Damn, she sang her face off. She sang like the rent is due. Delicate and powerful voice.
I was fortunate enough to see her in Jekyll & Hyde on Broadway - still one of my best memories. I've seen her in concert several times since. I once paid for two back to back shows - she's THAT good. And she's a lovely person - very warm & genuine. But yeah this performance brought down the house during Jekyll. Frank Wildhorn wrote the part of Lucy for her - and it shows -my god it shows. She's brilliant.
absolutely and completely
She is one of the best singers of all time, definitely one of my favorites.
In your opinion...and she is wonderful and one of your favorites.
@@vbplayer50 LOL you replied to a comment I made 9 years ago, I don’t even remember this video now tbh
ABSOLUTELY
Not a "diva." An ARTIST painting pictures and emotions with words and notes. Magical.
@Scitch2781 and put over your head.Great song , Great Singer nuff said!
My lord, what a gift. Def one of my fave CDs. Am I missing something?? Why isn't this woman a superstar at the top of the heap.
She won't sell out to the cabal.
The lambs prefer to listen to dubbed vocal recordings
Many have understandably asked that question. She doesn't want that kind of life, being driven and run by her career. She has a real life on her New York state farm with her family, horses, etc. and plays a schedule of personal performances each year. Her large fan base is there for her which seems to be enough for her.
@@willec7105 Your absolutely right. I think Betty Buckley is that way too and I wonderf if thats how kd lang likes things.
Exactly !!!
When I hear singers like Linda, it makes me wonder what's wrong with mainstream pop. These are the types of voices that should be on the radio, on mtv, on vma, on AMA, on grammys, etc.
Degeneracy is why. They don’t want you to listen to good things. Everything is about vibration, and Kanye even said they purposely record mainstream music at low vibrations to fck with people, which I absolutely believe because the kind of music I gravitated to during my darkest days was way different from this, like night and day even. Brilliant artists and all, like Placebo. But even Brian (lead singer) himself looks back at his old material with some sum of wariness because it does celebrate nihilistic self-destruction in the worst ways, as amazing as the music is. These days, he tries to stay away from drugs and sings about better things. I never did drugs, but alcohol is well, different story…
I have loved musicals since my teens, but during that time those songs were definitely not the first on the playlist, let’s say. And surely enough, all low vibe. I try to limit my exposure to it these days and treat it like one would junk food - once in a while, in moderation.
I was privileged to see her sing this on Broadway and it still brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it ❤ I love her.
Me too, and she was wonderful in the role and in great voice.
There truly is nothing better than finding someone to share your life's journey with. Linda's version is second to none. What a talent.
Her voice is filled with emotion, which is I think the best interpretation of this song! Amazing!
Her husband at the time, wrote this specifically for her voice.
I've honestly lost the count of the times I've watched this...this is absolute perfection, there's nothing else to say
I had a smile on my face the whole time. She makes it look so effortless.
This is what is great about CZcams. You can come on one night just browsing around and somehow, for some reason, you end up watching a video like this. Never hearing this song or even the artist, I've become a fan. Her voice is flawless and captures your spirit and draws you in to the song. Thanks Linda.
Hands down. The best singer of our time. The technique is unmatched.
I saw this live on Broadway with Linda Eder and Robert Cuccioli. TWICE. Amazing. I have been a fan of LE since that day. I have never been more impressed by a voice live on stage. I also saw her at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Tampa, she was GREAT
You're a lucky man.
I'm obsessing over this song now. Ughhmmm I love it.
Hahaha, I REMEMBER THIS TIME! I WAS SO HAPPY EVERYTIME I LISTENED TO THIS SONG, BECAUSE I JUST LIKED IT SO MUCH, BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS SO GOOD! THAT WAS SUCH A GOOD TIME!
CZcams Passerby same!❤️🎶👌🏻
Same!!
This is immensely emotional, I am sitting here tearing up, she is stunning!
Loved this Wildhorn song the minute I heard it in 1997 when I saw "Jekyll & Hyde". Ms. Eder sang it beautifully ten and still does now !!
Linda Eder is what can absolutely be called an amazing talent.
Linda Eder’s voice is a miracle. She also knows how to touch your heart and soul with a lyric. I adore her! ❤❤❤❤
Breathtaking, perfect singer paired with this song. Soulful, passionate and true.
2019 and still no word can describe how beautiful this song, also you, Linda Eder.
Yes so much emotions this song is amazing
Linda Eder's voice is so utterly incredible, it's just flawless, I love her.
Once i heard her voice from star search i knew she was one of the best voices i ever heard!!!!! wonderful...............
The orchestration in this is outstanding. A perfect match to Linda’s powerful voice! ❤️
Between the tears and the goosebumps, OMG! Linda Eder is amazing.
Yes she's that great! I heard her live on Broadway and she was quite moving!! I'll never forget it!
This is what we all want isn't it? For someone to love someone like us....
Yes ❤️
My God. She is soooo good. never heard this song before and i thought it's a cover of Adelle's song thats why i clicked and OMG how come she's not as popular as Aretha or Patti Labelle or even Streisand? her voice is powerful and clear, effortless but damn good... Love her.
She does do Adele as well...not sure if there are any on youtube - but when I saw her at Sculler's Jazz club she sang Adele's song of the same name.
@@chrisbaerart Saw her 6 months ago in Boston at 60y.o. She can still sing as she always has.
@@johnfrederick3384 at the Wilbur? I was there....had front row seats!
I freaking love her and this song. She is immensely talented and I want to see her more often on the stage in the spotlight. She's got the vocal chops
She is the best "Lucy" in Jekyll & Hyde. Her voice is amazing. She is one of my most favorite female singers of all time.
HOW LONG CAN SHE HOLD HER BREATHHHH DAYUMMMMMM. AMAZINGGGG
I peer through windows,
Watch life go by,
Dream of tomorrow,
And wonder "why"?
The past is holding me,
Keeping life at bay,
I wander lost in yesterday,
Wanting to fly -
But scared to try.
But if someone like you
Found someone like me,
Then suddenly
Nothing would ever be the same!
My heart would take wing,
And I'd feel so alive -
If someone like you
Found me!
So many secrets
I've longed to share!
All I have needed
Is someone there,
To help me see a world
I've never seen before -
A love to open every door,
To set me free,
So I can soar!
If someone like you
Found someone like me,
Then suddenly
Nothing would ever be the same!
There'd be a new way to live,
A new life to love,
If someone like you
Found me!
Oh, if someone like you
Found someone like me,
Then suddenly
Nothing would ever be the same!
My heart would take wing,
And I'd feel so alive -
If someone like you
Thank you!
How can someone belt out a song so strong beautiful technically and emotionally thrilling and still look good doing it ?? Go ask Linda Elder !WOW!
I walked down the aisle with my husband at our wedding to this song, 10/26/08. Best day of my life. :)
I just love her voice. I am a 88yr oid lady. 2023.
Still magical after all these years-both Linda and the song!
Funny, she was the "special guest" at the Hallelujah Broadway show but she was so much better then all the other singers. Only that the people not missunderstanding me...Kearns, Dixon and Burke were not bad but Linda played in a different legaue.
Saw Linda two nights ago. She was amazing! No one has a voice quite like hers... a beautiful, elusive quality! Someone Like You and Man of La Mancha are my favorites.
She does both of those songs on the album, My Favorite Broadway; The Leading Ladies" which you can see here on You Tube.
I love this person, she is my go to, everyday..love her voice..
Indeed she sounds a lot like Barbara Streisand at certain moments especially at the end. High praise indeed.
Lea Salonga is way much better.
I got to see her in San Francisco with a dear friend. One of those moments you never forget.
Most beautiful song. Wanting someone to love. Brings tears to my eyes
I come here because of Beau Dermott from Britain`s got talent. I loved Linda`s performance which made it possible to rate Beau`s presentation, a 12 years old girl, as an outstanding one. Perhaps other people will join me in my opinion.
Is it just me or is there a touch of melancholy in this performance compared to the bright intensity of the Rosie'O Donnell performance?
I feel like this song is supposed to have a hint of melancholy. This song is about wishing for the love of someone and having it change your life, all while realizing that it may never happen.
I’ve seen Ms.Eder numerous times because you can’t help to be drawn into her voice. I was fortunate to see her perform in Jekyll & Hyde early on in Houston. Breathtaking.
I have been following her since 1988. My mom saw her in Svengali after seeing her on Star Search. She told me, “You need to hear this girl sing”! I was shook! After that, I was, dare I say obsessed! I dreamed of being her and would belt out her ballads and bluesy tunes and didn’t care who heard me. ( I wanted to compete on Star Search, so I have been singing since I was a toddler. So, as a 10 year old little girl with so much admiration for this amazing woman, I wrote, yes wrote, her a letter and mailed it and waited with bated breath and holding on to a glimmer of hope but still thinking, “she is so busy, she won’t reply to me”. To my amazement, she did! I felt like i won the lottery. I even had the honor of meeting her after a show when I was a teenager. I was so star struck, I didn’t get to say all I wanted to say to her. 🤩🤦🏼♀️ She is even more more Stunning in person. If only people took pictures with their cell phones back then So I could have frozen that moment.
CZcams has brought me to many things during quarantine, I have fallen into the Broadway hole, this singer is amazing❤️🎶💎
Same here! I'd heard of LInda but hadn't heard her sing much. Like you, in quarantine, I've been deep in Broadway and am obsessed with Linda. Catch her two songs on the "My Favorite Broadway; The Leading Ladies" album here on You Tube.
@@willec7105 I have watched the leading ladies like three or four times! It is so fabulous!
The best voice... Soothing, so very soothing 🌹💐🌸❤️
No one will ever be able to sing that song like she does. She is old enough to be my mom, but I would marry her if she asked me. Then I would have a wife, best friend, and mom all wrapped in one singing package.
I think you will find a young Filipino singer by the name of Morissette amon does an exceptional cover of this song.
I love Broadway Artists so much that it would kill me if they became mainstream.
The thing about these artists is that there talent should ONLY be shared with those who RESPECT Broadway. It’s a GIFT to experience these performers. 🖤
Chills on chills on chills
A perfectly suitable voice to sing "Let It Go." Majestic voice!
She's stunning... The tone of her voice reminds me a bit of barbra's
I HAVE SEEN HER LIVE. SHE IS MORE INCREDIBLE IN PERSON. I PAID $200 / SEAT FOR FRONT ROW. WELL WORTH IT.
I could not believe it when she was at Town Hall in NYC last year with her two Jekyll and Hyde costars....8th row...$50! She's worth ten times that. Seeing her live is an experience to be remembered for a lifetime.
Me too.....worth every penny!
I know she was absolutely incredible I just love her I love her I started watching her when she was on Star search with Ed McMahon and she was wonderful absolutely
A
Saw her twice...she is something else live
Her voice is perfect. Ear candy.
What a stunning voice from a beautiful soul
Brings tears to my eyes....mesmerizing!!!!!
Have seen her live half a dozen times and she is breathtaking! That voice and stage presence are second to none.
Impossibly talented and impossibly beautiful !
beautiful haunting voice yet full....
Just simply beautiful, I recently got the sheet music for this song, and I love the simple melody and the words.
Can you share me the sheet?
Where did you find the sheet music (for piano) for this song. Please kindly share. Thank you. 😊
Trying to figure out who the 69 people are who gave this a thumbs down. Linda Eder's voice is effortless and amazing and as someone commented below, she is perfection. I agree 100%! In addition to being a fabulous performer, she's an incredibly nice person. She greets people after her show and is so down to earth. Can't wait to see her again in 2022!
you cannot figure out idiocy. they are just devoid of emotion.
Pure class ❤ goosebumps all the way through
I love her so much...
wow.
This is absolutely amazing! She was the first Lucy I ever heard and it's touching here to see that she evidently loves performing with all her heart. Also, I don't blame the lady at 1:26 for crying... :)
first show I saw on Broadway, and she was in it, have seen her live since then, always amazing, what a voice!
Magically lovely lyrics;
I peer through windows,
Watch life go by,
Dream of tomorrow,
And stayed inside?
The past was holding me,
Keeping life at bay,
I wandered lost in yesterday,
Wanting to fly -
But scared to try.
But someone like you
Found someone like me,
Then suddenly
Nothing is the same!
My hearts taken wing,
And I feel so alive -
If someone like you
Found me!
Its like you took my dreams
Made each one real,
You reached inside of me
And made me feel
And now I see a world
I've never seen before -
Your love to open every door,
You set me free,
Now I can soar!
For someone like you
Found someone like me,
You touched my heart
Nothing is the same!
There is a new way to live,
A new way to love,
Cause someone like you
Found me!
Oh, someone like you
Found someone like me,
Then suddenly
Nothing will ever be the same!
My hearts taken wing,
And I feel so alive -
If someone like you
Loved me...
Loved me!
What are those lyrics from?
lol
So beautiful.
I love Linda Eder, she just makes it look so effortless.
My gosh!!!she"s amazing.what a voice !she's full of emotion...I love her crystal voice...
Mesmerizing, absolutely mesmerizing, as good as it gets.
I'll always love this musical; my mother and I saw it over 30+ times with different actors/actresses in the Jekyll/Hyde role and the Lucy role that Linda made famous. It's a masterpiece of a show and I wish it got better recognition than it did.
She made me cry. I love this song and the way she performed it was just outstanding. ❤❤❤
She is absolutely wonderful.
Incredible ... !!!! I do have a heart !!!! This got to me ...Nooooooooooooo !!!!!!
Even at 33, this song still makes me cry
Perfect voice for this song!
Mystical ..... Just so OMG Fabulous !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes is amazing
Awesome tune. Loved it since hearing it back in the 90s.
I love this song! .I'll be singing this tomorrow in my vocal workout class...

One of the best Minnesota musical artists ever! Ya "done us proud, Linda!!!

Wow!!! Incredible voice and lyrics!
just perfection
I was part of this show here in LA... it was just amazing.
Why isnt she still starring all over broadway? Such an incredible talent.
Saw her on stage in this production. Her voice stood out above the others.
여러배우가 이곡을 불렀지만 Linda Eder의 곡이 제일 좋은듯..
Que canción tan linda , tan Bonita Ama lo que Soy en Inglés.
That voice!
Great performance and song
THE SIMPLE ACCOMPANIMENT BRINGS OUT THE BEAUTY AND PASSION OF HER VOICE. BRING TEARS.
A true gifted talent. This one she really sings .
Her father George was an Austrian born and trained chef. He taught a chefs training class in High School in which i participated. He taught us how to make a traditional Austrian strudel stretched out so thin you could read a newspaper thru it which he demonstrated.
