- Need a shoulder workout that will fill those delts out and make you look wider?.. Then let's get after it!
Sets & Reps:
-Cable Rear Delt Fly [partials] (Leaning Forward or Lying on Bench): 4 Sets / 20 Reps
-Side Laterals (Machine Style): 4 Sets / 20 Reps
-Reverse Grip EZ Bar Press/Raise Hybrid: 4 Sets / Reps (20,15,15,30)
I wanted to make this training video to show how I think about working out each head of the deltoid. I always hit them with a different exercise but one thing remains the same, I always find which variation I connect with most on that day and do that one! If you do the same then you'll never have a problem getting them to grow.
Let me know what video you want next and get after it!

I'm 62 years old and have trained since I was a teenager, and even did a little competing. I still workout but joint pain and boredom are now factors. Since I discovered your videos, I've been inspired to try new things. You're never too old to learn new tricks, and have an open mind.
Thanks.
thank me later
0:01 before he gets to the point
Lmaooooo love him for that
Ryan explains an entire shoulder workout in under 4 minutes. Jeff Cavaliere spends 4 minutes explaining that you're doing facepulls wrong.
Bryan Gedbaw I agree with you but for me personally i like understanding movements from that point of view. So if you want to learn why a movement is the way it is athleanx is cool. But if you just want to know what to do and get after it ryan is your guy. You know? Sorry for the rant. Respect ✊ to them both.
@@bryangedbaw5816 you guys gotta be so tribal all the time. Both approaches are great for different reasons.
ABSOLUTELY, and that is one of my biggest complaints about 99% of other YTers. Blah blah blah blah BLAH and STILL not coming to the point, even after 5 minutes!
Love fresh variations here! Delt training can get stale just sticking to standard dumbbell raises
That stale that I just stopped doing them 😩
That slap transition was legit.
First thing I thought of too. Nice and smooth
Maxx chewning has been doing those transitions for about 5 years now lol
Yeah, my cheek still hurts
@@Cause023 it will give those cheeks muscles! It's how Ryan blesses his subscribers.
Whats up slappers
Dude you’re seriously one of the most passionate fitness CZcamsrs who skips the BS and connects with his audience. Thank you a million 💪🏽
I stumbled across your videos a few weeks ago and I began implementing the various exercises for chest, arms, back, shoulders and legs. Let me tell you, I’ve been sore every single time and would dread every set because of how much my muscles would burn. I love your no non-sense and no bs approach. I think out of all he exercise videos on CZcams, you’re seriously the best. Keep up!
Top banana Ryan ...... I’ve a history of shoulder injury from heavy chest and shoulder work and found your take on the front press a breath of fresh air
What I like the most about your workout variations is that they always make me think differently about mind muscle connections. Also even though I’m still on quarantine and have a home gym setup, you’ve shown there’s always a variation of exercises that I can do while at home. So while I’m here I get after it and get growing😁. Thanks for the videos keep up the good work
You are truly one of the most insightful and inventive instructors around... there is always one if not several great tips I'm fortunate enough to pick up from each of your videos... big thanks! Rock on!💪🏼
You’re at home workouts got me through a lot of the shut down. I love how short and straight to the point your videos are! I can learn a lot more quickly.
Ryan, I just came across your channel last week & since then, I've watched many of your videos.
I've seen many videos of many that have posted work out regimes that have indeed been beneficial.
However, your way of explaining & displaying in just a very short but sweet video has been a huge advantage for me.
I must say that in all my years of working out (not a body builder by any means lol), I am indeed still learning new things in order to make my workouts easier & yet still grow in muscle & definition. In just the week of coming across your channel & implementing what I've learned from you, I already feel & see the difference.
Thank you much for posting this vids & sharing the knowledge that you've learned along the way.
God Bless you brother.
Perfect....must be checking my play book. Tomorrow it shoulder day. Light 'em up! You are the only other person I've ever seen with hands pronated. Really isolates the anterior head!! Thanks Brother!
Your explanation from 0:25 to 0:55 was excellent, provocative, and even mind-blowing when I consider that this might explain my own failures over ~40 years. Thanks!
Ryan "Don't be a prick"
2020 "I'm sorry"
Ryan Vercetti
It's not Sorry.
You are a legend Ryan! That last front felt shoulder raise... phenomenal. Just tried it out today. I never connected with my front felt like that before. Thank you!
I've never seen these variations. I've never been able to isolate delts without engaging my traps until now. Loving doing these
Thanks Hummer as always. Please keep the stay at home exercises with limited equipment coming. Multiple gyms in my area that re-opened have already had people test positive for Covid so I'm still trying to stay away from gyms unfortunately. Thanks in advance.
You can't convince me this isn't the best fitness channel on the Tube.
Hey ryan, how about a video for building forearms and improving grip strength? Love to have your take on it. Thanks🤚🏼
Farmers walk and deadlifts are great.
Riashabh Gupta Hi. Great point. I also noticed today after getting back to gym 4 weeks ago and hitting it HARD my forearms & wrists are also weak. Been doin' tons of daily pushups & upper body;but during dealifts (without straps) this a.m. ahhhhhh yeah my forearms/wrist kinda screamed @ me.
Nobody: 15/20/30 reps for size.
This guy: Trust me on this.
Check out Natural Gallant bb, dude is preaching the same high reps.
Always excellent. Always clear. Always effective. Always to the point . The best trainer out there bar none 💪
Thanks for leaving the sets and reps in the description. Makes it easier for me to keep track.
Perfect head/spine alignment on that last exercise. Great work as always.
This channel has really improved my workouts.
Ryan, I absolutely love your videos. You have a great sense of humour and give excellent info, your exercise variations are incredible, and I've never fallen asleep watching any of your vids because they are short and to the point.
I like to write down the exercises that I do so I can remember them all, which is hard to do for your variations. I have no idea what to call a lot of your funky exercises so I wish you would give them a name. If you start naming them could you add it to the video description so people can search for it?
Love this idea!
Pure Class!! Great exercises Ryan!
I did this shoulder workout today and it’s awesome! Thanks for the tips. The reverse grip ez bar hybrid really lite up my shoulders.
Love the rear delt on incline variation! Great connection on that one today! Thanks, man!
I’m so mad I JUST found this channel this man is the TRUTH
Absolutely love your videos, massively trying to connect in the gym, some muscles do, most don’t but will keep watching and keep getting after it
Everything’s practical and used in daily life in my opinion.. he makes it hard as it should be
I love these variations!:)
Loving the consistent content!
Super solid breakdown. The last shoulder exercise is a really good one, thanks man.
Love the short and to the point videos man!
Your videos always help
Not rotating the wrist and pinching the shoulders is where I go wrong on my side raises. Solid content as always Ryan.
The real deal is Ryan! No BS whatsoever
I love these new variations exercises. Thank you..
Nice work!! Thanks, Ryan!!!
More quality content as usual!!
You’ve done a lot of videos on exercises, I’d really like to see a video of what a typical gym week looks like for you. Ideally in the same format as this one, i.e. nice and short. Just an overview in the video and in the description you could link to other videos to show the full detail on the exercise.
“On Monday I did shoulders with exercise 1, 2,3 from this video (link in description) and triceps exercise 2 & 3 from this video (link in description)”
Does that make sense?
Thanks Ryan, great video as always!!!
Wow! Thanks Bro for making my shoulder workout tomorrow. Definitely gona try these variations for lateral and front delts.
Nice shoulder workout Ryan! You are looking huge dude, nice job! Thank you for the video!
This guy's content is great
Awesome videos, thanks for all the straight to the point information!

My delts grew watching this. Great variations, especially the final act.
The realest fitness CZcams💪🏼
tell you what Ryan..I'm seeing results from.your workouts. very happy!
Nice variations, efficiently creative.
Thanks dude, I'm 50+ and just getting started. Your vids help, because I have no gym. Making gains slowly though, thanks again.
Perfect video to watch as I'm about to do shoulders now
How did he know I was gonna work my shoulders today...
I was thinking the same thing...
Good timing. I love it when it works out like that. Now go pump the shit out of those shoulders
Who has an individual day for shoulders

Today is shoulder day great time for this video Ryan boom 💥
Good timing good timing tomorrow is shoulder day ty, sir!
Geniales !!! Los estoy poniendo en práctica, gracias !!!
Shoulder dominant crew checkin' in ✊
Thx u, I’ll add these to next Tuesday’s shoulder day
He’s got amazing knowledge
Learn something new every day!
Might have to hit shoulders twice a week. Huge muscle group 💯
I do a few sets of rear delts before back day; that way they're pre-exhausted for the movements the6y're invloved in anyway
@island mike no it's not...I've gotten my best gains by working each part every 9 days...sometimes longer....stop going by these so called studies and the crap you read online...there's a reason why pretty much every pro bodybuilder trains each body part 1x per week...depends on how you train...if you train with full high intensity, to failure, then you need extra recovery....not only did training each body part 2x per week not work, i actually lost size...people were asking me, if i stopped lifting....your body grows at home, not in the gym....so twice a week isn't normal...it might be all the rage now, but bodybuilders for decades only did 1x per week...some took longer.
@B 2 that's total bullshit...go look up dorian yates or pretty much any pro bodybuilder...sure, they took steroids, but steroids only make your recover better, so when did they still choose to lift the way they did? cause you need recover to grow.....if you train intensely, you need alot more time to recover.
I swear I just woke up to workout . Perfect timing
No nonsense, good information. Subscribed 👍
Damn 500 likes in 30 minutes, your channel is growing big man, congrats💪🏼
Hell yeah those were some dope exercise suggestions.
This guy is all about mind muscle connection
Another top notch video
youre great ryan information is awesome
Great video! Especially that front raises variation!
Question, are those 3 exercises ( one for each head) enough for shoulders day?
under 4 minutes. Nice. And tomorrow is shoulders. Awesome!
Sick!
Thanks, Bro’.
Great angle with the cables for the rear head!!
Great vid as always!
Wow what magical powers do you have to be able to watch the whole video when it hasn't even been out for the length of the video?!?!
awesome workout for me thurs shoulder day goin to try this
Nice routine 👍 and I definitely know what to do for great traps.
"... the one way you can halt progress altogether is by continuing to do something you don't connect with."
That's some wisdom right there 🧙♂️
I am definitely adding the last exercise into my program! Thanks
How about doing normal ohp instead?
Bro ur channel is awesome.. 💪🏾
Another great vid.
Always brilliant so informative 👏.
A great way that I improved my shoulder flexibility and fixed my shoulder pain was using an unweighted straigh bar, do over head military presses but alternate between one in front and one behind the head. The more exoereinece you get with it the lower you can go and it makes you shoulders feel great afterwards.
Good timing man.
You heard him, ladies. Get growing!💪🏾🤟🏾
This video came on the wrong day for me since I trained shoulders yesterday. Guess I'll re-watch this video on Friday.
Been doing my side laterals with the 90 degree angle for a long time. I keep getting people telling me to keep my arms straight, then I tell them to actually watch my side deltoid contract when I do it my way. Next time I see them they are doing the sides the exact same way I do.
Fu^k... the hybrid raises are the $hit!!🤘
Thanks, Ryan!
You deserve a million subs. Good info without all the bullshit.
Ive been wanting to spice up shoulders lately - thanks for letting me count on you for the weird shit
The last exercise for front delts is the only thing I've done for the last 3 years. It's also good to do it on an angled Smith machine.
So it must work... Some people have a phobia of this exercise, seemingly; they're afraid to break away from standard barbell/dumbbell shoulder presses. What do you call this exercise, btw?... I call them front presses.
@@carlosmorris4510 personally I call it a reverse press in my log book. For variation I'll do an overhand press but, my elbows are pointed straight ahead to keep the tension on the front delt. I never do a standard shoulder press, where your elbows are pointed to the side, anymore. They really hurt my shoulders in my older age (48).
Love your videos short simple and effective
Awesome channel my bro. Logical explanations on anatomy and mechanics with innovative exercises..... Churr....
This is one smart Dude
We need that program of yours Ryan 😊
God damn I learn so much here! 💪
Good shit right here
Can you make a stretch/warm up video? Your short and to the point videos are the best on CZcams. How do you warm up?
loved it. can you please help with a video on loosening the hip flexors. thanks
Love these videos going to try the ez bar 1 ronight. Front delt workout with dumbbells and barbell next?
