That's the way to sing that song. I have heard SO MANY singers try to show how much "dramatic range" they have and overplay the song. Linda Eder captures the full range of emotion associated with this song. It's the difference between singing and "saannging"
She sang that one on Star Search. Saw her while going through the stations and immediately went back and got to tape a part of the song (VHS). At least I got her name! Her "Its Time" CD is one of my favourites. The Children of Eve, Man of La Mancha and other great songs she sang

We've attended more than 25 of Linda's concerts, from Malibu to Seattle, Reno to Las Vegas, New Orleans to New York city and in San Francisco many, many times. We began following her during her tenure on Star Search in the 1980's, then the Jekyll and Hyde tour. My partner's CA license plate is EDER FAN, lol. We always enjoy her "live in concert" videos.
