Here is an idea for you. Go on a two night weekend camping trip and show us what you take for meals that are lightweight to carry into the woods, have no refrigeration, minimal cooking utensils, and are still filling and good for plenty of energy and morale.
While this looks good this guy is obviously used to roughing it. I am curious as to how someone that loves their comfort food and well stocked pantry deals with suddenly having to limit what they can have with them for 48 hours. Will they try to take the whole kitchen? Will they go with the obvious basics? Or will they use various clever tricks to get around some of the limits and crank out a gourmet meal that surprises us all?
How much are you willing to carry? You can make some pretty awesome meals with just sardines and kimchi.
Mre works great for me
That is a good idea. I've seen something similar in a channel called AlamazanKitchen, has a list of cooking in nature that is visually relaxing. Highly recommended!
I got another idea. He should go to Syria without any luggage and try to build a house and become a bodybuilder. Why? I dunno.
DUDE! Your voice is as loud or louder than your background music, friggin congratulations! You're like the 1% of youtubers who do it RIGHT!
Haha that's my pet peeve too.
The key is using background music that doesn't interfere much with the frequencies of the human voice.
Great point. He uses the suave downtempo trip-hop genre a lot which doesn't get in the way. Then ensures to mix the audio in favor of the voice to add.
i think I'd actually prefer the music a bit quieter, but it's almost perfect
SO TRUE I HATE those clowns that purposely increase the Volume or yell into the mic to make a point every 2 seconds like @solvingthemoneyproblem
Just a heads up for all of y'all -- flax has to be ground up to be digestible. Otherwise, it comes out exactly as it went in :) Get those primo omega-3's by treating the flax to a spin in the spice grinder.
or mortar and pestle thanks for the sound advice
Consider making a series of high-protein snacks/recipes. I feel like the fitness niche is still open to some creative, simple and tasty recipes. I'd love to see what you guys come up with!
Yes, high protein and savory in the jar.
I so agree! And high protein that isn't whey based. Everything is always protein powder this or that to increase the ratio.
Ryan Klein I mean you could do this fruit parfait with whey or make overnight oats with whey (or any other protein powder for that matter) and it’d still be good..
I think when it comes to snacks you’re hard pressed not to use protein powder unless you’re just filling yourself with nuts. Most foods that I can think of that have a lot of protein aren’t typically thought of as snack foods.. but maybe the brother’s can change that perception and make some kick-ass snacks :)
My high protein bliss balls: dry roast garbanzo bean flour (Chick pea flour/besan flour) in a pan until it has a nice smell and is a few shades darker, dry roast rolled oats, add tahini and rice malt syrup to taste (dried fruits optional), roll into balls.
@@shalini_sevani Your recipe sounds kind of like this traditional Egyptian dessert, which is just a mix of tahini and molasses to make a paste and eaten by dipping pita bread in it. It's so good and also healthy!
To be honest I wasn't expecting much from this video. I saw on the thumbnail it was the most basic snack ever, but I'm really glad I watched it all the way through. You transformed the ingredients in an interesting and delicious way
As a trained musician, I give you props for employing the downtempo trip-hop genre prevalently in your underscore. Excellent contextual choice for background, Mike G.
The really awesome thing about this recipe IMO is that if you substitute the fruit for a homemade lower sugar content jam and don't turn the coconut into yogurt immediately, all three of the main ingredients here (granola, unopened coconut, jam) last 4-6 months, so it's really easy to just hold onto a bunch of them
Buckwheat. All the way.
XD never though i would find you in here...
Ramen
Alex!! What do you add to your granola??
Please make granola video too :D

This is perfect!! I can't wait to try it! I love that you used coconut yoghurt cause that makes these recipes so much easier to veganize.
I gave this a go and I cannot tell you how awesome and healthy this is. It's a great snack to eat at work around 10am.
I did burn my very first batch of granola but later on got the contents and the sweetness balanced as per my taste. Its cost effective and super satisfying!!
Thanks a ton for this recipe.
I've just finished my own, but sadly I didn't have Maple Sirup cause I couldn't find it anywhere (Even in specialized stores) so I added honey and a tablespoon of cinnamon. Just the greatest and most flavourfull granola I'd have ever eaten. Thank you so much for the recipe! Greetings from Argentina
Nico Juarez use pancake syrup maple
hyper21965 there's not such a product in here. Once a Canadian came home and it was the first and only time I eat it. Greetings
Agave syrup?
Meijer has probably at least 4 brands that are real Maple syrup. I buy it there all the time.
estamos en todas partes 😎 jaksjaksj
My husband bought me an instant pot for Christmas and I've been obsessed since them with making my own yogurt. I was amazed the first time I tried it! It taste soooo much better! Plus I get to control the texture which is awesome.
This has become my favorite channel! Thanks for sharing your AWESOME recipes. I can’t wait to make this along with other recipes in your other videos 🤤
Love it! Also, if you swap butter for clarified butter you can cook on higher heat and still get the yummy flavor!
I have to say that your videos are so inspirational! I want you to know that you've really inspired a lot of my recent eats. And I cook a lot for both myself and my partner, so it's fantastic! Thank you so much
this snack is gold!
Brothers Green Eats 😍😍😍
Will honey do in place of maple? I'm allergic to maple?
Do you post the recipe anywhere
I wonder if Ghee would also work for the butter
Try making Cocada- it's 14 oz shredded coconut + one can of sweetened condensed milk. I add an egg so it holds together, then I add chocolate chips and slivered almonds because it's like a much better almond joy. Use a cookie scoop and place them on tin foil or directly on the pan and bake for 20 minutes or so at 350.
Easier, and I would argue better than a macaroon.
Hey MIke - thanks for sharing your work. Your combination of expertise and enthusiasm is infectious. You are some way ahead of me on the "nuts, seeds, fermented and homegrown" agenda - but I am catching up steadily.
Ive been making gran for a whole however the addition of buckwheat was a master stroke. Delicious.
Awesome snack. The coconut yogurt works equally well with a can of coconut milk; just drain it and shake it together with the yogurt.
I used frozen pinapple, coconut yoghurt, coconut sirup and granola. Kinda like a virgin pina colada.
I made one of your granolas, but the main difference was my maple syrup I made myself from my only maple tree this past spring. The results was gorgeous!
Thank you! This is brilliant!
Lovely. Thanks for this. Just a note on whole flax. If you are eating for nutrition, whole flax seeds are poorly digested and the body can't get at the nutrients. Use ground flax as a sprinkle on top of your bowl instead if you want to be able to absorb it :) I will be making this one for sure!
Thanks so much for the recipe. We always pay so much money for the organic Granola for our son. Today we did yours and he loves it. Greetings from Berlin Germany
you are so much fun to watch. Thank you for sharing!
I love this recipe!!! Perfect!
great idea with the coconut yogurt. I have water kefir growing constantly and there's a store with coconuts nearby. will give this a try.
amazing! thank you for sharig, Mike! will definetly try on the kefir yogurt..
Mmm! Looks so good!
just want to say, you guys are really inspiring, thanks for the videos !
honestly that looks amazing.
Looks really good!
Thank you. That’s what makes brothers green sooooo gooood!
Thanks Mike! Making these for the week today :D
Great video, definitely gonna have to try this.
I made this granola and it's soooo delicious. All the different toasted seeds and the butter definetly make the flavour! Delicious 👌🏻😊
I’ve been loving your channel!
I find that fresh coconut naturally ferments quite quickly, so you can also make coconut yoghurt and leave out the kefir! Great recipe mike!
Superb background! #ThanksforSharing I'm going to add this video on my nature site!!
My granola...
Coconut shreds, sunflower, hemp, buckwheat, chopped pecans , and slivered almonds. Sometimes I use mixed nuts. My granola is really nuts and stuff. I use butter and sweet also -- it makes a huge difference. I also add egg white to make larger chunks. We make fruit yogurt every day. We use homemade whole milk yogurt. I started with Fage 5%. I am now fermenting my yogurt in the holding jars. Less fuss.
That ice cream scoop tip for the coconut is really great. Never tired coconut Kiefer.
The fruit bottom I use is just plain fruit (berries).. Nothing else. I will try adding lemon. I used to make pan cooked apples all the time. I haven’t done it for years.
You have inspired me. I broke open my first coconut today! A lot messier than you. Now I am waiting for my yogurt to grow. thank you. Ps. My granola smells amazing and the girls at yoga are going to love it. Super thanks again
The moment the chopper came in and you were so enamored, lol : )
I make this exact thing every morning, but I use jam on the bottom instead of fresh fruit and turkish yoghurt. I usually add some dark chocolate pieces too! It's done in 3 minutes and the best breakfast on the go.
Mad respect for going with the chopper instead of raging on camera about it.
Thanks for another great video!
It really is gold. I gotta get my hands on that kefir coconut yogurt dude! Legit, I've been making fruit compote+soy yog+granola as dessert pots lately, and it's a game changer in life. 10/10 would recommend.
That is awesome!
Never thought to use buckwheat like that... That might be damn good. Thanks :)
Looks great to the taste
Summmer is comming.
I will certainly try coconut yoky.
THX MIKE.
you are easy to watch the full program to the end.
THX
Klaus, @ Canuk
this is awesome!
Thank you my kids need this
Mmmmm This Looks Sooo GOOD
My favorite snack too. I Always make gluten free homemade granola with honey and olive oil. It’s so expensive in the store. I have used maple syrup in the past but prefer honey from Spooners berry farm or a combination of both. This is my pie alternative. Yum!
that looks good!!!!!
Just found your channel and I'm hooked!! Loving the vids mate! Best wishes from Australia 🇦🇺 😊👍🏻
I bought yogurt parfait cups that keep the granola separate until it's time to eat. It's probably not necessary, but they're cute. My favorite combo so far is the apples, but also lemon curd and wild blueberries.
Great job
I ran out of yogurt but had cottage cheese in the fridge so you inspired me to experiment and use what you have. It was a fantastic swap but just a tip that I always use full fat cottage cheese for better flavour.
I will absolutely be making that coconut yogurt 😋
i like the butter idea for granola, im definitely going to try
I always brown the base to bring out the nutty taste in oatmeal and other grains. More flavor means less sweetener. Nice one!!!
Can you make a video of where you go grocery shopping? And all the stores you make trips to and show us the costs at the end of the day?
Your pantry looks amazing
Lake in Prospect Park ✊🏾I could honestly say that in all my years of growing up in Brooklyn & having some good times in Prospect Park, sadly never been by the lake. It’s definitely on my list the next time I visit home.
Embracing the Chopper ! What a Champ !
OMG sooooooo goooood!
"At least you're doing something" :D Thanks for the encouragement there!
m8 u are so chill, stay that way and keep up the good work ^^
I make this with homemade soy yogurt and it’s the best thing ever to take to work. Thanks for sharing this.
the best on the go snack I found is Homemade jerky with loose granola. something about the sweet from the granola with the salt from the meat is so good.
I really like Honey Nut Cheerios sautéed with a little bit of butter, rosemary, thyme and chili powder. It is soooo good!
Mmm. Looks good. 😄
Omg I tested the granola recipe and it's so good. Thanks
ill note that Store Bought Coconuts are coated with Formaldehyde which keeps them white so I wouldn't be sucking on one! I learned this a while back when I was addicted to drinking fresh coconut water, just pour it in a glass is my thing
Even if you go the semi-home made route and just assemble at home, you're cutting down packaging from buying solo packed snacks for every day. Especially if you can get some of your dried good in bulk (harder with covid)
yum eeeeeeee i use tinned mandarin oranges and sometimes pineapple cubes, in England fruit is very expensive and often not ripe but fruit in its own juice is often just as good, when my granola shop bought is over i am going to try yours, thank you love Jacqueline
I love this video
I just made one inspired by this. Made the coconut yogurt into a lemon curd like 👍🏼 zest in my granola I had left. Topped it off with cotton candy grapes 🍇 don’t knock it til you try the combo mix
I followed this recipe but changed a few of the ingredients to make a more savory bacon granola- I’d been saving the fat from the bacon I fried for my daily breakfast sandwich and swapped the butter out for that previously mentioned rendered fat. I also swapped honey for maple syrup and omitted coconut entirely. I threw in whatever nuts and grains I had in the pantry (I can’t remember what all was in it but I know the bulk was oats and walnuts) and baked it as he did. It’s pretty good!!!
Positive vibes
This is literally my breakfast every day just with an additional streak of honey.
I made the fruit and granola from this video (too lazy to make homemade yogurt) very delicious recipes!
I recently started to add desserts/snacks into my lunch packs and this is a great idea I will try out soon. I will probably use Greek yogurt instead just because I like it and I never was too much of a coconut fan.
When I saw the jars I directly thought about a video I saw recently. And in japan you can buy frozen cakes from vending machines. And one of them sold them in a jar. And this video here made me want to try it out at home. I mean it's basically just a frozen cake. Just make a sheet of cake use a cutter to get it into the shape of the jar. I want strawberries so maybe I can make a sirup to infuse a bit of it into the cake. Layer some strawberries on top. Then put whipped cream on top depending on the jar I might even be eble to make a second layer.
And I read whipped cream can freeze for 3 months. So I can take one every morning and at lunch time I have a nice cake as dessert.
Damn I'm genius! I have to do some shopping tomorrow!
And I guess you can use a variety of cakes and toppings. Self-made marmelade might also be nice when you can't get fresh fruits.
Why have I been buying granola all my life?? Thanks for the recipe! That's awesome!
Never had whole buckwheat. Gonna try it!
woot woot, for some reason I have NEVER thought about making granola ... oh, I am getting excited about my next grocery store trip :-) Thanks for being awesome at cooking and making awesome videos!
young coconut flesh is my rapper name
Alright I'm relieved I'm not the only one that thought that!
🤣
LOL!
These look great...will try with some mango...thanks!
I will always always ALWAYs swear by yogurt granola jars . They are some of the best to go snacks imaginable and super duper flexible.
Looks great Mike! Will be trying this. Subbed your new Insta as well.
I'm going to do this snack for work...thanks! I LOVE maple syrup. 😋 I will make a pot for my husband too...see what he thinks.. 🧒
Hey, thx for your job, you can use a clarified butter in your recipe cause it will support much higher temperature without burning. 120°c(248°f) for standard butter and 250°c(482°f) for clarified one !
OMG I was literally in Prospect Park that day and I was on holiday for the week from the UK!
Did they ever find the cow that was on the loose?
Wish I saw you dude!
Ok bro. You’re revolutionizing my home cooking. Serious thanks.
i replace butter with coconut oil, that way i don't have to use it in the granola and it still has that nice taste of it. Although i use this for granola bars
Hi Mike-thank you for your videos I have learned so much! Can you use any bottled kefir or kombucha for the coconut yogurt?
Those look so good. In my grocery stores in my little town you are unable to get coconut, and Kefir unfortunately. I would love if you could do more simple recipes for the week. Wishing you the best of luck in Montreal
If you eat dairy, you can make your own yogurt with milk and a bit of live active yogurt. Hopefully you can find those in your area.
Looks amazing! With the coconut yogurt: Do you cap it while it it sitting for the 12-24 hours? Or is that an open cheese cloth over it kinda thing. And it's out on the counter, not in the fridge, right. Thanks!
Dude, I modified your recipe a bit as I could not find buckwheat. I ended up making a Fantastic batch of granola.
Some context: I used to hate the granolas in the super stores here in the states. I used to import mine from India, they have a couple of good ones with less than 2g of sugar.
Thanks to you I can make my own at home :D; will no longer have to import it.
Following you recipe and making Yogurt now. Fingers crossed.
Love your videos. Keep up the awesome work.
AHHHH!!!You are in Brooklyn too!!! I knew it
Loved the granola recipe! Wondering how long it would keep in the fridge or on shelf? Thanks!
