This is of course common when it comes to arms deals of such complicated systems, but Australia can't really wait. The western forces in the east must increase fast to contain China. French pride is a small price to pay, especially for Australia, who are far more reliant on the US, UK and Japan, when it comes its national security. If Europe had a united military and a large blue water navy with bases and ships in the pacific, it would be another matter (not as in threatening Australia, but as in being a useful partner for the containment of China). As of now, Europe is trying to play both sides and is far more concerned over a potential trade war than Chinas rising military power in the pacific.

And because of this... The French shouldn't (and weren't) be suprised regarding the cancelations. Although they were probably surprised about this US step-in to meet an Australian requirement. France is usually transactional in its military relations with most of the Anglo-sphere or even NATO (1966-2009), and always France first. On top of that economic powers of Europe are less supportive of "hold China to international law" China policy as they need China more than the US does... Although Austrilia needs them more than either, they have a proximity issues that France and Germany don't... Macrons government is using this as a cudgel, Yankee bashing and decrying victimhood, generally go over well in internal politics, and China likes hearing it as well.

The United States is literally the only force countering China ATM. European countries under-spend in military and eastern europe loves US protection against Russia - which is why you'll see those countries kissing up to the US while western europe just doesn't care because they aren't under threat. Asian countries that want to resist China need the USA because its pretty much the only protection they're gonna get until they can improve their own military capabilities.

We in India knew there were huge industrial corridors being built between all the mega cities of India like the Mumbai-Delhi, Chennai-Banglore corridors etc. Now I understand it's not just connecting internal cities but connecting the world trade. This was the plan all along for "Make in India" initiative. Thanks for the details, we are now able to connect the dots.

That's a point where I completely agree my friend. Doing business in India is a pain for Indians themselves, let alone foreigners or Import/Export. A lot of bureaucracy still remains, and undermines India's true potential. But things are indeed changing, and regulations are becoming better, if the Doing Business Rankings and other metrics are considered. Still a long way to go though.

as someone who imports from India, i can attest to this notion too. Sometimes i feel that the Indian manufacturers are blind sighted by their massive domestic, that they have little to no interest to put in extra work to capture market elsewhere. Which makes cooperation with them almost impossible sometimes.

Just throwing this out there: Indian food. Open 1 restaurant in every country. Pretty soon, there will be dozens, then thousands. Restaurants could open gift shops, gas stations, and provide groceries (to make Indian food at home of course). Indian food is some seriously great stuff, and food trade & diplomacy worked well in the U.S. in the early 1900's for Italian food and 1990's for Chinese food.
