My husband I met when I was 16 and am now 67, is still with me but has Alzheimer's and, in a way, is no longer with me. I had not heard this song until today and it made me realise I have many memories but I still have to live again. He may be with me for many years yet, but I need to find my own life too and it will be no disrespect to him, who doesn't remember me. I am crying. I only heard about your band 5 days ago. I must have listened to The Sound of Silence over 20 times in that short space of time. I am an 80 year old Military Special Ops veteran, having served for 32 years. Just before Christmas, I was diagnosed with Terminal Cancer and given 6 months to live. I have been saying my goodbyes and tonight something incredibly spooky happened. A Middle Eastern friend that I had not seen for over 30 years phoned me. After saying our farewells, he said âBefore you go to sleep tonight, I want you to listen to a group that I have only found recently, but there music is so powerful and healing - they are called Disturbed and this is the track that epitomises our friendship.â. It gave me a feeling like I have never had before - THANK YOU and GOD BLESS

They didn't sell out at all david will do anything he can to keep putting out this wonderful music. We listen to his music because of the lyrics and sound and obviously he has an outstanding voice! He'll the heavy metal days are over for me. I can keep growing with their music. I still listen to their older music but I absolutely love what they put out today!

I think this album was more about the theme of mental health after losing some many friends of the previous few year from suicide, and addiction. To me, it is a very personal album. Hi, I am also a Bereaved Mother going on 21yrs. My son Sam was just 13yrs old DOD 4/11/03 He went to get the mail and was a Victim of Vehicular Homicide. A newly licensed teenaged driver tried to take a 90 degree turn at 70 mph and lost control. My son had no time to react, no time to run. It was a ghastly death for anyone much less your only child. He was hit by the car and the rate of speed at 70mph . The impact of the speed turned his brain around his skull. The front was in the back and the back was in the front. His head was trapped underneath the car for 4 minutes. The driver drove forward by doing a burn out according to the UPS man who witnessed the entire scene. I got home minutes later and every siren in my town was going off plus the Life flight helicopter was in the sky heading for my home. I got out of my car and when the people saw me they parted like the Red Sea. I knew. I just did. There he was, body on the ground, neck bent over the curb but I couldn't see his head. His head was smashed in the grass 4 inches. I dug him out like a dog and when I freed him he was missing parts of his face. I dragged him away, he was so heavy. I held him like an infant as I spoke to him. "Can you hear the sirens?" "Can you hear the blades of the helicopter?" "They are all for you, Mom's got you and I won't let go until the helicopter landed in the Highschool grounds. I knew he was gone. We were both covered in blood. Some sick people tried to get a look at us so the EMT's had to hold a sheet to block us and the camera from the Newspaper kept running around snapping pictures of us. I go back to that nightmare and still wake up screaming his name. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I had to be put in a Physciatric Hospital for weeks. I know where you are at in the beginning of your new journey, as I call it. If you ever need help or answers to questions I'd be happy to help. After 21 years I am a veteran. People who have had to bury their children don't even have a name! It's not in Webster's Dictionary. That makes the hole in our hearts that much bigger. An organization called "Compassionate Friends" saved my life. I can help you when you are ready. It may be a year from now but I've helped many Mother's by talking on the phone. Sorry doesn't cut it so I'm telling you I love you. This new journey is a path none of us want to walk on but we don't get a say in the matter. đ«â€ïž
Iâm a paramedic and 5 years ago I had to cut my best friend of over 20 years down after lost his internal battles. Worst day of my life. I lost my dad just over a week ago. Since then, I wake up every morning, tell my dad that I love him and miss him. This morning I woke up to go to work and I did my new routine. I woke up, got ready for work, told my dad that I love him and miss him , I got in my truck and turned on my pandora....this song comes on. The lyrics spoke to me almost as if it was my dad telling me "I'm ok, I'm good, just hold on to the memories". I know there's tons of healing in the days ahead, but this song played a big part to accepting my dads passing. Thanks to Disturbed for this amazing song. It was the kick in the ass that I needed to start my personal inner peace and acceptance of my dads loss. Love you pops!

I lost my son a couple months ago. He had major problems from the start. We spent 4 months at the childrenâs hospital before we got to come home. We got to spend the most beautiful 2 years of our life together at home where he belonged. I was thinking about him all day and on the way home I turned on the radio and they said some new disturbed was coming on. Iâm so glad I didnât not change the station. my condolences but this band, Linkin Park, and Three Days Grace helped me some what get myself out of bed when I lost the woman I loved with every fiber of my body and our unborn twins. The pain will lessen keep your head up and live one day at a time and when its time for you to go you will have more stories to tell the little one when you get to the pearly gates he will be holding the beers.

I love that Disturbed changed their sound over the years. A lot of bands can't or won't try for a bit of variety. We've had plenty of heavy Disturbed songs, this is a nice change of pace and this is a damn good song.

I lost both of my parents in the same year. It was really hard. But I've learned that if you look, you'll find people to lift you back up. Sometimes you have to open yourself, or take a chance on someone. But there's always a light if you look for it. Take care and God bless.
I lost my father to suicide and both of my grandfathers to sickness/age all in the span of 4 months this past year. I miss them everyday, but the best way to push through is to have a supporting group of friends you can rely on. Wether it be a church group, a team member, a teacher, or any other sort of person you can confide in during your darkest times. Youâve got this , I pray for you and and your motherâs health

this song hits different.. i lost my grandfather very suddenly last year to cancer. by the time he went to the doctor for stroke-like symptoms, the lung cancer had metastasized in his brain. growing up, your parents/grand parents seem invincible and to watch this man who had been my hero my whole life succumb to something like that was unreal. we just made it through all the firsts.. christmas, thanksgiving, birthdays... they leave a void when they go that will always hurt but you also take them with you in life. the lessons they taught you, the memories you made with them.. and it makes it a little more bearable as time goes.. to everyone i this thread/comment section, much love y'all. we make them proud every day by being the best we can be for them.

I love this song. I lost my dad 2 years ago due to COVID. Before my dad passed from COVID, we learned that he was diagnosed with cancer, again. The prognosis was grim as his immune system was weak. Growing up, we didn't have a lot of money to do things as a whole family. Before my dad lost his battle with COVID and cancer, I got a job at a local theme park and was provided enough tickets to take my whole family. We all went to this theme park to have fun as a family. Little did we know this would be the last greatest memory with him. He absolutely loved this day, even though he didn't feel like being there because the weight of cancer was holding him back. Hold on to the memories! They mean everything! I miss him.

This album was more about the theme of mental health after losing some many friends of the previous few year from suicide, and addiction. To me, it is a very personal album. It makes me remember those that have gone away. It also gives me hope about my own fight with addiction and mental health. I post it every time I lose someone and sometimes I post it when I am in the throughs of my own fight.

Hey I know what you're going through. I'm blind and I had to make the awful decision to put my beautiful Guide Dog Lauren to sleep. Lauren had cancer, 4 operations, chemotherapy and steroid treatment. Lauren was only 7 years old and she was my best friend. So yes, do as this songs says, hold on to memories. Make memories, tell the people in your life that you love them, too late when they are gone. I told Lauren every day how much I love her.
