This is a behind the scenes look at the film Alice's Adventures in Wonderland from 1972! I was lucky to find this rarity on 16mm film and had it professionally scanned by Nicholas Coyle, who did a great job. Sadly, I can't upload the actual film for copyright reasons, but anyway, enjoy!

If Karen dotrice had been cast then she would have achieved the greatest opportunity of all time working with micheal Crawford who would go on to work with her older sister Michelle

Fascinating! And one of my favorite film versions of "Alice", along with the 1933 version. And the film makers were correct. Despite Alice's age in the books, she should never be played by a "child" actress. Alice, like Dorothy in "The Wizard Of Oz", should be played by an adolescent actress who can convey a child-like sense of wonder. Fiona Fullerton was 15 years old.
This was a very cool film. I love the 1972 version. If it had the Chesire Cat scene in the final cut, it'd be 100% perfect. Still it's a good Musical. And this is a great find
I'm still baffled why the Cheshire Cat was left to bite the dust, while the Tweedles stayed. Book accuracy was not on the menu I guess.

Still got this dvd that came.free with the Daily Express years ago. I watch it every Easter
Actress Lynne Frederick auditioned for the role of Alice but they thought she was too grownup and beautiful for the role. Her co-star from The Amazing Mr Blunden, Rosalyn Landor, also auditioned for the role of Alice. Karen Dotrice also auditioned and was also considered for one of the grand duchesses opposite Lynne Frederick in Nicholas and Alexandra.

I like how the actors in the movie of Alice's adventures in wonderland 1927 are performing the action and the architect is creating the objects that are used they paint the tea pot and the hall and the rabbit's house Alice as Fiona Fullerton was stuck in the house of the white rabbit when she grew larger and it eventually got a job selling real estate when the rabbit said they must burn the house down but Alice will set her cat dinah on them if they do

@@radioman970 I was worried that they might not end up doing it since last year was the exact 50th anniversary and nothing happened. I uploaded the best quality version of the movie on my channel from the Moving Picture Archive. It is cropped to 16:9 unfortunately and the sound is pretty bad but it’s still the best quality I have been able to get my hands on. The movie is in the public movie archive which is probably why so many low quality sources are scattered around on different dvd companies, but I’m trying to get my hands on a widescreen remaster by a company called “force video” that Apparently digitally remastered the movie in the early 2000’s.
I’m also not sure how the Public domain works with movies, like can 20th Century Fox/Rank group still make a remastered release of the movie (Since they are the original distributors of the film) even though they put it in the Public Domain? I always wondered why they made that choice in the first place.

Unfortunately, that isn't true. The copyright owner is Screen Media Ventures, and their legal department is very protective of this film.

They filed the copyright in 2001, well after the original rights holders allowed it to fall into the PD in '85, pretty sure that entirely legal and above board...
