    Nice concept, thanks for your help. However, I'll have to curve the tube sligthly differentely. My just-received M50 has the cone only 10mm above the surface. Just wondering also if not better to have an airflow more "horizontal"? One question: what are you using for the connection of the 6mm tube to your oil-free compressor?

    • @RmcReloaded-tehnicaldriver
      @RmcReloaded-tehnicaldriver  Před 2 lety

      The air must enter the cut as well as possible, to cool these edges. At the same time, by increasing the air supply, it increases the temperature and power of the laser spot. if we put the air flow horizontally, it will "wash" the surface! I use something like this:

    I just got my Atomstack A5 M40. But unfortunately this I am still testing options but this technique doesn't work nearly as well for it :( The laser is much closer to the bottom of the assembly. The OEM funnel comes down to about 2mm from the bottom of the housing, not ~20mm like shown in the video. I may be able to still get the pipe between the funnel and the bottom if I aim it fully sideways but I think that would greatly reduce the effectiveness. I intend to test it and see if I can reroute the pipe to be inside of the funnel.

    Nice idea, thanks for sharing. Having tried to reproduce it I saw that the rotation of the laser aluminium cone now prevents the protective glass to be correctly put in place (it can't slide all the way anymore and so it cannot be used, which is not acceptable for safety reasons). This happens whether you rotate the cone 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise. Unless cutting the small part of the cone which interferes with the glass (but then, this proposal is not reversible anymore), I do not see a solution. Do you concur? Any idea?

      For the M50 model with a small mirror, I made an air assist with a metal cone. The mirror is completely removed. goggles must be worn. I don't know if it will cost you 22 euros and 20-25 euros for transport.

    • @katkothaza

    • @RmcReloaded-tehnicaldriver
      @RmcReloaded-tehnicaldriver  Před 2 lety

      @@katkothaza -I thought about this, but I thought it was more important to be able to get the air jet out more easily without putting on the mirror, and to use specially designed glasses to cover the wavelength of the laser.
      Honestly, I had something to compare the mirror with, and it seems to me the most unsuccessful protection. Especially since it fills up with dirt frequently!
