How to play Isengard
Step 1: *BUILD ME AN ARMY WORTHY OF MORDOR*
Mines! I remember using them against Balrogs. I was playing Isengard against several brutal armies with 2 or 3 being dark factions. I've created minefields on Balrog-dangerous directions (since bots were summoning Balrogs near their bases for some reason) and so often I would hear CABOOM ringing across the map. The most satisfying BFME1 experience ever. Killed more Balrogs than Valar armies in War of Wrath.
In case you wonder how it works - Balrog apply area of effect damage underneath him with each step. It probably also apply fire effect, because him stepping on Isengard mine would trigger it, like its a landmine. Usually only fire archers and berserkers would trigger them, but Balrogs too for some reason, giving you rather interesting way of dealing with big fiery guys.
Worth mentioning that against Mordor, you want to get Berserkers instead of Pikemen. Berserkers wreck Mordor infantry.
First, there were DRAMA TROLLS, now there are SIEGE WARGS! :D

Hello, thank you for making a guide for Isengard because I just finished the Good Campaign and started the Evil one and playing with Isengard it's a bit harder to play than with Rohan. I loved the part at the end where you explained in which cases you will find difficulties with Isengard against the different factions. Thank you for making these videos because they encourage me to play the game a lot.

I hate that Evil Factions don't have walls. It's such artificial difficulty that you're basically defenseless whenever the enemy presses the attack.

Nice vid, I have not played in years but since I discovered this channel I have been watching your videos, good memories come to my mind while watching this game again.
Just a question if you do not mind, why is Mordor so rough to play against as Isengard? I always thought Isengard had the upper hand with all its armory's improvements and overall stronger infantry and mounted units.
Mordor can build 5 orc pits and outspam isengard all the time with orcs and isengard would be forced to play defensive which gives Mordor lots of time to scale and once a nazgul is on the field isengard is screwed

I came across your videos recently and they've been incredibly entertaining and incredibly helpful. Not just for the gameplay and strats, but for finally being able to play this game again. I've missed it!
Which do you prefer to play most/which do you think is the best? BMFE 1, BFME 2, or RotWK? I remember loving the additional factions and custom heroes of the newer games when I was a kid, but coming back to it I'm finding I love the simplicity of the original game much more. I can't decide where I should spend my time lol.
It's like return to my teenager days. A pity it's not available nowadays.
actually it is, you just have to be willing to snag a crack, the game is not being sold/supported by EA anymore, so the fanbase has kept it all going.
You can easily found the cracked versions, there are even guides about it on youtube with links to where to find them. Giving EA gave up on it, it wouldnt even properly illegal
