- It's time for some fun in sun at Blue Lagoon Island in Nassau! Our original beach day excursion to Blue Lagoon was canceled, so we've rebooked on their dolphin encounter. Join us as we check out the island for the first time, get in some play time with a dolphin, then head back to the ship for an evening full of entertainment such as the "Minute To Win It" style game show, the "Life" production show, the silent disco, and more!! :D

We did a family cruise 5 years ago. One of our excursions was to the Blue Lagoon, Because we didn't get into port on time, our time on the island was cut short. We were able to do the dolphin encounter & loved it! I had always wanted to be in the water with dolphins. I loved it!

There is a great beach on the other side of the Blue Lagoon that nobody goes to, it's behind the dining pavilion...go over there! I see you did find it, there were no chairs when we went and no signs, no limits, course this was several years ago!
Been there and loved it. We watched the dolphin experience when there. Nice place. Looks like they got rid of the hammocks under the trees.
Hey guys. Loved your video as always. One thing I wish you would do, and I understand it would be time consuming, but here goes anyway. Food is a big part of cruising. Your food pictures are great, that said, I would love to hear what your opinions are of each dish, whether you would order it again ect. I did the Family Beach with buffet when I was at Blue Lagoon in October on Carnival Magic. The food was good. Very relaxing time. Plenty of shade.

#bottom again…but I’m going into a work stretch and Christmas so I don’t think I’ll be able to stay caught up! You surely did a lot this day!! Do you recommend Blue Lagoon for those people who have a port stop in Nassau, or is there an equally frugal option you recommend more? Good to see that the pranksters chose to remove themselves from the ship, but so sad that they dishonestly posed they were “thrown off”. I noticed one gentleman in the show who had “fun buns” AKA “space buns”…that was something I’ve never seen on a guy before. He definitely had the hair for it! Much love to you both! ❤️
Nassau is always so expensive, but that beach looks very clean.

RC (who owns Celebrity) excursions are really expensive. Blue Lagoon has changed a lot. When I went the "aquarium" area was separate but you still could see the dolphins at arrival or departure. All areas were accessible and they had a cheap buffet (burgers) in that "pavilion". The beach in the back is always like that (not good).
Someday I hope to sail a ship with silent disco!
Our first cruise was to the Bahamas...and we swam with the dolphins on Blue Lagoon Island! It was in a different location as yours. Loved it 😍 Patiently waiting for them to allow us to cruise again ❤

The Atlantis resort used to do a tour of the aquarium and such, I found it very interesting. Don't know if it's still available.
That excursion was the cherry on top for Dee. 🐬🐬🐬🐬
My husband and I did the VIP package Dec2nd. To get to the VIP section it is a long walk once you finally get to the VIP section we were surprised that the VIP section is Rocky. You are not able to swim in that section. You would have to walk over a bridge to be able to get to a section you can swim. Yes it is beautiful but everyone on this excursion was disappointed that we were not able to swim in the beach.

Shop talk question: would you ever consider putting a polarizing filter on the camera(s) you use when looking at/into water? The POL filter would remove a lot of reflection and permit clearer images deeper into the water. Just wondering "for a friend"! :-)
I’m not a fan of the red filters because I can color correct in editing, but hadn’t thought about something may just remove glare. Ooooh!! :D ~Jay

Looking at the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim and beach day for our Millennium cruise in Feb and the sale price is $125.99 pp!
How long was the dolphin encounter portion and how long was the beach portion? Did you feel like you got enough time at the beach?
It's been a while since we posted this one, but I feel like the dolphin portion was about half and hour, then a couple of hours at the beach. We felt like that was a decent amount of time, but hopefully the tide will be higher if you go there!! :P

Husband and I will be doing Dolphin encounter in grand caymen in April on the glory, and we will be in Nassau in October on board the disney wish. Both I can't wait for. Super excited. Dolphins are my one of my favorite animals

I was at Blue Lagoon two Sundays ago (on Independence OTS). I had booked the stingray encounter but they didn't want to work that day so we got upgraded to the dolphin encounter.
Do you prefer Blue Lagoon or Balmoral more?
Our Blue Lagoon day was a bit of a bust due to the low tide, but I'd say we both still preferred Balmoral overall for snorkeling, beaches, etc.

19:00 My hubby and I are addicted to Segway rides! We have done 4 in 2021, including one in Fort Lauderdale the day before we boarded Odyssey. I recommend Segway Fort Lauderdale.
The dolphins were sooo cute! Also so glad they did something about those prank people I hate that stuff!!! Should have thrown them in the brig! Lol
Logistics question: What SPF does Dee use, and how often is sun screen applied during a 4-hr excursion on a sunny day?
We normally use SPF 50 and try to apply about every hour ideally, but every two hours is more likely for us, as we lose track of time in the water sometimes, hah!! :P
My wife and I are booked on the Summit when it comes up north in May. Does the Summit have the afternoon tea with a classical music artist?

Which cruise line has the best food overall?
That's a tough one, and it's so subjective! We've only really sailed Carnival and Royal enough times to feel like we've got a good feel for their food overall. We loved Princess, Celebrity, and Norwegian overall for food, but having only sailed those lines once each, we need more research, ha ha... so between Carnival and Royal, we'd give the nod to Royal as a whole. Carnival's MDR food has really taken a downturn over the last few years, sadly!!

Does Celebrity Summit have a service to rent a suit or tuxedo? Hubby and I are sailing her November 2022 for our wedding anniversary, and we usually travel with carry-on only, so he won’t be packing a suit for formal night.
I hope the pranksters learned their lessons and not try to prank people on cruise ships ever again 🤣🤣🤣

Carnival? Sure! We liked Valor a little better but she only seems to run shorter cruises.

Definitely accessible staterooms. If you're looking to rent a motorized scooter, the ship most likely wouldn't have that. There's a company called Scootaround (scootaround.com/en) that's good for cruise ship related rentals though!!

Can you walk to the theatre without going through the casino? I’m allergic to the cigarette smoke.
Not on Deck 4 coming from the aft that we could see. You would have to cross back to front on a different deck, then use the forward elevators or stairs to access the theater.
On Celebrity, there is no smoking at all allowed in the Casino.

Watching the dolphin section made me really sad. These animals frequently experience health, behavioral, and emotional issues due to their imprisonment. It's cruel and inhumane treatment for such intelligent animals and I'm kind of disappointed that you supported this "encounter".

Absolutely agree. Dolphins should never be held captive for the entertainment of people.
If you have seen how those are keep at Blue lagoon it is sad and pitiful for those creatures, will never go there again. Dolphins are social creatures and at blue lagoon they are kept in small cages, someone needs to go and release the beautiful creatures into the wild, so sad. Do not go there and waste your money. Just returned from a HA cruise and I would have known this I would have not supported this.

If you want to experience dolphins in the wild then get on a boat and experience them in the wild. Dolphins that are forced to live in cages experience unbelievable stress and are hurt physically while performing simple tricks to amuse tourist.
