  • The Mitsubishi ASX, an SUV that starts at around £16,000 and comes in in a range of models including 4 wheel drive, Petrol, Diesel, Automatic and Manual.
    A roomy vehicle with quite a bit of tech including reversing camera, keyless entry and cruise control, very comfortable and you can even upgrade to Nappa leather.
    All in all a great sport utility vehicle for the money.

    I replaced a Kuga with a base petrol model two years ago. Saw the diesel "writing on the wall". Five year warranty, service plan for three years and a dog guard brought it to around £17000. It drives well, good economy, extremely comfortable. Really well screwed together, not one cabin rattle after 30,000 miles. Needless to say I love it, conservative styling, sensible interior with no unneeded gizmos or clutter. It tows a ton ( 9 braked ) with no problems either. Dealership is fantastic too, service is while you wait. Lovely long distance cruiser too, a joy to own.

    Nothing but praise for 2019 Mitsubishi asx. Had it 18 months now. Love it . With only 9522 miles on the clock . And as for my local dealer. Again Nothing but praise as well 🙏

      Thank you, the ASX is a fantastic vehicle, we know many owners who love how robust they are.

    Well the old ASX was traded in last month. Forty-five thousand trouble-free and comfortable motoring. Replaced by another ASX of course. A 2019 Black Edition. A saving of over £7000 as the "new model" is on sale. That from my dealer Greys of Holbeach. A free towbar and three-year service plan thrown in. I am totally sold on this model and brand. Some will say "why not buy the new model"? Well, a saving like that and it was a no brainer. The ride has improved as now on 18" rather than 16" wheels. The level of kit is phenomenal too. One very satisfied bunny, l cannot recommend this car enough.

    I have watched a few of your videos now and I enjoy them.
    We bought a new shaped 1.6 petrol basic model in 2017. We are hoping to keep the car for another 15 years ( fed up of spending ££££££ on cars) , yes I wish we had DAB and reverse camera but this would have cost £2000 extra so didn't bother. A 6th gear would make motorway journeys quieter but noise levels not too bad. Overall it's a great car , should last 15 years of carefree motoring.

      @PlanetautoUK  Před 5 lety +1

      You’ve certainly picked a great vehicle, and Mitsubishi engines do last, there’s also the option of an aftermarket DAB unit, keep us posted on how ownership continues, thank you *ben

    Hello I have the ASX since 2016 and a Qashqai since 2017. I have two cars! ;-). The best point you made was a difference of 10,000£ I found it to be the same but 10,000€ here in Ireland. The 8 year warranty on the ASX is also a major bonus but I think it was only 5 in the UK in 2016?
    Good honest review.

    We hired on of these for one week while on holidays in Queensland. The biggest complaint would have to be the road noise over about 80km/h. At 100 or 110 KM/H the road noise was very loud and intrusive. For a 12 month old car with 25,000 KM on the clock I found this unacceptable. A conversation with people in the back found us raising our voices. Coming from a 2018 Ford Falcon I found this a deal breaker. Maybe a different set of tyres might help or this might be an inherent part of this cars design?. There was a lot to like and the fuel economy was staggering (coming from a falcon) but the road noise was really off putting.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Před 5 lety

      That’s strange, as you can tell from our in car sections, the noise in the cabin wasn’t intrusive, yes maybe smaller wheels, different tyres, was this on all roads or one specific type like a highway?

    • @WardyP
      @WardyP Před 5 lety +1

      @@PlanetautoUK all sealed highways and motorways. Only audible from over 90km but really noticeable. Maybe just needed different tyres but unsure as it was a hire car.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Před 5 lety +2

      That’s interesting to know, we were driving over 90km with nothing as noticeable as you describe. It would be interesting to see the difference with original tyres from manufacture presuming they’re different either that or something else.

    • @yakidin63
      @yakidin63 Před 5 lety

      The 2019 update has 3 extra safety additions plus some noise reduction. Be interesting to see the noise difference between the top of the range and the cheaper version.

    I have a 2018 asx 1.6 4 model which I bought for a good price but having driven it for 4 months I'm not that enamoured. My previous car was a 2012 fiat panda 4 x 4 which was fun to drive and fabulous in bad weather, however it came time to get rid of it due to repetitive suspension problems. I decided having retired that a 4 x 4 wasn't that essential and fancied something a bit bigger and a touch more luxurious. I do like the look and space of the asx and don't mind it being apparently dated as I don't like the more modern aggressively styled vehicles. However, I'm not impressed by the road noise, the mpg and the driving position. I don't like not being able to see the end of the front bonnet when parking and the column between the doors on the drivers side means I can't see the blind spot when I look round to check it. I'm going to keep it for a year to see if come to like it a bit more. I used to have a Spacestar back in the day and it was great, so reliable and built like a tank. It's a pity they don't have a comparable model in their range

    • @PlanetautoUK

      We found it a great all rounder, and as Mitsubishi have left the UK, it’s a shame we’ll see no more, thank you Julia

    Hi there, Nice video. Is it still worth to buy ASX 2018 used car with only 12,000 miles. Because I’m worrying about parts & service availability as Mitsubishi left UK . What’s your idea?

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Před rokem +1
