If anyone here has dreams of becoming one of the best in the world I genuinely hope it comes true. I’m trying so hard for my dream to become reality. Keep grinding my people I hope you all make it including myself
How many hours do you work hour in one day
@@sadifreestylealif1616 Every day I’ve been doing at least 3 hours of training either building my legs/ speed training / stamina building / ball work / passing / game situations - I’m a fullback
Bro I am a right wing player which things I have to focused most
@@sadifreestylealif1616 I’d say pace /acceleration/ ball control/ crossing / shooting / dribbling
@@MohammadAli-rk8sb same im a fullback too
Q & A:
How do you manage to get past the mental part of soccer: nerves, adapting to a team, bad performances, negative thinking, etc..
Experience
Ya hope he picks this question
Matt pick this one
it is different for everybody
Still letting you know it's not that simple it's experience
These videos are such a blessing, this years off-season series is gonna be amazing too🙌🏼
I am subbed to you
Q&A: Do you like defending or would you still rather be a striker like you were in high school?
Q&A: How does the transfer process look like in college soccer?
Im 20 and I have 2,586 hours and Im professional soccer player in the 3rd Mexican Division, watching this push me to train a lot more. Thanks
How do you know how many hours you have??
Or is that an estimate
@@redditreads9478 I counted every single hour of training since I start aprox and that was the result, so yes, It's an approximate, but I think it could be quite more
@@TheDanyGamerMX woow i should start doing that
@@TheDanyGamerMX really well done btw
Absolutely fascinating matt thanks a lot for sharing
His work ethic is simply awesome
Great Video! You've been wanting to make this video for ages aswell! 🙌💯
So fascinated by the fact that Matt still knows how many hours he did train when he was 10 😬
Love to see the progression of Vince through this serie, he's definitely improving his touch !
All those hours just to lose to me in Two - Touch ;) hahah Top video Bro
Hahaha! Loved your recent defending video, got lots of tips bro
@@jordanelliote7550 Thank You, im doing a giveaway at 1,000 Subs! stay tuned
Amazing and motivating series
8:19 Sooooo true✌🏾 Thank you for sharing all your knowledge, information and experiences matt, I love it! ❤️❤️❤️
Hey Matt, love the breakdown, there’s also a lot of research now into the benefits of playing multiple sports as a kid so I wouldn’t discount that experience too much in terms of hindering your soccer career as it may have actually helped you get to where you are despite being a late bloomer! I grew up playing Basketball, Soccer and Cricket and even played Indoor Cricket for my state & for Australia before switching to Australian Rules Football when I was 17- I then got signed to my first semi-pro team when I was 19! Still playing semi-pro (currently 22) and have had multiple trials with teams at the pro level hoping to make that step up. There’s no way I would’ve done 10,000 hours of work towards Aussies Rules, I’ve probably only done a couple thousand because I started so late, but I’ve probably put in 10,000 hours of sport training in total across all my sports!
Thank you Matt for this amazing off-season series
Hey Matt, I’ve been following you since the days you were in Germany, you’ve inspired me so much to improve myself. You’re my favorite CZcamsr and have awesome content! I’d love to meet you in the future to thank you in person and maybe a session... wish you the best for your career!
I was a very late bloomer.. I started getting into football at like the age of 10 and I was only playing normal football with friends at recess.. at 13 I developed a passion for it and began training alone and became very gd.. I’m now 16 but I feel like I missed out on a lot and may have to face the fact that I may never become a professional football player but am grateful for everything.
I don’t know how to know how many hours I trained 😂
@@dylandiallo4799 😂😂😂
You can Be a pro at 17
You can still be a late bloomer to become pro. Some folks don’t kick on auntil later years, and sometimes they have development spurts where things click a lot more in a short period of time. Confidence is the most important factor.
Train 1k hours a year and I bet you'll get there before 25 years old
Phenomenal video. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for breaking this down for us
Loving this matt❤️
Great content for the upcoming footballers out there, Matt! Yet, what I do believe is that you have hit the 10,000 hours a bit earlier, since as you said, you only included the physical part. However, I think that after training, whether you are alone or not and reflecting on what you need to do, in order to improve this or that, I still believe this is where you also grow.
Another thing I want to share is the fact that it seems as if teams in the US do not train as much in terms of hours. Yes, it is about quality after all, but another 30-40minutes extra could be done from teams from time to time, if not always. Keep it up and stay healthy!
Great video. Well done Mat !
Unreal video my guy
Q&A: What's the hardest thing about transition from college to professional?
i was waiting for another upload even though its only been like 2 days
Q & A: You mentioned you had a private trainer when you were younger. What should you look for in a private trainer and what are some questions you should ask a private trainer before hiring them?
It makes me feel better to know you did not start club soccer until age 11. That is when I tried out earlier this year. I thought I would be behind and would not do well. But now I am the top scorer this season and helped my team go number 1 in our WDDOA division.
Q &A:
How can I better my composure and my decision making when on the ball under pressure?
Used to play a lot in middle school and stopped when I got into high school and never played again since. I’m 21 now and I’m starting to play again w just friends. Anyway, watching Messi win the WC kind of brought my interest back again
Q&A: What are the aspects of mastering dribbling and taking on players.
Q & A: What strength exercises should a teenager work on (besides weights)
I’ve seen people say lots of time isn’t needed. Just the time you spend has to be well spent to get to your max potential
Q & A: Matt please i have few question. how good was level of football in germany?what was the biggest difference against US? How well you were paid? and last question is how you communicated with people who did not speak English? Thank you and wish u all the best Matt❤️
in itlay we got quarentined again and it's been almost 2 weeks since I started training and doing gym exercises and I have improved so much and it's all because of you cause your videos motivate me so much 🙏🙏
Training and games under the rain Just hits different... ⚽️💙⚽️💙
Q&A: what are your plans after your professional career? Will you look at coaching certificates or more of a personal trainer and what weight will you try to stay at knowing that you have a strict diet.
Q & A
What do you do when your playing bad and want to get ur form back up?
Any advice for people who most likely can’t play till the next year’s summer?
Some of my coaches have told me that the amount of time doesn’t matter a short amount of time can go a long way as long as the time is well spent
@Dimia x ofc
Loving the off season series rn!
Q&A : Hello matt
Can you tell me how can I request team as a semi-pro player to train with pro team
Great video
I’m not going to lie the 10,000 is definitely required in terms of hours in the game! But even more is required to make sure you really get to your goals! Never ending work. Once you get there you’ll want more and more! Stay grinding everyone & Good luck with your off-season Matt
Bro I am your fan
the editing ................ 👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌😘😘😘😘
Q&A When do you think you should switch teams and how is the transition ?
My guy. I play in the USL also and I can put you in touch with some guys in Portland if you need we have a few on our team.
Been watching since I was 12 in 2014 when you were in Germany. Now I’m 18 and I’m planning to go to Poland to play pro ⚽️ Thanks Matt
Q&A: How should one accommodate for poor weather when training? Is it best to not waste your time training and do some other type of training, or should one continue to train in things like heavy wind which will give you a poor session?
Sir your all videos so good i love you sir
Matt the GOAT
Q&A: How long before the season starts should you begin doing conditioning training?
I do conditioning training all year round. It incredibly benefits my fitness
Jesus the scenery is so freaking beautiful
Did Matt include games and also warming up?
Q&A: Sort of a position specific tactical question, but as an outside back when is it appropriate to join the attack and when is it a better choice to stay in the back line and not commit to an attacking movement.
Watch his game analysis’
What I’ve have been told is attack when the ball is on your side and stay back when it’s on the other side and also depends on if your coach wants you to attack or stay back
Q&A What is your advice for a youth player who has had two major injuries in the past year that kept them out for 3+ months each? How can that player get back to their top form both mentally and physically?
Hey Matt,
I want you to tell us about a good age to start gym,
Thank You
Great work by the way
Depends how you develop but start of high school ish
About the start of high school, 14 or 15
I started in January at 16, I was/am a bit of a late developer so to start earlier than that likely would’nt have gotten as good results as training football instead. A wise gym trainer once said that you should start weightlifting when you get facial hair
Love the vid. But how do u know, how hours you trained as a 10, 11 or 12 year old?
Haha. If I lived there I'd be playing with you for sure. Those kids gotta learn how to play.
Great video. Learned a lot to encourage and help my daughter achieve her goals. The only think I would say is I think your other sports would count are not a waste of time. I watch a lot of America pro interviews and I have heard several say that basketball at the younger ages helped them and one said she would not have made it pro without the experience she had playing basketball. My daughter is 11 now and only plays basketball to make her better at soccer. I am in encouraging her to run track for a year or 2. I worry about her doing a little to much at her age. What do you think, can she overwork her body at this age?
Q&A: if you had to play for another team in the USL who would you play for?
Inspirational
Q&A: How many off/recovery days do you recommend for youth players
Q and A: What is the greatest mental break through/realisation/advice you have ever had that helped you become the player you are today mentally and physically?
Q&A: who is the best player you have ever played with or against?
Q&A: So yesterday a new article came out in The Athletic which went over Richie Ledezma’s development from an academy player in the US to playing in PSV’s youth ranks and now first team in Europe. He referenced how Mexican adult Sunday leagues helped him build up his confidence and style of play as a youngster. Did you play Sunday League as a 14-21 year old? And would you recommend a 14-18 year old play in adult Sunday leagues for their development?
In the US, most leagues have insurance rules that limit players under 16 from participating with adults. That said, I highly recommend it.
Best off-season series yet👀
Q & A:
How did you balance football training with the gym when you were still in school? Would you maybe train 2 times some days doing both or do u recommend only doing one of the 2 a day?
In general, would you rather do physical training or football training. (Benefits, what do u prefer, time, effort)?
Matt sheldon and @7mlc collab is what we need pls
Q+A: How do you/Mimi/Your parents feel about every off season having to pick up your life, move out of the city you were playing in and move back home? I'm sure it is tough on you never being able to settle down for a long period of time, as well as Mimi having to find new work that will only be temporary. Do you plan on always going back home for offseason for your whole career, even into your 30s?
Q&A: what makes a good team-mate?
Q&A: Are your off-season training sessions open to anyone, provided they are an adequate standard?
My plan is play in D1 in thailand. Hope you guys make it. You succeed
Your attacking play is better than ever
Q:A
What should you do if your in a situation where you want to go pro but are getting older and still can’t find a team to play for either from not being near one not being able to afford it or not being able to tryout due to the virus.
Keep grinding. My cousin was 17 and didn’t have a team. He was thinking of giving up, his performances were dropping. He played for his town. However, he didn’t give up, he kept his grind on and got offered a trial for a club. He is now playing in the English 3rd division.
Q&A: Do you believe that when you are a pro you should play at the highest level possible
or should you settle for any team/ league just because you want to play at the professional level
Big complement to Mimi for always filming for him, even in the rain.
Hey man, I'm 16 and Turning 17 in a few months, I haven't played soccer in a year and a half and also suffered a really bad knee injury (almost done with recovery), and I was wondering is there any hope of me making it pro in the U.S? Or at least playing D1 College? If so, what steps do I need to take. Take in mind, I have very little team experience and the highest level I've played at thus far has been travel teams.
Q&A: What is a good example of an individual, partner, and group deliberate training session?
Q&A: Do you count your calories? Why/why not? And how do you measure your resting metabolism?
This shows why becoming elite in the UK is so much harder. 3.3 million undee 15 year olds play organised football every week. Most train oncevir twice for their club and play matches once or twice a week. Football is played in schools in the breaks but also in school teams. Kids who are decent often play for their district tooo or in development centres. I reckon most engaged kids have done 10, 000 hors by 14/15. Especially considering many toddler football schools start at 3 years of age.
I was quite a player last year or so, but was never the fittest player on the team. I played good but didn't have much stamina. And due to this lockdown and stuff, It got even worse. I lost every little bit of fitness I had and gained a lot of weight. I am now finding ot difficult to get back into exercising and working. My mental state is also quite fucked up atm. I have to travel to England next year to join an academy. What can I do to improve my mentality and get back working and losing weight and working out
Q&A: Matt why do you think soccer in America is centered around fitness and running while overseas first touch and technical skills are ingrained in the youth from an early age?
Bad coaching in the US.
US male teams are behind of new styles of training. You see allot of that in College soccer and UPSL old school just fitness exercise. That's my thought tho 😂
I can’t wait to meet you one day
U deserve more likes
Question: so you counted 10,000 hours of work with the ball. Do you think you should also include the hours of sessions without the ball (fitness etc.) or only with the ball?
Can u teach low driven pass please like your tiktok
Q/A can you improve fitness for football by doing bodyweight exercises for high intensity with small intervals of time..like tabata training. Will that help you reach match fitness
Yes. It will help. But doing intense on-ball work will give you both technique and fitness.
@@shantiescovedo4361 I do alot of ball work 2 hrs 20 mins a day and other than that I do exercises plyo etc actually I'm not in my apartment rn so I can't do much of running I'm in my native and I train on terrace..I still want to keep fit so I was just wondering if tabata or hiit training would help thanks alot
@@Claw2725 My point is that you can incorporate the ball in your hi it work. Set a stop watch and go as intensely as you can for one minute, then rest for one minute or do something less intense like juggling. If you want to make it a little more physical, add ten jump lunges before your rest. Repeat that type of pattern for a half hour. That will help more than two hour sessions.
@@shantiescovedo4361 oh ok..I'll do that alongside my other sessions thanks alot man
If I ever make it pro which hopefully I do then I have this guy to thank
Q@A: COLLEGE SOCCER procces vs mls and pro football
Q&A: what’s the best piece of advice a coach/team mate/ mentor etc has ever given you?
I'm getting in the grind this winter, imma be a different beast baby🤬
Q&A
Matt, how do you grind out training on the days when you just don’t feel like it. Or how do you still have that motivation even on off days?
Just think that when you don’t feel like training for whatever reason, someone is and is working more than you. You not being where you want to be should be enough motivation.
Look up his video named "Motivation".
@@shantiescovedo4361 thanks that’s a really good video!
@@shantiescovedo4361 thanks that’s a really good video!
Never seen you play offense with others. Did you try out for defense or were you placed there for the team. With the rough necks❓❔
Ronaldinho Gaucho was the that inspired me to play this beautiful game 🤘
Q&A: Can you ask your coach to sign me on to your team?
Dear sir, may I ask what can I do if I were to start training at an older age ie 27 plus. Thanks for your a response
vid & a half!
Q&A: what is one reason (or multiple) why many of the players you have played with in the past didn’t make it professional?
I playerd in division four and I started training for 3 hours a day and I somehow made the top team the next year with ease but I lost motivation and now that I gained it back I want to double what I use to do
