Hey my fellow Austrian Geek, glad to see you are back!
what is the model of light?
What were you saying about prores being bad on PC, and to use dnx?
Well - The problem is, that there is still the gamma shift bug present with some renderers / encoders. A few got fixes - But its still the case with some (while you´re cutting or in the original footage before using the encoder the exposure is ok - But it shifts as soon as you encode the footage). So that´s the point why I mentioned that its better to use DNxHD instead of ProRes if you´re working on the PC (as the Atomos Ninja Blade offers both codecs). On MAC its better to use ProRes on the other hand. It´s just faster there (and it´s a standard codec there). ^^
Yep. Though: I need to test the newest CC if the gamma shift bug is still there - Until now even with CineForm as intermediate / pre-rendering codec (with MOV wrapper) there was still the gamma shift bug present. I hope they fixed that. It´s quite annoying, to have different gamma levels (just because you use different pre-rendering and output settings). Especially since Premiere is very unstable with some effect combos - Therefor its nearly a "must have" to pre-render some parts (and I like CineForm as it´s taking a lot of space - Yes - BUT its also super fast to render ^^). About ProRes export in general: Well - Again one point gone why people need to use FCPX / Final cut. Altough I understand why many still use it and dont want to switch (Adobe is just A MESS according stability and bugs) ...
