    Real hip-hop/rap is what it means and does to me/us. Not what somebody else tells you, underground/commercial/whatever does that really matter? If it hits you it hits you. On topic, I am lovin this track.

    Damn, we got our own problems but this song makes you open your eyes to other struggles. My momz barely had money to buy a whopper for both of us yesterday. 25 is all we had. I spent the rest of the money on kush that she gave me to escape my depression. And then a homeless crackhead begged for my last Newport. It was all he could get at the time. I felt broke but I knew he was broker. It astonishes me how crooked this world has become, man. From wars, to rape, to infant abuse, to General Gun Violence, you name it. It's just a matter of time before the most unfortunate rise up and say the hell with it and just lash out at the system for giving us scraps to pick up and fight each other with. That's why sometimes it's best to focus on someone besides your goddamn self.

    I'm an Eminem fan but his lyrics don't really give any knowledge his more of a random rhymer. He's a good freestyle MC. Most of the people look at how many records he sold, so they say he's the best of all time.like technique said,"nobody is better than me, they just got better marking schemes"
    or what KRS said,"MCs be hopeless they think record self make em dopest". The only reason eminem is mainstream cuz of what he says on records. I still respect him,but underground MCs are better.

    @thestevester94 that actually does make sense. vicarious means : experienced or realized through imaginative or sympathetic participation in the experience of another. Also if you don't like his music, why go out of your way out of all of the videos on youtube to make a negative comment when you could be listening to music that you do like.

  • @TrIpPyUsErNaMe
    @TrIpPyUsErNaMe Před 11 lety +1

    Oh yeah, and that line "I live vicariously through my kids Like a parent who loves a sport but can't play for shit." makes sense to me. His kids are like him without him directly making them, they are indirectly becoming more like him from being around him, they came from him. it makes sense. Like a parent, who loves baseball, but can't play, so he puts his kid in baseball to appreciate the sport and his kid.

    LYRICAL raw hip hop album of the last 5-10 years NO QUESTION. First time I heard bolic on RECORD was on the DWD secret song, but I was a soph/jr in college when it came out (03 i believe, possibly 01) and GO AHEAD AND GRIP GLOCKS verse made me go GOD DAMN...I knew he was SUPER DOPE and that I had seen him somewhere before and then it clicked that I had seen him get SCREWED on a Showtime (whose next) contest where he spit a free AND MURDERED this wack female mc (but got jerked)...

They had the best live show I've ever seen. As far as the other MCs go, I haven't heard of Louis Logic, so I'll definitely check him out. The others, like I said, everyone's got their own method of judging. All incredible artists though. Especially Elzhi and Em (Michigan represent!)

    @jthesnake77 I wish Kamachi hadn't left AOTP. The religious imagery he brought to his verses (especially on Pages In Blood) was out cold to me. His Concrete Gospel album was dope though. And I think Celph's verse on Seven was the best verse on Ritual Of Battle. You're right about Tech's more laid back stuff too. Leaving The Past is one of my favorite songs of his. Still, to me he's just as good technically as any you mentioned aside from Bolic. Although I'm sure I can't convince you of that.

    @htpdemoneyeskyo Před 14 lety

    @ChunkyPirate Both incredible MCs right there. Crooked I is better at going off the dome no question, but lyrically I don't feel he's as versatile as Tech. Kinda the same with Vast Aire. His stream of consciousness stuff kills it, but Tech's got him on politics, battle rhymes, and story telling, I feel. Also, the way Vast flows kinda slow makes him sound like he's freestyling most of the time, giving himself time to come up with the next lyric. Not that he's off beat or anything.

  • @moggish

    @jthesnake77 Ha ha, yeah I feel you on the yelling, although it IS nice to know that his delivery will be consistent. You don't have to worry, "how will his voice sound on this?" You already know. I guess when I judge lyricism, I tend to look at the big picture. Storytelling ability, wordplay (by which I mean metaphors, similes, puns and so on), and having something to say holds just as weight to MY OWN PERSONAL judgment of who is a good lyricist.

Tech gave Vast a shout out on the "Beef and Broccoli" skit from Revolutionary Vol. 1, and Crooked guested on "Lick Shots" from The 3rd World. That would probably be a great way to get a perspective on things. Just listen to both their verses back to back and compare.

Bolic's got him in terms of the technical aspects. He's also a better off the dome freestyler than Tech is these days. And I think he bodied Tech on that hidden track from Revolutionary Vol. 1.
