Movie Summary:

Hulk's rage is limiteless, so his power is also limitless, hence the classic comic book quote. "The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets!"
Yup..that i remember reading the comics..
Shame on the infinity war though.
yeah shame that's not the case in mcu, but I kinda feel like there's a brief power up in hulks strength in this movie, when abomination stabbed him in the chest he saw betty and his eyes glow and then became stronger and moved his arm with one hand when he was having trouble moving it with two hands seconds ago. Shame universal doesn't let marvel use that power for the future films.
Because of his childhood with his dad and being experimented on so with abomination he is just stuck at that one strength which in base form is stronger than hulk but as the fight continues hulk will eventually grow stronger

I love the design of this Hulk, how Banner's eyes turn Green right before transforming, and his animalistic roar in this film. The perfect Hulk would be This Hulk with 2003 Hulk's powers.

The one thing I like better about the 2003 hulk is that you actually SEE him get BIGGER the angrier he gets. I want the MCU hulk to do that.
But minus the increasing size because last time I checked, he did not have to grow because he can retain the same size as he gets angrier and stronger.

One thing that has to be noted. This is the first Hulk in the MCU. The first Hulk movie with Eric Bana that was dircted by Ang Lee was made by Universal Studios BEFORE there was an MCU.
That 3rd transformation into The Hulk actually looks agonizingly painful when you see Bruce's muscles, bones and skin stretching out.
People talk down about this movie because they saw Ruffalo in Avengers and (rightfully) love him. But, making a solo Hulk film is a huge challenge. Not saying Mark can’t do it, but Marvel hasn’t tried since this one because the inner turmoil is too extensive to hold a wide audience. Norton is superb bringing humanity to Hulk. People want “Hulk Smash!”. This film gives you both.
Ruffalo made a better Banner, but this movie's depiction of Hulk is the very best of all versions.
No. Marvel hasn't made another Hulk solo movie because Universal has publishing rights. If Ruffalo is down for it I would be very surprised if we don't get a Hulk movie in a few years when the rights have expired.

Ross made Banner attempt to replicate it, and they thought gamma radiation was the key, but they were wrong. Its not the same serum, but a failed one.

I love this Hulk but I've always been jealous of his awesome hair in this, like that was some super awesome hair conditioner he had. Loved the three of you doing this viewing together.
This movie was inspired as a homage to the classic TV show Incredible Hulk, starring Bill Bixby as Dr David banner and Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk, who was a professional bodybuilder and he was huge 😎

There are a few call backs and references to the 70’s TV series; some of them include:
- “Don’t make me hungry”…a nod to the line “Don’t make me angry, you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.”
- The green eyes that signal the Hulk-out refers to the white eyes from the TV Show.
- Lou Ferrigno; who played The Hulk on TV appears as a security guard who gets bribed by pizza; and also provides the voice of The Hulk in this film.
- The university where Banner reunites with Betty Ross; Culver University, is a nod to the Culver Institute; where Banner worked in the pilot episode of the TV show.
- During the university battle, one of the students who recorded it for the news was Jack McGee. In the series, McGee was the one who pursued Banner/The Hulk throughout the series.

1:44 Guess which one I grew up with? Ang Lee's 2003 Hulk, so of course that's the one that is my personal favorite. It's understandable that people who's just now getting around to seeing it for the first time, may not understand it as much as people like me who literally grew up with it. And I think it's a lot more underrated than most people may realize.
There's lots of yt videos that goes deep into why that movie is so great. I recommend checking some out.
For me personally tho, I love Bana Hulk's look, the way he's more thicker and buffer, where as Edward's Hulk appears slightly slimmer in comparison. Bana's Hulk actually GREW BIGGER at one point when he got more angry, which is accurate to the comics and the purpose of his character (Aka, the angrier he gets, the stronger he gets). To be fair tho, Norton's Hulk also demonstrated this when he overpowered Abomination at the end.
Bana's Hulk showed INCREDIBLE feats of strength while battling the army. I could honestly go on and on, but when it comes down to it, these sorts of things are usually very subjective. Regardless of the impressive feats one character may show, there will always be others who doesn't like something about them. And that's totally fine; different strokes for different folks and all that, but I know we can agree on one thing... *Erik Bana's Hulk wasn't no goddamn pushover, I'll tell you that.*
The shear aggression that came from that Hulk still gives me chills til this day. 😍
Make no mistake about it tho, this Hulk is pure badassery as well! Bana's and Norton's Hulks are WOLVES, whereas Ruffalo's Hulk is now just a Chihuahua... *sigh* 😒🐶
I grew up with Ferrigno's Hulk, which was better than Bana's, but Norton's Hulk is the best of all. (Although his Banner leaves much to be desired.)
Bana's Hulk got nearly everything wrong, especially the getting larger thing. That is not remotely comics accurate. Some _artists_ may have gone with that visual depiction, but even they never did it to such a ridiculous degree. At the rate he was growing, he'd be at least the size of a literal mountain by the time World War Hulk came around.
Similarly, you might not realize this, but Saitama's fist doesn't literally grow to the size of a house when he throws a serious punch.

The sad part of this film, they had a lot of scenes cut about the military, Bruce and Betty, and Leonard and gives them more depth.

It was the super soldier serum they gave to captain America. They gave it to abomination in the beginning.
Even the first hulk by Ang Lee was referenced in this hulk just as this hulk is referenced in the Avengers. They are relatively connected.
It was an easter egg. They are not connected. Marvel came out saying that they are not in the same universe, but the origin story is pretty much the same. MCU Banner became the Hulk the same way Eric Bana became Hulk, but everything else is different.

Awesome reaction as always! I really love this movie, and even though Mark Ruffalo takes over as Bruce Banner in future movies, Graham Norton was still really good in this one. And I appreciate The Hulk and The Incredible Hulk sort of equally. They each have their highs and lows.

By the end of the movie they set up the "Leader" which is a popular hulk villain that could have easily been in the sequel.... but as for politics and copyrights and ownership... the MCU never fully got Hulk ... so ever since then he's just been in other's movies besides his own

@darktitan6308 Well, i respect your opinion. But starting with 2003, i like those old Marvel movies. Like 2003 Hulk, Fantastic 4, Ghostrider, Incredible Hulk, X-Men movies, second Ghostrider movie. Both Punisher movies and even first Daredevil movie. Sure, many of them are not perfect but i still like them. They became classic for me that started it all. And then first Ironman and Captain America came out and that is where everything started for real.

This the Hulk we wanted and deserved in the MCU but instead we got a pussy Hulk because both Disney and Marvel HATE the bad ass Hulk. Norton wanted creative control over the character and wanted to keep Hulk badass. In this movie you really got to know Bruce's Character and his relationship/conflict with his Hulk side. This is why Norton was fired from the MCU. The MCU wanted a cookie cutter Hulk because this Hulk would have curbed stomped Thanos at their first meeting.

I liked both. This one had a cooler looking Hulk and a more fast paced story. The cgi was better but not by as much as people say. It was more so the design that people liked more over that bright green one in the other movie. The 03 Hulk had a better depiction of Hulk tho. Honestly the best outta all of them. The story was also more accurate and explains his trauma more than any of the other ones. I always thought that if they combined the looks and the feel of both versions of the Hulk then we'd get a damn good Hulk movie. And thats what I thought we'd get after Avengers cause he was pretty good in that and looked like a mix between the 2. Sadly not tho
@DarkTitan that's already better than a lot of what we've gotten. I'd take 03 hulk over either of the new ones any day with just a few tweaks to his look. Ruffalo's hulk coulda been something after avengers 1 but not anymore, and 08 hulk was cool looking but pretty weak.
@DarkTitan Nah 08 hulk was pretty weak comparatively. He struggled to lift a humvee in one scene. Both the other hulks had better feats of strength and 03 hulk actually got stronger like he's supposed to.
I don't really think abomination's height matters much but he's supposed to be able to match hulk in base form. Also avengers hulk showed the best feats of strength so he's far from the weakest. He destroyed a whole Leviathan in one punch which is something 08 hulk is nowhere near doing in terms of feats.
Comics hulk has never picked up the hammer with pure strength unless we're talking the ultimate universe which isn't canon. He wasn't supposed to pick it up in the movie because strength isn't what picks up the hammer.
And sure 03 hulk's storyline mighta been boring but I'm just strictly talking about hulk not the movie as a whole. If you were to compare just the hulk's then 03 hulk showcased his powers better. He's faster, stronger, bigger, and has his healing factor unlike the other 2. And they didn't turn him or his storyline into a joke like he is in the mcu.
I ALWAYS preferred THIS Hulk becouse of how almost feral he looked. The Hulk is sapposed to be pure power and aggression given form and voice. So that chiseled supercut, with the emphasized vains give him that look of always being stripped and ready.

Whenever people say they prefer Norton as Banner, I usually say, “it’s too bad Norton preferred MORE MONEY over you”
Because basically what happened was, he wanted to change just enough of Banners dialogue in the first Avengers film, so that he could be credited as one of the “writers” of the movie, and thus, get 2 checks instead of 1 Marvel didn’t like the changes and said “no”- so Norton walked and swore to never work with Marvel again. Ruffalo accepted the role, and was not GREEDY.🙄
I still prefer Norton over Ruffalo... Ruffalo's Banner/Hulk is a joke.
