  • In Mauritania, the Harmattan blows, a dry, dusty wind that sweeps across the desert regions until it bury crops and villages; Sid Ahmed and Mohamed supply these landlocked areas; they are among the only ones to venture there.

ONE of the most touching documentaries I've ever watched! After watching this documentary I realized how much we take things for granted and how much we don't appreciate the life that we have! My prayer is that one day God blesses me and I'll be able to travel to that desert and help whenever I can 😭😭😭😭

And don't forget India! People have become so snobbish and thankless because of 💰. That's the huge middle and upper middle class the nation has. Millions have been lifted from poverty and their kids don't appreciate as well. Those are the lower middle class. Must have some respect and knowledge of the fact, they're lucky!

I am trying to get a complete set of Tunisia. I love that part of Africa. I worked in Nigeria and I can vouch that people have a misconception about most other people in the world. One cannot overestimate the value of these documentaries in fostering understanding and tolerance.

We used to load iron ore in Noudhibou for Antwerp about 100,000 Tonnes in the late eighties . If there is something called hell this was it. Iron ore dust used to permeate into everything and every where. It used to take 2 days to load and by the time loading was over there was nearly 2 feet of iron ore dust on deck. One had to cover himself completely as due to strong winds you would be covered in no time. You have to spend half an hour in the shower to get rid of iron ore specks and your face would bleed as they would scratch your face as sharp tiny edges would be there in the particles. There was one Viatnemese pilot only to berth and unberth vessels and no sign of people elsewhere. Took nealry 2 days to wash the ship down/.

Thank you so much. Life changing. I respect these people despite such harsh conditions, still earning a living. For example; my wife is complaining about living in hell, being married to me. Yet as pensioner 65, we are rich beyond measure. My career was uninterrupted for 45 years. I built all our houses (alone after hours, took me ~40 years). She is a qualified teacher, yet could never keep a job. Always spent her pension monies on furniture. Today we have no debt. Three cars, purchased cash (two which I registered in her name). Yet all the petrol, insurance, maintenance I'm taking care of. Not boasting but we have everything in abundance, including food and savings. Solar power. We are living in a huge double story house with 5 bedrooms as well as two extra properties being rented out. We are Christians, donating lots to the poor, yet my wife insists that she manages my pensioen money. Her lifestyle is her weekly pedicure, manicure and hairdressing visits and ladies tea parties. Always surrounding her with our rich ( but wonderful) friends, she hardly ever wash dishes or make the bed etc etc. (because of fear damaging her nails). She has a (wonderful) black lady to do house cleaning once a week. Herself totally lazy. Spoilt rotten comes to mind. I can't help to wonder about Jesus' teachings: "Those who were last shall be first". "Blessed are the poor, blessed are the meek, blessed are the sad ones.....etc, for they shall inherit the Kingdom of God" Love from Africa.

They should show these documentaries in our school.
It would change our future generations in how they see their own lives and how others live across the world. if their are any teachers watching this please show it to your class.

Just found Best Documentary and the Deadliest Journeys documentaries are incredibly fascinating. One never sees the camera crews and their support staff and vehicles but the journey must be brutal for them as well.
For contrast I am a Canadian seeing a desert and villages being victimized by global warming at 3am on my stomach in a comfortable bed and on the other side of the glass five feet away the temperature is -10C and the wind chill makes it -25C which can kill the unprepared in hours.
At this moment most of North America is swallowed in a massive, violent 2,000 kilometre long storm as I write this and millions of Americans are without power or heat in freezing temperatures and the airlines are crippled, cancelling thousands of flights because there is NO flying in this weather.
What a planet we live on!
Glad I found you, Best Documentary. I've subscribed with white bell and henceforth always a 👍.
    Merry Christmas from Ottawa, ON!

You all do a great job. My only nit pick is blaming current climate on global warming. I simply do not buy what politicians are trying to sell. Like trying to make me by a $60,000 electric car to help save emissions...when most cannot afford it, charging is a pain, has anyone really looked into the environmental cost of producing the new EVs and all of the thousands of batteries?
anyway. Great documentary as always and I appreciate the extreme work that goes into these. Thank you
