  • Máire Treasa Ní Dhubhghaill is joined in the House of Rugby studio by Lindsay Peat and Johne Murphy as they look back on the weekend’s Six Nations and Ireland’s defeat to England.
    They look at the dying minutes of the game and Conor Murray’s decision to box-kick and whether it was the right or wrong decision.
    They discuss England’s approach to the game, how they managed to score three tries and exploit the Irish defence.
    And they look ahead to Ireland’s final game against Scotland as they look to wrap up the Six Nations title.
    Plus, we hear from Rob Kearney and get his thoughts on the defeat.

    This is why Ireland will not be able to beat SA in July. If you think England were applying pressure and physicality, its going to be doubled in the SA tests.

    I have seen Limerick win games that maybe they didn't quite deserve to win . .that's what class teams do. Saying that Ireland didn't deserve to win is nonsense and Farrell has a big question to answer about the last 2 minutes

    I think ireland had a better team at the WC with Johnny as captain any team would of found it hard against England Saturday when they play like that it reminded me off when England abouslouty destroyed NZ in the WC 2019 i it was sort off the same they just come to win and took the game with out giving the other team a chance they were just ruthless againt ireland and i think evan the irish players just looked shell shocked lol.

      This exactly what England did against the ABs in 2019 and against the Boks in 2023 in the semis but somehow the Boks dug very deep and managed the beat England. Ireland were beaten and i don't think even Sexton would've made a difference. Personally i think they lack big match temperament.

    Ireland were ambushed a bit. England gave no evidence that they were capable of that performance. Question can they do it two weeks in a row?

    • @lizzyhanahoe4197
      @lizzyhanahoe4197 Před 2 měsíci +1

      I agree, ambushed is the right adjective, just don’t think anyone saw that coming! Not that we were taking England for granted, but they haven’t shown that form before Saturday in this 6 Nations. I thought we looked a bit bewildered if I’m honest. How do you coach dealing with pressure in these massively important games?

      @@lizzyhanahoe4197 With due respect it cant be ambushed and didn't take England for granted at the same time, they are mutually exclusive in this case. The evidence was 1 pen away from a rugby WC final against the eventual champions. (and not in a group game) Ireland are still a top team, England are just returning from the dreggs of t1 back to where its resources and player pool should have it, towards the top5.

      England lost four in a row to Ireland, had to win sometime and only just, thought the irish were off a bit and well return fixture in next year's six nations in Dublin should redeem themselves, two or three positions up for grabs but they will most most likely win another title on Saturday, tell the irish that lose to Scotland and help England to win the tournament, it's not going to happen!! 😂

      The atmosphere is incredible but these are weak teams especially for Ireland, the games aren’t that not exciting. There’s one interesting game throughout the whole tournament. I don’t why they have weeks off when the SH teams come over they’re like playing for at least 4 weeks straight!

    Conor Murry lost the game with 90 seconds on the clock he kickes the ball and poorly at that back to England. He should have up the jumped and play down the clock we wouild have won! But no for an experienced player he should kicked way down the pitch. So it was the right decision I have heard it all now seriousely. Unbelieveable! we are a better than Scotland we were a better team than England. And look at what happened,we are a small nation. The population of New Zeland is 5,123,600 people. It was a very brave performance from the England players. Really played above themselves. Just goes to show even poor teams can turn in a very emotional performance and surprise everyone. They'll be telling their grand-kids about the time they managed to beat Ireland by a single point. They should be very proud of themselves, it's a huge achievement for them.
