Thanks for explaining the clutch bleeding process !
No problem. Glad I could help!
Best video i have seen showing/explaning this. Great camera pointing compared to other youtubers. Your channel is way better than others i found earlier; hope you get more subscribers
Thank you so much for the positive feedback! Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video.
See you went with a simple line versus the hidden bypass (dremel or disc methods that transform an original accumulator to a dummy/bypassed accumulator, that’s effectively the same as tubing. But, it’s the best video i have seen of the actual process. Any reasons why you went with this versus other methods?
1 reason was I think just having the line looks cleaner and cleans up that area. 2 it's pretty tight in there and I didn't want to have to put it all back together. Plus I figured it would just be faster to pull it out, bend the line, and put it back together. Plus I'm out of warranty so I'm not too worried about keeping things looking stock under the truck.
What’s the usual method for catching fluid when the lines are first detached? How fast / forcefully will the dot3 or brake-type clutch fluid come out? Did you look up recommended torques to reattach, or just do by feel?
I actually laid big out a plastic trash bag (like a 50gallon bag) and just let everything fall onto that and then was able to wipe it up and dispose of it then. It wasn't a lot. And I just tightened everything to feel tight and checked for leaks after bleeding it.
Just buy the accumulator delete disk. It's $25-$35. Wont void your warranty like this. You still have to bleed wother way.
@Eastsidegeorgiaboy True. However my truck was out of warranty when I did this so I didn't have to worry about that. And I personally like having less stuff down there. Looks much cleaner in my opinion.
Do you have a part number or link for the bleeder you used?
I just bled it the old fashioned way by letting gravity work as much as possible and then pumping the clutch and holding it while breaking the bleeder valve loose and then tightening it back up and pumping it again. Doing that over and over again until it's bled. However I'm sure a cheap one from Harbor freight would work perfectly fine.
