      I think if we all ran away to find people just like us...we would become boring and uncreative. The thing about humans is that we need the reminders to be who we are, or we fall flat. We need pricks around to make us remember to never stomp on anyone to get what we want. We need villains, we need sidekicks, we need dreamers floating in clouds. We need each other, good bad and ugly. 🤓

      i keep seeing this comment from infj's in here and i can't help but feel that it is slightly a defeatist mentality. why not try to make the world or country that you live in better by actively using your voice, body, gifts, intuition, spirit, heart, mind, creativity, thoughts, and convictions to recreate the world you're already living in?

      @@zain4019 one person can change the course of history. one person is the first stone that is thrown into the water that creates a ripple. one person is the voice that spreads like wild fire and creates a movement so strong that it tackles the paradigm of narcissism and greed that we live in. or, one person shows their kindness and love to every single person that they meet in their life time and all of those people that they positively influenced do the same to everyone in their path, and so the energy spreads and manifests itself into something beautiful. one person is not just one person. one person is the collective consciousness experiencing that one physical body. we are all one, but our individual gifts are what we will use to bring us closer.

    We can BE the change we desire..💚🌞🌻🌄☕️😘 Thank you for sharing your gorgeous countryside. This is a part of England I rarely see. Thank you for showing the scary tree. I like the way people came by and added their tokens..In NYC, some folks were “yarn bombing “, for a bit. I loved seeing the unexpected knitting or crochet wraparounds on items such as parking meters, bike stands, & of course tree trunks. ~ As a fellow Crafter, I enjoyed seeing these surprise “ gifts “ to public spaces. ~ This started out in Seattle , Washington by a group of radical girls who were doing these secret “ yarn bombings” ( the name they chose to describe it ) as a sociopolitical statement. Whew ! Tough word to type on a tiny iPhone screen. 😆 ~ On a personal ( human scale ) level, I LIKED seeing these yarn bomb / wrappings, as it brought to mind fond memories of my female elders who taught me how to knit & crochet. It brings a sense of warmth, softness, and most welcome color, to the experience of NYC, which is primarily monochromatic silver & grey, metal & stone & glass . And finally, I see it as a personal expression of a human being. Just like your big old tree, scary in form, but covered with all kinds of beautiful toys & gifts.. perhaps people were inspired to install these love tokens as a gesture of “~ personal touch. “ I just found your channel recently. So nice to meet you, and I see lots of lovely people to chat with on the comments as well. I’m watching & listening from NYC, ☕️🚍🏙💌

It seems everyone around me is interested in things that I think are stupid. You can't have a serious conversation with anyone. Yeah, that's how I felt for a long while. I don't know how old you are but I'm guessing I may be older. I'm 17 and I still experience this a lot but there are a lot more people who are willing to listen to you, and even if they don't understand, they may look up to or be inspired by you. I've found that by talking more often and seeking out opportunities to share my thoughts and feelings, many people actually do care about more than this superficial world. They don't need to be an INFJ or INFP to feel that way, but sometimes they may need one to remind them of the more important things in life.

    My god, Tom. Watching this had my stomach in all sorts of knots. I have, on more than one occasion, tried to engage other people in this subject of pervasive inauthenticity. Not once have any of them truly gotten what I was saying, they were completely blind to it (mental picture: social blinders; like what they used to put on horses to reduce distractions). Even my very closest friend/roommate that has been in my life for 15+ years tells me that I need to just accept things as they are and stop robbing myself of joy by obsessing over some unrealistic ideal. That makes it so much harder, when those closest to you don't/can't understand. How is it possible to feel like your alone on an island and completely out number at the same time? Crazy. So glad to see like minds out there. Currently sitting in a coffee shop on the square watching it rain right now. Not all is bad in the world, there are still beautiful things and beautiful people out there. (AWESOME video quality by the way. Beautiful share. I always find the coolest things when I'm not looking for them.) Till next time.✌🏻

    I always have these types of rants in my head. It's really hard to find something positive when you know that all the politicians are just ... Crap. And the people are just sooo empty this days. They do not feel the need to improve, to grow ... It doesn't help either that they are distracted with celebreties, or hating each other for being of different race, religion, nationalities, "Political Partys" ... I don't even know why people support them! It's all the same with very little differences!
    Hey! look! I did my own little rant lmao.
    I found out that I was INFJ a few months ago and your videos help me a lot. It makes me glad find out that I'm not alone! (Really ... Somedays it feels very lonely).
    I'm gonna leave comments more often here. I usually don't do that because... Well, I speak spanish and it takes me a lot of time to think how to form sentences in english. But, I suppose this counts as "practice" for the future!

    As usual, everything you said is on point. It's so comforting to know other people care about creativity and originality and just realness..
    I'm curious what kind of music you enjoy. Personally, everything on the top tracks makes me cringe, and I hate to be a music hoe, as my friend keys it, but I can't help myself. I typically love sad and powerful music, rock and roll, some alternative and indie, anything with a true melody. Unbeknownst to my friends, my favorite music is orchestral music and soundtracks. Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, Audiomachine, Thomas Bergersen, James Horner, and so on. That music makes me feel alive.
    The tree sort of reminds me of the Shoe Tree in Nevada. (Google it; it's worth it) My family and I stopped there on our road trip when I was eight. I threw my own flip flops up there lol. I found out years later someone cut it down, and it broke my heart. It's still stuck with me all these years.

    I never ever comment on videos, but I absolutely loved this one. This is your best video yet. So real, so pure, so naturally you. I'm not alone in this world after all. Imagine being awake and living through the insanity they called the 2016 election of he who we do not name and living in northwest Florida between two airforce bases. I felt (still feel) like I was on crazy pills or that some how I slipped into a paradox world of the one I've always lived or thought I did. Everyone I personally knew voted for him just because he was running as a republican. No other reason. They would tell me they felt guilty about it and wished there was someone else to vote for because of all of the horrible things you probably already know about him but they hated Hillary because of Bill and didn't want to relive that again. Everyone but my mom said they would have voted for Bernie. My mom thinks a democratic socialist is a communist even though I read the definitions out loud to her from a dictionary. (She's a baby boomer)
    Sorry... I just ranted, better stop. I completely melted in your country side walk that honestly didn't feel complete with out that creepy old tree. I do the same at the beach, completely alone but not recording myself.

    Loved the whole countryside! Especially drawn to roots on the tree to the right, just as you zoomed in on the little fence. It's odd how we tend to always know just what to do as we have been through it millions of times before. Thankfully we are able to use creative abilities to bring our genius to the masses. Never before have we had what we do now today, nor the amount of energetic potential so we must take advantage of technology to broadcast our souls purpose. I need to practice this myself but I deeply feel much contradictory within myself and well that could be an INFJ trait. However, in my research I seem to understand there's a polarity, duality point to all that is which equals nothing.
    White-BlackADHD- TRANQUILITY- CALM/nature
    We must balance the baton/poleTo attain alignment & creativity.
    Ignore what doesn't resonate with your soul and flow towards what does. Focus on what you want and it shall be.

    This is great. :D One thing I've realised is a lot of people are having these thoughts but they're having them quietly, away from family and friends for fear they might upset the balance, that other people won't see where they're coming from. And this is exactly the problem, a society that tries to push people into a box, to have them conform and educate them not so they are the most intelligent and innovative but so that they feel there is no other feasible choice but to uphold the current system. Many people see through it and realise they don't relate to the herd but until they see other 'black sheep' standing up and expressing their views it's a scary thing to go against the grain, to, as you said, make other people think about things that make them uneasy. That's why having conversations like this are so important to empower others to take action to create a world that works for US.

    I love discovering slightly mystical places like this tree of yours. It seems totally magical - I came across the skeleton of a dilapidated old house in a forest off the coast of Wales once. It was covered in messages and graffiti - it didn't spook me at all, I just found it enchanting. Have you added anything of your own to the tree? :)
    I also find the state of UK politics very disillusioning and disheartening. That being said, I'm fortunate to live in a city where I'm constantly seeing like minded, passionate people go out and do what they can to help make positive changes on a grassroots level. That's the kind of thing that inspires me and lets me retain some hope. I don't know how much of a difference we as individuals can make in the world, particularly when it feels we are a minority trying to tackle something as big as changing the state of mainstream play. But minority influence can and does happen. As a throwback to your Frodo and Sam reference as you explored the lovely countryside - 'Even the smallest person can change the course of the future'. We just have to do what we can, like you making these videos. So please don't lose your hope :)

    First of all, Mr. Tom thank you for taking us on this walk with you, the scenery and that Tree is simply majestic and surreal, lovely really. I was so there with you that I could actually smell your surroundings. Amazing how that works.
    When you mentioned that nothing anymore is authentic, you are so right. What I might introduce you to is some of the behind the scenes of our worlds going on’s that may or may not surprise you, I know your aware of of the end results, but you may not necessarily be aware of what, at least in part of some of the things that are causing a lot of our collective and global social ills these days, it’s a big story and its going to take some time to really dig in to see and understand what I am saying, some will even say it’s conspiratorial in nature but there is much truth to what I am about to say. So please try not discounting it, you in truth already know deep down inside of you.
    You, just like me are Intuit’s and we can see things that not everyone else can see, we can scenes the turbulence within our very being, we just don’t always know what it is exactly, but it lives almost inside of us.
    It’s called by many names, some call it the Illuminati, some call it the Cabal, some call it the Deep State whatever anyone wishes to call it, it’s been in the making for around 13 millennia but it has built its tentacles in every aspect of life on this planet with ever increasing mobility over the last 10 years or so. And it is this that you feel and yet you can’t see it with the eyes but only feel it as the energy vibrations of it seeps into your being. You know something is not quite right and being an intuit, it gets absorbed by people just like you and I and as you know, its can be a very heavy load to carry around we can not only feel the energies of people around us, be we can feel the entire globe at times as well and its tough, really tough at times to endure because it’s such a heavy energy.
    I don’t want to go too far into this here and now as many will reject it and what I am trying to say will become lost in a sea of doubt, its really something that each individual has to research for themselves to full gaps its vastness. Think of the Movie “The Matrix” Take the Red Pill or the Blue Pill well I took the red pill a long time ago and have been on a journey that I could never have imagined growing up. It is very dark and very evil that came here long ago to take over and control humanity and it has Infiltrated itself in to almost every government and bank and cooperation on the planet and this is what I refer to as the Deep State or shadow Governments including the Crown of England.
    I am in the United States, but this cabal has created this same problem everywhere, this evil group does everything in its power to divide and concur us all and all over this world, Now, on a good note, things are now changing big time and this cabal is being systematically dismantled, how it all plays out exactly is anyone’s guess but you can see it now by paying attention to what’s happening, not necessarily from mainstream sources but other dependable alternative sources, but its very hard because you can’t just pick up one source and decide this is the truth, it takes man sources and much time connecting the dot. Its not easy and most people can’t oe refuse to bother, for whatever reason, I have been put on this path so help research, understand and help the rest to come to grips of the magnitude of this monster.
    Bottom line, is that I think it is for this reason many of us that consider themselves INFJ can feel and fiind ourselves absorbing all this negative energy that most of the planet is feeling, for me, now that I know where some of this is coming from I can better deal with it internally, I still get down and out as you described but its far less than what it’s been in my past
    Anyway, I know a long post but ill leave you with this quote that I find appropriate in this moment.
    “What we think we know is a drop, what we don’t know is an ocean” ~Unknown btw way, you are the new media,

    I really respect and admire you for making these videos... sometimes I feel so alone in thinking these things about the world and it's refreshing to see that someone else shares my perspective. And it's fucked, it's fucked that we're conditioned to ignore it and the path to happiness seems to be to indulge in all these lowest common denominator things because thinking about it is so soul crushing. I think that's why we need good music and art more than ever

  • @noboxoffice
    @noboxoffice Před 7 lety +1

    I love this video! It's got such a good vibe the way you juxtapose being out in nature totally away from any town or people, to talk about the pitfalls of society as a whole, like just getting away and stepping back and recognizing the way the world just keeps turning and everyone keeps getting caught up in it- meanwhile that with tree has been there for hundreds of years regardless of who's in the government. I know your chat was a bit cynical- but obviously we all feel the same, and just paired with all that nature its just weirdly comforting? Like the mainstream ignores deep emotions and thoughts but it's all still there, waiting for us to seek it out. And that's the stuff that really matters. Your videos are always a comfort in reminding me that it matters to other people, despite what the tv and magazines and social media says.
    I don't know if that made sense, so TL;DR I just loved the real talk juxtaposed with nature. Just a really good vibe, not happy, not sad, but just- deeply comforting. :)

    I agree with what you've said, but I also think that there is still hope for the political system. I live in the U.S., and during last year's election there was a candidate named Bernie Sanders. People who were supporters of his, (myself included) chanted "Feel the Bern!" and it was because he inspired us. He moved us to feel an indignation for the current political system, and a love for other people and a drive to change the world and help those around us, specifically marginalized groups. He was cheated out of winning the nomination for the Democratic party at the Democratic National Convention even though he had thousands more supporters (no surprise there, since society is only interested in protecting itself and maintaining the status quo) and they nominated an absolute crap candidate--Hillary Clinton. There was nothing inspiring or moving about her, and she merely said what liberals have been saying for ages and she was a total robot.
    But my point is that there can be people in politics who actually care about us. And they are rare. John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Bernie Sanders. I sometimes despair and it is easy to paint everyone with the same brush when it comes to these things because it seems like there is no hope left. But with people like you and like me, we can change things. Little by little, through our examples of kindness and charity people can come to see a better way to live. Thank you for this video and for so eloquently expressing the thoughts I have all the time. Take care, Tom. In the words of Bernard Sanders, "Never lose your sense of outrage!"

    Thanks for making this video. I'm definitely on the same page and can see a little of the anger in you that I feel myself about living in this day and age. There's no escape from it. The English countryside is so beautiful and you have such a nice clear camera. I could almost smell the grass. Really lovely!

    I LOVE THIS VIDEO!✨💖 Definitely agree with what you said-authenticity is such a refreshing thing to experience in this day in age while the common morals and attitudes seem anything but.. Btw beautiful scenery! Your countryside looks very similar to where I live in Oregon, gotta love the lush green hills and all those amazing Oak trees 😍😍😍

    I know what you are saying about change of the world to shell of itself. Feels like a circle instead of reality, maybe that’s partly why everyone has feelings of no future. Nothing feels authentic. Tired of all fake ness, except for Snapchat, I cannot help it, I love those cheeky bunny ears and ridiculous hearts around my head.

    Tom, the reason you probably like the open gate is probably that it has subconscious symbolic significance pertaining to transition. Like, going from being stuck to living life, a new field/place in life to explore. Bruce B.

    I miss the English country! I stayed in Weston-on-Avon for a week, and it was blissful! I wish I was there, the theatres in Stratford... the Shakespeare education centre... that tree actually reminded me of Blackadder when you mentioned witches xD Three witches standing around a gigantic cauldron... lol (Why am I thinking of Ancient Greece now?)
    Gosh, sometimes I wish I could emigrate if it weren't for current affairs! This constant dissent is toxic!
    If only I had a tangible idea of what to do with my life!
    See, now I am ranting. But it's no fault of yours, it's my indecisiveness... well, and the usual.
    It was still lovely and awesome to see this video in all this turmoil. Thank you.

    Hey Tom ! being an INFJ I thank you for your great channel !
    I also recently found out I had Aspergers (pretty late diagnosis considering I'm 21) and your videos, even if not directly adressed to aspies, some of the struggles you faced and talk about echoes in me and help me copy with a great deal of deep down buried emotions.
    I'd like to know your point of view on Asperger and if you know any aspies, and a possible link between MBTI types and Asperger, INFJ being a 1% of the population type.
    Thanks Tom !!

    • @tomdavison2784
      @tomdavison2784  Před 7 lety

      I don't have too much experience with Aspergers but do know a little bit about it. Having been diagnosed with ADHD myself I've also been giving thought to links between MBTI and certain conditions, but all these things become so intertwined with corresponding factors it's hard to say what caused what. There's so much that goes into making a person it's very hard to define but that's part of the fun.

    Politicians are selfish. Im not writing about the politicians who take the taxes and fill their pockets. Im writing about the 'good politicians' who only think about whats good for 'their' country and 'their people' (rarely found) even if the neighbouring countries are dying in hunger. There is no concept of 'universality' in this world. As a species we are so arrogant and ignorant that we forget that we are (as Carl Sagan said) "just a pale blue dot" in an infinite universe.

    • @leighsanders8825
      @leighsanders8825 Před 5 lety

      Thank you for your comment. Yes, even the politicians that do seem to have a moral compass look through a tribalistic lense most of the time. Social evolution requires a global, yes even universal perspective, if we are going to survive as a species and even as a planet. I say this out of love, not negativity, although what I see fosters a lot of negative feelings in my psyche. I have to constantly look toward health and nuturing as a guide to lift me out of depression. Over my 61 years, it just looks like we're on an out-of-control trajectory and it leaves me anxious and depressed to the point that it becomes a real struggle to find connection. Thank you for the beautiful video. Truly a breath of fresh air. You young INFJs are so fascinating. Wish I could see how far your journey will take you by the time you reach my age. You are the beautiful people in my world! 💟☮️🌎

    Feel you on this bro. Nature is our cure 😁👍. I'm so drawn down to. Country is fucked and people have become numb. Living the illusion full of materialistic 💩 technology and no communication. I hate and feel so isolated and alone its unreal. Give me an island with essentials to survive I'll be happy away from humanoids. We have an higher purpose bro and as long as we stay unique and full of compassion then our soul will always be free. People have lost there way and unfortunately most to far headfucked by a fake reality we will struggle with life, simply because we were designed for communication and love. Only few make it bro. Stay strong and get with nature at least once a month. 😎🤗😁and yep politics are mentally insane children that think it's ok to gain whist others suffer. Just remember karma's real. • @yoyoyoyo7631

      The worst thing about politics is that the 'value' of any given politician is always juxtaposed with that of the opponent and is rarely intrinsic, especially so at the time of a crisis. In fact, Corbyn may be just as calculated (eg posing with the Grenfell Tower fire victims as opposed to predictably cold and detached May) but is better at creating an impression of being more 'human', in line with the party's 'values'. The important thing is the agenda and this is by definition unknowable, as far as the public is concerned. The only solution to navigate this system is to actually educate yourself to try and foresee what the agenda may be, who are the stakeholders and what are the mechanisms by which the official agenda is promised to be delivered. The thing that annoys me the most in this day and age is the total dumbing down of the population which is incapable of discerning facts from 'alternative facts' and pundits from charlatans. 'If it confirms what I already feel is true, it must be true. If not, it's a scheme'.

    • @tomdavison2784
      @tomdavison2784  Před 7 lety +2

      I educated myself about what the agenda was years ago and even if my head falls back into the sand occasionally, seeing so much of what was foreseen coming to fruition is quite remarkable. In these days of instant news and entertainment, It's actually the gradual slow unfolding of an agenda behind all the 'noise' that proves to be most effective method of social engineering and control. Playing devils advocate it's quite genius really, the clever bastards.

      and I definitely agree with the political hypocrisy and inaunthenticity, but people are in all shades of colour and I can't say our society has completely been overtaken by "bro jokes" etc. It does make me sick the charades our politicians conduct on the big screen. I can't even watch comedy shows anymore because they're biased towards building up political value. Honestly, politics and media is the death of humanity. Though, there is real humanity under all that. The British people more than Americans don't take shit from politicians. So let them play their games, I'm sure we'll win out in the end :) Jeremy Corbyn has to be a good start to that right?

    This tree is dead because of cancer - you can see these lighter spots.
    The true is that every one has his own hierarchy of values and everyone thinks that this is the real and meaningful hierarchy, like with religion - everyone thinks that his own religion is this authentic one;) The other thing is that people like mainstream because they don't need to think, they can just mimic others and this is very convenient because thinking hurts ;)
    You are telling us, your viewers, not to follow mainstream, but this video should be addressed to totally different people.

    • @tomdavison2784
      @tomdavison2784  Před 7 lety +2

      I'm starting to realise that simply ranting about the mainstream won't make many people leave it to join you because you just look like the 'crazy guy'. You have to free yourself from your own negative social conditioning and live by example of how life can be better if you let go of these old programmes. Ranting is just a lot easier : D I also suppose that if everyone always questioned society, whatever version of it, not a lot would ever get done. When you understand the bulk of society is comprised of 'sensors' maybe the prevalence of mainstream conditioning shouldn't be such a surprise. Still annoying though
