
The movie had an excellent trailer that used Johnny Cash's "Hurt" throughout, and they did a fantastic job with it. Worth looking for and watching.

I was 31 when I saw this in the theater and wept like a baby, along with every other 30/40-something bearded man in our row at the theater lol. Was the most silent crowd I ever was part off, at the end. My wife and I walked out to our car, middle of the day, and cried for 20 more mins before we could drive 🤣🤘💙 This is one of those ones I'll never forget seeing in the theater.

the scenes for young wolverine were filmed after hugh jackman finished doing the old man logan scenes , he got back to his regular size which was the young wolverine size and jackman filmed the scenes where logan fought his young version in a room where he would react to the fight scenes he film vs young wolverine and then they put them together

Did you catch the part that Adamantium is toxic? Logan has reached the end of his ability to heal and resist aging with that metal in his body, somewhat like what Tony Stark went through with the materials used in his early model mini Arc Reactors.
We figured that out towards the end of movie yes. Sad ending to a great character 🤍🙏🏼
@@mrflickswatches Something that everyone misses is that Logan only had the adamantium since the 1980's, so the poisoning happens in 40 years. Laura is only 13 and already has the adamantium implanted, so she will get sick in her 50's.
@@jhilal2385 Actually Laura will be fine. Logan had his adamantium implanted when they still didn't know what they were doing so the process wasn't anywhere near perfect. The process improved and the poisoning doesn't happen anymore.
@darkvravenj Plus, she only has it implanted in her claws since the rest of her skeleton is still growing. Logan had it in his entire skeleton.
7:06 the other guy is named Caliban, he's a mutant. He was in X-Men: Apocalypse
Caliban originally appeared in the comics (The Uncanny X-men #148) in 1981
Stephen Merchant (who plays Caliban) has said he wants to come back for the MCU. I really hope they bring him back in some capacity.
1. The rest of the X-men are implied to be dead. In the film, there is a reference to the "Westchester Incident." Prof. X had a seizure that probably led to the deaths of many people. This is why Logan takes Prof. X out into the middle of nowhere, and why he is saving up for a boat; He wants to take Prof. X even farther out to sea where a seizure cannot inadvertently hurt people.
2. When it comes to passing the torch, I think the plan was to continue with New Mutants. Unfortunately, that film didn't do very well. Or, they might just wait another 10 years or so and reboot it.
3. Two things make Logan the best X-men movie: First, the fact that it was rated R allowed Wolverine to actually use the claws and therefore makes it feel more realistic. The other thing is that Logan isn't an "X-men movie." It is a Western crossed with a chase movie that has X-men in it, thereby allowing the story to focus on characters rather than on powers.
I agree the best one hands down. ! And I also agree, New Mutants was not it at all. Wasn’t feeling it
Thankfully with Disney buying Fox Studios, its looking like we are getting an X-Men/Mutant movie in the MCU sooner rather than later. With the rumors and trailers looking like Prof X/Patrick Stewart is going to be in Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, we really should get one in the next few years.

@@mrflickswatches It really depends on the future of MCU movies. Right now, the MCU follows a pretty good formula where even their "bad" movies are still enjoyable and fun. So based on that, I expect more of the same from the future X-Men movies.

The original death of Professor Xavier that you’re talking about happen in X-Men three: the last stand. But at the end of the film after the credits, we see that he somehow survived.
He doesn’t appear again, played by Patrick Stewart, until the post credit scene of the wolverine.
He transfered his mind into the body of his brain dead identical twin brother.
It’s crazy I can’t picture anyone else in the role just like Robert is Ironman Logan is my fav X-men, X-men has some good Wolverine comics too.

This movie takes place in somewhat of an alternate reality compared to the main X-men movies. After they leave the casino after Charles had that big seizure the radio in the car mentions something similar that happened that killed like 7 of them X-men, so Charles killed them by accident and just couldn’t remember. Also logan was dying because the metal in his body was poisoning him, as he got older his healing factor faded to the point where it couldn’t overcome the metal poisoning which was killing him. Anyway great movie.

@@mrflickswatches To clarify other details, Charles's seizure affects everyone. Humans and mutants alike. Only thing is that Logan and Laura can handle it because of their healing factors. Yes, Charles accidentally killed all the X-Men. The Westchester incident is a seizure that happened in the X-Mansion located in Westchester NY. Only Logan survived, but didn't tell Charles, to protect him. This movie is not set in any of the X-Men universes. It's a standalone which justifies all the other past movies as "comic BS".

Marvels “Wastelanders” podcast audio drama has Wolverine, Dr. Doom and other stories! Very well done. Takes place in the not too distant future..
The timeline changed in Age of Apocalypse which happens BEFORE the original trilogy. They don't explain what happens to the X-Men, but it is implied that may be Charles killed them.
Dick is an older term for pudding from England before Dick became slang for penis. There are raisins in the sauce that goes over it, which give it a spotted look.

6:00 Nah the continuity of the X-men movies makes absolutely no sense. It's best to view this movie as its own thing. Xavier died, and then he came back with very little explanation, Mystique and Sabretooth pretend not to know their own brothers, there's two separate Emma Frosts.... don't bother trying to make sense of it.
7:00 That's Caliban. definitely a mutant from the comics although he's very different in this movie. He does keep the mutant ability to find other mutants though.
29:00 He isn't healing because the adamantium has been building up in his bloodstream and it's maxing out his healing factor just to keep him alive. This is usually how Wolverine ages in the comics.
Yeah we decided it is best that way. Besides it deserves its own glory this movie blew the others out the water 🔥🔥🔥🔥 did not have an X-men feel. This was about Logan and wolverine himself which we loved!

This was the Wolverine we all wanted..sure we wanted a young Wolverine doing the Woods scene for 20 yrs but also, what's the drama in that? Beyond him fighting the Hulk or a Superman that's a tuff movie to make. Yet, this shows his pain and struggle. What he is best at is horrific..there is no way for him to fight, even when corned that it literally doesn't give PTSD..he couldn't be in Captain America Civil War because he just kills or lops off lims. Unlike the PG movies where he pokes everyone in the chest w/o blood..either way you still die but he kills ppl. It's not pleasant..he literally is scarier than the way they treat the hulk prior to MCU..Like a poison..or u stay back until last minute or last result..it sucks that Hugh is done but it was a great finish!

I really haven't watched the X-Men franchise, I mean I watched X Men first class and Dark Phoenix. I cannot recall if I watched any other ones but does look like an interesting franchise to watch. Is there a certain order you have to watch them? Or can you watch them in order when they came out? Cause if I am going to watch this franchise I want to make sure that I do it right!
This one is pretty much a stand alone film it’s nothing like the others. So watching just this one is ok.! But if you want to know full story of X-men in general watching from the first one is cool too !

Was 15 when this movie came out. Hell yea I cried man 😂. I hadn't cried in a movie since and then Toby McGuire made his appearance on spiderman. Just know the tears was flowing. Also I know this is old but I think wolverine was tricked into killing all the X-Men.

So when xmen days of future past happened and logan went basically back in time, they changed the course of history not only for mutants but also for a lot of humans and mutants dying/not dying, because they changed the future charles was never killed by jean, years later not as many mutants were being born so they began to die out and then an experimental off the books company began experimenting on mutants, hunting down mutants, taking parts of their DNA and putting them together in a laboratory environment to try and make their own living weapons to sell on, there are still mutants around the world but there is hardly any naturally born mutants still alive in this new reality for mutant kind

This movie does not follow the other X-Men movie timeline. There are many comic book runs and issues all with separate stories not related to the MCU. This is based off of the old man Logan issues. The best X-Men movie overall in my opinion.

Disney bought Fox Studios to reincorporate the X-Men/Deadpool for sure and there's a very strong possibility of future Fantastic Four. Sony is still ruining most of their solo projects, so hopefully Disney pulls all of Marvel back under one umbrella and we get better movies because of it. I don't think R ratings hurt the $927,000,000 worldwide gross on this film either, so I'd love to see more like it.

a lot of the x-men were killed by professor x when he had 1 of his breakdowns that he had at the casino and a lot of mutants died drinking the drink that make up stay awake
Lol the rest of the X-Men died before the casino scene. The news you hear at the car is just them reporting about that casino aftermath being the same as the one where Charles accidentally kills the X-Men
