I lost my son on Dec 25, 2023 and this is the song for his service I will be singing for him. Thank you Disturbed ❤️
My wife died on the 28th after two days of COVID,it all happened so fast. This song convinced me to get back to a normal life without her.
My heart goes out to you both ❤️
My condolences.
Sending love ❤
Im sorry for your loss
I love how Disturbed is not afraid to show their gentle side.
I think it's their gentle side that makes me super attracted to them as a band and as humans❤
It would be a shame if they didn't do this side of their music talent. They are amazing
@@kendramorin9879....Me too Kendra....I'm not much for all the crazy stuff but I've noticed their lyrics are quite meaningful and strong!!!! Pretty good messages!!
@@Rotorqueen1 ❤️
Wow I’m 62 and now I’m a fan of a heavy metal group. I’ve watched sounds of silence 50 times at least. Now this beautiful positive affirming song .
I didn’t like metal until my 40s and disturbed is definitely my favorite group
agreed. I have never had any patience with heavy metal, but this man...this voice...(only 50 times?) lol
I am 65 discovered his music a few days ago,I am completely addicted
Me too!
I'm 72 and fell down the Disturbed Rabbit hole about 3 months ago. Wow.
Love how he holds his hands open like you would see in church when worshipping. This is my church..music is so powerful
I smile when I read these comments from older people saying how much they love this band and their songs. Music spans every generation; it’s what touches our heart and our senses. I too have recently discovered Disturbed
236 people have no idea what REAL MUSIC IS. I could listen to this for hours on end.
Oh, my..............there's still music in the world, isn't there? Extraordinary
This old lady (Sounds of Silence old ) has just "discovered" another Disturbed song to love.
I’m Sounds of Silence Old too. I did see Simon and Garfunkel sing this back when they were new. I love their rendition and truly love Disturbed version. Both magical to me.
May you be blessed ..
Me too!
Me as well
Me too; love these songs.
This song is amazing and unfiltered. I have been listening to it while riding my bike for many years. It reminds me of the freedom, peace, and gratefulness for the life that we have. Life is fleeting and temporary, so we should wake up and celebrate it every day. God bless everyone.
I am not much of a metal fan… but I LOVE this… and their version of the sound of silence is my favorite song/performance of all time. I love his voice, I love his passion.
Meee tooooo!!!! Love this song!! And the Man!! David is an amazing person!! ❤❤❤
Ditto
That is a beautiful melody and the words are touching. I like when David sings like this. The band does a wonderful job. I am 78 and I just found this song in early August 2023.
'm Ialmost 74 never liked heavy metal bands, been raised on old Country greats, but about a year ago I ran across sound of silance and David Draiman, It makes me wish I was 20 again. I just love his voice, and everything about him, I think this "Hold on to memories" is absolutely my favorite!!!! Maybe it is an age thing, and Ive lost my only sister 5 years ago, that really hurt! This is such an important song and has so much meaning!
I'm 70 and never liked metal. Then I heard Disturbed's Sound of Silence a couple of months and was hooked. David has such an amazing voice and the musicians are spectacular.
I played this song at my Mama's funeral. She loved disturbed at 85. We were going to the concert, but she died before we got too.
RIP to your mama 🖤
@@audacyapp Thank you. One day I'll make it to their concert. She will be there in spirit.
A rock band is truly great when their ballads are completely phenomenal too.
Pure Truth 👏🙏🎯
absolutely.
Real talk
100% TRUTH!
Indeed
What an incredible performance. This mans voice is a gift
I'ts heavenly voice coming from hell. Or the opposite.
Amazing 💜 thank you 💜
Agreed.
He is my KING!
Wonderful and very emotional! I love Disturbed! 😍
Anyone grieving should listen to this beautiful song. It helps.
I fell in love with this band when Sickness came out. Now 66 years old and with every album they give me a new reason to love them even more. Disturbed never disappoints.
I want this song at my funeral 😢 RIP DAD
My mother is 72 years old and loves Disturbed and came to see them and Avenged Sevenfold before covid and we loved both acts!! David’s voice is so amazingly good and he has such amazing versatility he really is a master of his craft!! The band are like a fine wine that just gets better with age 🤘🤘🤘
Also love the recent cover of ‘If I ever loose my faith’. The details in the song are incredible and after the pandemic hit it brought the message of hope to us all! 😎🤘😎🤘👍
Yep, i am 67 as of Oct. 20th, 2023. Been a Disturbed fan since day one and even before 9/11 i found that the lyrics in alot of their songs had something positive even though the songs may be forbodding or even intimadating. But yeah, even though i hate wine the anology is fitting. But you can get that from whiskey too🤣 David is a very compassionate and introspectfully astute lyricist. What i like most that in the early days on their tours, you knew very well that David could beat your ass with words or his fists. And now that they are older, mellower and very socially sensitive, and his kindness is often displayed at shows,...you kinda know this compassionate man can still bust you up if you're a dick at one of his shows🤣
Calling "Hold On To Memories" a song is an understatement, it's an educational masterpiece which teaches a life lesson that will never be learnt in school. It hits very differently to most music out there today.
Agreed ❤
My son was a fan of Disturbed. This song hits home. I have found I love the words to many of Disturbed. Thank you for my memories of my son Disturbed!
I lost my Mom in April. She loved many rock bands, Dusturbed being one of her faves because David's voice. Theres so much new music thats came out since shes been gone that I've wanted to share with her. But when I heard this song it was like she was in Disturbed's head when they made this. and she wanted to share this song with me. It's now one of my favorites of all time.
Sorry for your loss, wherever you are.
I lost my mother in july. I feel where ur comming from. Right when he said make the most of the rest of ur life... My face broke in a million peices as well as my heart. Now i use this song for strength. My mom wouldnt want me to solk in pain over her being gone. I can still feel the tears for emotional release and to draw strength from. Keep our loved ones alive. Thank you David Dan Mike and John for ur contribution to many and the strength to listen to this song and power through the pain.
Lost my grandmother in October, 2016. I remember showing her Disturbed's performance of the Sound of Silence on Conan O'Brian one day. She had her own laptop and browsed Facebook a fair bit, even though she was in her late 70's. Later, I heard her watching it again and she said "Yeah, I watch it every time I see it pop up again, he's got a great voice". I remember in my head laughing my ass off, because here's this stuffy English woman watching Disturbed. I wasn't even that familiar with them, but I knew they were mostly heavy metal and the heaviest thing I've heard her play was the Beatles.
I think she would've enjoyed this album, because there are quite a few acoustic ballads. Haters can say what they want about it being 'too soft', but I disagree. This is very sweet and refreshing.
My condolences Jessica
😢
I can't imagine that old school Disturbed fans like this at all. I'm glad to hear David's voice showcased in this way.
I am 78 , never underestimate a Granma who loves Disturbed....and I do
I believe "Hold On To Memories" has become an Anthem for an Epidemic that has long been hidden in Our Society. Thank You! 💔🙏
ABSOLUTELY!
I lost my best friend almost 2 years ago. He always used to say "Lets go make memories together." He knew my favorite band is Disturbed and I feel like this is him speaking to me.
Right on Skedar! Hold on to that! 👊
yes he is sweetheart, our loved ones send messages through and this is it for you, blessed be my love xxx
Much love brudda
Music is so powerful man. Says so many things. And as you said, made memories for you and your buddy. Thoughts and prayers.
Reading this gave me chills. Thinking of you. I lost a close friend of mine a few days ago and this is the maybe the 20th time I've listened to this song after only hearing it for the first time after my friend's passing. So beautiful. ❤️
God damn, that was bone chilling, spine shivering excellence. REAL music. All these so-called musicians today need to take note, this is what true talent looks like.
Yep. Dave don’t need auto tune. These so called musicians today are an embarrassment. So thankful I grew up when I did.
@@100fredkrueger auto tune isn't bad necessarily though, regardless David has such a powerful voice and he is such a good lyricist that it puts me in a special place where I stop thinking of all the negative stuff in the world and I feel happy.
All true words,, these boys have been there for quite a while now,, and have surprised me with the most amazing songs,,, loud, ballads ,,, they are absolutely amazing,,!!!! At this moment,I think disturbed and alter bridge, are 2 of the greatest rock bands ever,!!!!!!
So true. My sons are 24 and 21 and mad about Scorpions and other rock bands I listened when I was young and still listen.I'm 56 and proud my sons like this kind of music better than "hear shit" like they say!☺
And from a metal band Mayor
Oh look it’s the guy DAVID with the most beautiful voice….❤️❤️❤️
Wonder how many of us Senior Citizens.
Now listen to Disturbed ..after hearing The Sound of Silence..always something new to learn..no matter your age..
Never heard of Disturbed until a few days ago when I heard Sound of Silence. I am a huge fan now. Going out to get some cd's. Would love for them to re-do some oldies on one album in ther own version......
I want to hear them do "Light My Fire" and "White Rabbit"!
Drenda Parfitt
Hi Drenda. If not for my children (who are adults now) I would never have heard about Disturbed. All 3 of them have pretty much the same taste in music, but it was my youngest daughter who introduced me to so many awesome bands back when I was in my mid 40’s.
I’m 63 now, and still love all of the music she had shown me. I was blown away by Sound of Silence, as it’s a real masterpiece from them. And a far cry from what they normally produce; same as this one above!! Just beautiful :)
Disturbed did Songs Of Silence better than Simon and Garfunkel I hate to say that but it’s true imo. And the video is magnificent.

Mr Paul Simon agreed with you.
My sister passed 2 weeks ago. Disturbed was her fav group. We were going to see them in January. Maybe in our next life...

Disturbed is now one of my favorites! I original discovered them when I heard their rendition of Sound of Silence... it is wonderful!!!
I’m very sorry for your lost my condolences.
Sorry for your loss. Disturbed came into my life when I heard their rendition of Sound of Silence as well. The lyrics are amazing and sometimes are the only thing that keeps me alive, such powerful songs and performances...About these memories, there's one message I would like to share:
"The saddest part of life is when the person who gave you the best memories becomes the memory"
Anyway, if I wrote anything wrong, sorry, I'm Brazilian and sometimes my english is not that well hahahaha. Hope u have an amazing life and remember: there's always a reason to fight.

His voice is amazing. I believe he can sing anything and make it amazing.
Every now and again there comes along a song that just seems to touch everyone and have a profound impact. From the gentle opening melodic sounds of the guitar to Davids powerful yet sensual vocals, there is something for everyone. One of the most powerful songs to date........
You should check out the live concert video for "A Reason to Fight". Just as powerful as this one.
This made me cry. Absolutely beautiful. I am a 50 year old disabled Navy vet, who was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer on Fathers day 2018. The lyrics really hit home for me.
Sorry to hear that. Hope you have many great moments with family while you can. Thank you for your service.

Hope you're not dead yet. Ily sis.
Thank you for your service. Prayers to you and your family. God Bless.
I feel like as Disturbed get older this is the direction they need to head.
I totallly agreee. They should continue producing songs
Their ballads are amazing. As they mature, their music does too.
@@parksnewbornportraiture4989 :,)
Hes so fantastic. I could listen all day to his voice.
Oh, David. There are no words......💕. Bless you for the music.
Whoa, Dave never ceases to amaze me with his vocal range
one of the best ranges in rock, reminds me of Bono of U2s range
Same
Especially with all the problems he's been having with his vocal cords
lets not forget about the guy on the guitar singing background
Really happy to see he's been taking care of his voice with proper technique. He may even be at his best now.
He doesn’t do the uhh waaa ahhh ahh ahh ...shit, those were the times. Down with sickness , stupify , the game , voices , fear, god disturbed are so unique..i have to agree with you tho his voice aged perfectly welll
God: Would you like the voice of an angel or a demon?
Dave Draiman: Yes
This is really very accurate
Haha so very true

A humble man. A Bold man . David Draiman LONG LIVE DISTURBED!
"A bold man" you don't say
Did you say a bald man. Ha ha jk
OMG You can see the feeling and emotion of the lyrics in David’s voice and facial expressions! What a beautiful powerful version to an amazing song! Thank You
Disturbed helped me to cope with the loss of my husband of 65 years.
This band is maturing nicely, like a fine wine.
I dedicate to my girlfriend who passed away 2.5 years ago. Awesome performance.
Give it up for the backing vocalist too! Great job! You two sound amazing together!

I wish they would do a whole album of this type of music, David Draiman's voice is so wonderful
Listen, everyone
The time will come when all of us say goodbye
Feel that aching in your heart
Leaving you broken inside
But we're never really gone
As long as there's a memory in your mind
So now go do the best things in life
Take a bite of this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Make a ride of this world while you can
Take the ones you love
And hold them close because there is little time
And don't let it break your heart
I know it feels hopeless sometimes
But they're never really gone
As long as there's a memory in your mind
So now go do the best things in life
Take a bite of this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Make a ride of this world while you can
And hold on to memories
Hold on to every moment
To keep them alive
The world's greatest tragedy
Souls who are not remembered
Cannot survive
So now go do the best things in life
Bring the fight to this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Shine your light on this world while you can
And hold on to memories
Hold on to every moment
To keep them alive
The world's greatest tragedy
Souls who are not remembered
Cannot survive
And hold on to memories
Hold on to every moment
To keep them alive
The world's greatest tragedy
Souls who are not remembered
Cannot survive (cannot survive)
Man David has such a great way with words. I've always loved disturbed. I don't care if they write a whole album of ballads one day... I know it will be just as good as everything else they've given us over the years
This man just flattens me with his ballads. Goes to show excellent music crosses all lines.
My 42 year old son exposed me to David's music and I am a 68 year old grandmother, retired nurse and a veteran. Keep on Disturbed!
Beautiful
Definitely! I love their heavy stuff. But dammit I love their ballads too!
I would pre pre order that album in a heartbeat 😍😍😍😍
A whole album of ballads? That would be beautiful!!!! 😍

I turn 80 in May.. my son played Disturbed singing Sound of Silence and now this song Hold On To Memories.. I am hooked...David has a powerful voice...
Happy early birthday, Sharon!
David voice is so amazing! When this song came out my boss at work just died suddenly. He was truly a great man. It was so heartbreaking. We had a gathering to remember him at the baseball field he would coach at. He use to play pro baseball back in the day and we felt holding that gathering there was fitting. I played this song in honor of him. Beautiful beautiful song
One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. ❤
This 63 year old not get enough of their music. Thanks to our 23 year old grandson who turned us on their music. Yep I am the COOL grammy. Can not get enough of their music. Went out and bought their Evolution Cd. We lost our precious Cocoa and this song has helped me though it
I'm 47 now and lost my Mum when I was 14yrs. I have just seen some of Disturbed song and love them.
Every year on December I remember loosing my bestie and 34 others from my company at Kim Son 12/17/66 it’s always been part of me as they were part of me. I keep them alive by living a good life they were cheated out of and I’ll never never forget them. This song has added new meaning to their loss. I make the most of the rest of my life.
I'm still trying to figure out how this got any "thumbs down" yet alone 290. Amazing performance.
Often, performances with raw, uncorrected vocals are disliked because people are used to the clean, pitch corrected album versions. In reality, all singers get pitchy and lose key slightly, especially a singer like David, who has a lot of vibrato in his voice.
Those who don’t understand this are very critical of uncorrected performances.
@@parksnewbornportraiture4989 your to nIce , They suck like they could do better !? It so crazy people are so picky and silly .

This amazing song called Hold on to Memories by Disturbed will now and forever be played on today, the anniversary of my brother’s passing and on December 2 for my dad (17 years gone). It is elegant, and uplifting and speaks to my heart. If you have ever lost a loved one, you should give it a listen. Love you and miss you terribly Steve. ❤️💔 And thank you to the band for such an amazing song to help us through the tough days.
I'd like to dedicate this song to my dad. Passed away in 1986 I was 2. Due to leukemia, his influences in rock n roll are the reason for my passion for music.
When someone you love becomes a memory, then that memory becomes your treasure…
Back up singer is just as good of a singer. What a perfect band.
I lost my soldier boy, my soul mate of 49 years, 6 months, 3 days and 6 hours. My soul yearns for him and my heart breaks every day I continue to breathe. Memories are that I have left.

Don’t cry for what could have been, smile and rejoice for what was ! :-D
I lost the love of my wife in May of 2020. We'd been together on and off for 25 years, since I was 13 and she was 17. My heart feels heavy and my soul feels empty. I couldn't imagine what I'd feel like after 50 years and I hope for you all the best.
I lost my dad ten years ago and my mom nearly two years ago now I'm so glad to have the memories of them I do. They honestly loved one another and I know they are together again. As my dad said life is short you can't let it slip by cherish each day each moment
Lost my lovely mother-in-law 3 months ago to Covid-19, and now my mom yesterday. She had been in the hospital for a shattered hip since last June. One infection after another kept her in bed and unable to get up to rehabilitate the hip. Eventually, after 11 months in bed, her body had become to weak to fight any more infections. She had been doing good, and was in good spirits last week but then, 2 days ago developed another infection from being bed ridden. It took less than 24 hours for her to decline and subsequently pass away. She’s with Dad now and I’ll be holding on to the memories. Thank you to the guys in Disturbed for this incredible tribute to everyone we’ve loved and have left us.
Such a powerful ballad!! Surprised he can sing it without crying cause the words are so meaningful! We are!! We are !! We all are Disturbed!!!! God bless

Thank you Disturbed for your humble dedication of this song to the people of El Paso. I've heard you speak in Spanish over the Rock station "the Q" introducing this beautiful balad and as soon as the music starts... it takes me back to that horrific day, 8/3/2019, but this ballad gives us hope and sustains us and brings us in closer. My two youngest and I went and did what we could, we attended a tattoo shop to raise funds for the victims and their families. Both my 18 year old son and 21 year old daughter received their very first tattoo commemorating El Paso and the coming together of this incredible community to answer the call of unity after a tragic event. Any community on this earth would do the same, I feel, but here, here is our home El Paso, Texas! With much love and respect, God bless the victims and their families and God bless America!
