This is true. The Guyanese side of my family looks just as Indian as the Indian side of my family. They even eat the same foods but they also have many of their own dishes including some with a Chinese twist to them. Just delicious

He overheard people in public one day speaking his language. He was shocked and surprised that they spoke a dialect of Tamil and they could understand each other. He asked them where they were from and how they spoke a language similar to his, since they were Africans. They told him their ancestors came from India long ago.
