      I don't think it's even trans activism. It's the usual drones who constantly have their fingers out to test which way the wind is blowing culturally and morally and then ostracize anyone who doesn't walk in lockstep towards whatever way that wind is blowing. Same people who would have supported the Nazis and Soviets, just utter soulless facsimiles of human beings.

      It also reveals how cowardly the bystanders are. People don't want to even be associated with him, but they agree with him, they can see what's being done to him is unjust? But they know associating with him would harm their own career.... I'm sorry, this stuff is scary, because it's a bystander effect on a mass scale. At what point do you stop being such a coward?
      Sorry, it makes me so angry. I know people don't want to get fired - but not even being allowed to sign a letter asking for a less toxic debate is as mild as you can get! And THAT gets you destroyed? If people don't stand up, it will slide into an authoritarian situation quickly.

    The bit about using the term 'queer' really got me. I am black and I recall another black person 'affectionately' calling me the n word for the first time ever as a teenager. It felt like a punch to the face. One person's reclaiming is another person's trauma.

    • @tomschutzer-weissmann5245
      @tomschutzer-weissmann5245 Před rokem +6

      There's also a political / philosophical side to it because "queer" was reclaimed in the name of queer theory, which many gay people don't want to be associated with because they consider it bullshit. It's a bit like assuming that a black person must vote Labour, etc.

    • @Gandalf606
      @Gandalf606 Před rokem +2

      Totally agree. The opposite term to 'straight' was ofcourse 'bent'. But that got changed to 'gay', which is odd becuase the opposite of gay is 'sad'. The terms 'bent' and 'queer' refered to what were once considered 'abnormal orientations'. The terms are BOTH still offensive to many. So it is very odd that 'queer' is being brought back. If so, then the term 'bent' is also applicable. No, it's time the majority stand up to the aggressive minority activists who are trying to change societies language. No - they DON'T get to do that. Lagnuage grows organically over time. And not on the whim of fanatical narrow minded activists. If they insist on using the term 'queer' - then we ALL have a right to use the term 'bent'. Or ban BOTH.

      @@obiwankenobi687
      In fact I'm not sure the decision was made by BF either; they're afraid of activist fans cancelling subscriptions. The BBC is not so fan pandering - BBCs Doctor Who has casual viewers; BF only has fan consumers. Doctor Who fandom has a disproportionately high representation of neuroatypical and gender non conforming individuals partly because the hero is eccentric, so he attracts eccentric people. That doesn't mean they agree, but gender non-conforming people have a dog in the race on the trans debate, one side or the other - gender criticals say my sex is my biological sex, regardless of how I behave, regardless of who I fancy, regardless of what I look like, regardless of what I wear. The trans lobby on the other hand say biological sex doesn't have any bearing on what you are, so to the gender non-conforming offer identification as the opposite sex as a route to fitting in. So membership of either side depends on whether truth or conformity is more important to you; conformists go trans, rebels go gender critical. But the point is it's a fanbase susceptible to people choosing one of those two sides. Casual viewers mostly don't care; it's a bit of a non-issue to them. But the fanbase has a high incidence of people for whom it is a flash point.

    I'd like to say I'm surprised at Stonewall, but I'm just not. As a gay man I've been more and more disillusioned with the way they operate now. If you're not the 'right kind of' gay then they'll happily destroy you without a moment's pause. I and my small circle of gay friends now avoid anything they're involved with or trying to promote like the plague. I can't speak for Lesbians, Bi or Trans people (nor would I presume to even though we're all labelled under the same banner) but for me and my gay (male) friends, the sad truth is we don't feel Stonewall really represents us any more. Just like a political party such as Labour can lose touch with its founding principles and the core supporters it used to represent, so has Stonewall lost touch with the (most) gay men. It went from an organisation that used to advocate for equality for same-sex relationships to one that, quite honestly, no longer seems to be interested in that core mission statement any more.

    Thank you James for a brave and frank interview. People like you will be remembered for the way you stood up to these trans activist hooligans. I'm kicking myself for having just become aware of all the issues around trans. What have I been doing over the past fifteen years? As it happens, I've been busy bringing up three children who are now aged 10, 12 and 15, which makes it all the more poignant that these trans medications and surgical operations have been performed on children of this age! That is VERY scary, especially when you look at what's happening in the US - without the knowledge of the parents! WTF does the government think it's doing? Parents are the ONLY true advocates of their children. I know, because my eldest child has severe learning difficulties and the ONLY people who fought for her were us, her parents. If the Local Authority had it's way then she would be languishing in a Special School. It's good to know the Tavistock closed and even better that hundreds of lawsuits are in the pipeline regarding this medical tragedy. I'm angry with myself that I let this issue slip by unnoticed - but I listen to Radio 4's "Today" every morning and nothing has been discussed about this issue! It's completely crazy. I feel the media is manipulating us. Thank goodness for CZcams channels like this one - and the many brave people who've addressed the issue, often at the expense of their reputations and careers. A massive THANK YOU!!

I don't know how people have created a profession out of spouting Trans rights and how Richard and JK Rowling has become a target for saying that there is a woman and a man and that is it.

    I’m so sorry that James has suffered for doing the right thing and supporting JK Rowling, when she was supporting women. How did it become that supporting women or anyone for that matter, was in any way anti anything else. Tragically this stance has and is creating such a negativity towards trans people, which surely is what Stonewall should be fighting against not perpetuating.

    Loved this interview. James you are absolutely spot on with what you are saying. We just want a middle ground and they do not want to that. We are forced to comply or take the consequences. More powerful organisations need to push back on this ideology and say "no, it's not happening". Safety in numbers. The more people push back the more this will become, I do believe, the biggest scandal in the 21st Century. People need to view videos from de-transitioners more and listen to them. There was one I was watching called FamilyFirstNZ - Affirmation Generation Feb18. This should be given to schools not the material currently given to children that it's all unicorns and fairies and all miseries will disappear. NO they won't as that's life.
    Kellie-Jay Keen is running a Party called Party of Women. I really hope people get behind her and show that we are sick of this bullsh!t. It's misogynistic and homophobic (women and LBG groups have fought long and hard for equality) and it's like we are in a place now where it is more regressive than ever before.
    It is time to stand up now against the Trans movement and say NO. It is now or never!
    Let sense be common again!
