When my girlfriend and I started dating I would pretend that I never had to pee because I never wanted to go to the bathroom at the same time as her. Like if she said “oh I’m going to use the bathroom real quick” I didn’t want to be like “oh me too” but I also didn’t want to wait for her to come out and then be like “oh now I suddenly have to go” haha so I was basically always about to pee my pants in the beginning

In some Asian country, if the couple is told to be looked alike, it means a compliment that you guys were born for each other. It's like a fate that you guys will be together forever. In my country, it is.

My favourite story is when my ex and I were invited to a party where we didn't know many people. We introduced us with a couple of guys sitting and drinking. They seemed cool so we wanted to join them. There was only one empty chair at their table, so my ex sat down on my lap. I was hugging her from behind and kissing the back of her head. The guys said "So, you two are like best friends, or what?". I smiled calmly to them, and said, dead serious: "We're actually cousins.". Then my ex turned her head around and kissed me on the mouth. We had a great laugh after seeing their shocked/terrified faces lmao

Yep! Or they gave us automatically seperate beds and I had to ask them to change that which is pretty uncomfortable..
I lived about a 4 hour train ride from my GF and grabbed some flowers for her when I changed trains. When I got there she met me with a bouquet of roses. Awkward but kinda nice. We had a good laugh.
None of these has ever happened to me because 1) I don't date and 2) I'm deep in the closet lol.

My mom has always referred to my wife as my "friend". We are recently separated I told her we were both sad about it. She says even to me, nobody else around, "well you both will be for a while. You were 'friends' for a long time." It's disrespectful and homophobic. On a more positive note no matter our relationship status we have always and probably will always share clothes and accessories. Lol ♡♡♡♡♡
ugh...the worst nightmare...when your parents disrespect you and your partner. It happened to me too... my father called my girlfriend " Oh so your boyfriend sent you some money right? " . He's homophobic and won't accept us.
So here's something you should tell them. "I am happy with my partner and your being disrespectful which make us uncomfortable. Being around family members shouldn't feel uncomfortable." If they care about your happiness they will apologize. If they respond nonchalantly then unfortunately you'll need to stay away from negativity.

That pisses me off so much. It's toxic and narcissistic. I would probably "snap" and post flyers all around the house and (maybe in the neighbourhood) saying "Hey, I have a wife, not just a friend. Hope you understand now, mom. Since you cannot learn things when people speak, maybe you can understand them when people write.".

Yeah... I've been introduced as "family friend", "college friend", "work friend" or just my name and nothing further. At a gf's family party one of her cousin thought I was my brother-in-law's gf "because I spent so much time with them" she couldn't even imagine I was her gf and not his.... 😵😨🤦

I've been dating/living with my GF for almost 5 years, and my mother still introduces her as my friend or my best friend. Then it's like awkward standing there, I', looking at my mother in disbelief while my GF is looks horrified almost and doesn't know how to move on from it. It's hard and very disrespectful, hopefully one day she'll be able to actually acknowledge what's happening in front of her eyes.
What if your mother believes some friends are like you 2 until they enter straight relationships. As a boyfriend placeholder or self pleasuring for single people. What if they been in the same situation and they're like " been there, done that, I know what this is "
Honestly it sounds like shes purposely doing that....you need to seriously talk to her about it.
You should just correct her right away when she does it. Might be a little embarrassing for her, but then again she's putting you in an uncomfortable situation too.
Oh I would make a fuss immediately and totally argue with my mom.
That's denigrating, saying she is embarrassed to the point she won't admit to her friends the real situation. I guess it comes down to how much disrespect - if any - are we willing to tolerate?
Love this video! In Dutch the word for -friend who is a girl- and girlfriend is the exact same: vriendin! So when my GF and I introduce eachother or someone else introduces us, it's ALWAYS weird😂 I want people to know we aren't just (girl)friends, but GIRLFRIENDS, because I'm so proud to be with her, but with the language thing it just sort of hangs in the middle and makes for some pretty awkward situations😅

For my situation, there's a clear line in between. We call girlfriend which already means we are in a relationship, but if girl/guy friends we just call friends.. 😂

Yeah in Hungarian too > barátnő. When it comes to introducing I usually hold her hands or show some affections so actually not that hard to clarify the situation. :D But when it’s just me trying to tell how I will spend the evening with my (girl)friend eat out or shit - with me being fully out I can always see them giving me the ‘soo that’s gonna involve sex or no’ look. :’D
For some reason, when people start living together they start to look alike. I don't know why but they do. I've see it happen.
I‘ve read somewhere that couple share the same lifestyle and habits (food etc.)when living together, so they start to look alike

Happy for you all. My aunt is in a lesbian relationship and as a kid I didn’t think much of it. However, my other aunts did(big family) looking back on it they made such a big deal made my aunt feel less than which was wrong.
Her daughter didn’t like her mother in a same sex relationship which caused a lot of drama. Nevertheless, years later it has been normalized. Understanding is key.
I remember dating a lady and we went to a bar with a group of our friends. I wanted to have a bathroom break to check myself in the mirror and get more centered because I felt a bit anxious, but the lady came in there too, and it was a tiny two or three person bathroom. We could have girl talk about how the night was going with the other friends not listening, but there's something odd about checking how you look to someone who is standing right next to you when you are first dating. You want to look nice for them, but you don't want to look too vain or insecure about it.

I myself am so not my type. My gf looks completely different from me, and if I weren't with her, I'm pretty sure I'd have a gf who also looks very different from me, most crushes I've had do.

Here is the thing about doppelganger. A long time ago, reading about psychology, I came across that we, as human beings, are tent to date a person alike us, not exactly as a double but with some similarities with us; therefore, we can tell it is a psychological thing: To feel attracted to people that somehow look like us.

And as soon as I did, she was right there, in my face, and proceeded to ask for my number and facebook. We always be mistaken for friends. We have straight friends, and when we go out, guis always hit on us. When we say, hmm we're actually a couple, no one believes us. Hate this. We're like in the middle of our 30.
I have an exact opposite annoyance........ when I'm hanging out with a friend (always a different friend too) at lesbian events, it annoys me when other lesbians think we are together. And when I tell them, we are just friends, they won't believe me. We don't touch each other at all, we don't even sit close either.

The bathroom thing has happened to me! My crush and I were at a friend's house and when I came out of the bathroom, I found her in the hall waiting to go in...I did not like that! I want to also comment on the doppleganger phenomena. Hopefully, I'll articulate myself well, lol. Both of you are incredibly beautiful women, but I do find myself drawn to Lilian's face more and I think it's because of her nose... I have a similar nose-tip as hers, but growing up I felt very insecure about my nose in general. And while Lilian's is a prettier nose, having that shared characteristic with someone so obviously attractive seems to validate the potential attractiveness in mine. So, my theory is that if a person feels low about their appearance and then meets someone with a similar look but who is attractive, then the crush develops. Does that make sense? Love your content!

So funny story, my partner and I asked each other out at the same time and the same exact way. I luckily got it out first but here’s the image, I drove to her family cabin for the holidays and I knew I was about to meet EVERYONE and we weren’t dating yet (how lesbian of us lmao) and so I planned to bring her flowers and ask her to be my girlfriend. As soon as I asked her, Jess laughed and said yes, to which I was confused. So I went into the cabin, said hellos, and moments later when we were alone, Jess brought out flowers and said, “you beat me to it, but I was also planning to ask you to be my girlfriend.” So I truly hope if we get engaged that it doesn’t happen again because I really want that to be special lol

Studies have shown that people are attracted to people who physically resemble themselves. So a lot of people, regardless of sexual orientation, wind up with people who look startling similar. Definitely can see it being more noticeable in the LGBT community because there's a lot more that can add into that resemblance like body structure/silhouettes.

I have done this before!! And i have pretty good gaydar but these two didn't have any of the conventional behaviors or tells. I felt so bad.
I think wether it's a same sex relationship or some hetero thing there are always couples that look alike. So it's not just a same-sex thing. At least that's what I noted.
Maybe the difference is that in a straight relationship both partners look like "the female version and the masculine version" of the same person 😂😂
But in a lesbian relationship you both are the female version, so you both look the same 😂😂😂

Yeah we get the sisters thing from time to time. Apparently our facial features are similar, which I dont think they are that much, but we both wear glasses and that does it I guess? Otherwise we really have different hair, different style, so yeah it keeps on amazing me where the sisters thing is coming from. As for the proposal: that sounds more cute than awkward to me! I think what is more awkward is asking her to marry you once she had already asked you and you started planning the wedding, so you obviously already know the answer and everything. That was a bit awkward to me (but still totally worth it!) Fun video, happy to see you two again :)

I would have never thought you look like sisters. I'm straight and I know more man/woman couples and I'll never forget that when I was a teenager a girl I knew brought her boyfriend around and we all just stared. They looked like twins. yeah, my dad used to have a co-worker friend, where his wife looked like him. When I saw them together, they looked like a brother and sister who had married each other. They had the same color hair, skin, and even the same type of nose shape, it was weird.

Interesting..... my ex-girlfriend was 11 yrs younger than me, and never did people think we were mother and daughter. We weren't the same race, and I've always looked younger for my age, so maybe that's why.

I have a girlfriend currently, we are only 14 and it's super awkward. We talk a lot through text but don't have classes together and are both in the closet about being bi from our parents. We hang out for maybe 1 or 2 minutes a day- I try to propose more opportunities to see her and even kiss her but she gets embarrassed and runs away. The bathroom thing! So true. But I realised it in a different way. I was at a madonna event and got to talking to a group of lesbians who were really nice... i was also questioning my sexuality having only been with men at that point... and i could tell one woman really liked me but i was not into her. It got a little intense for me (she was not inappropriate but i generally find it very uncomfortable when someone is into me and i don’t feel the same) so i excused myself and went to the loo... and she followed me there! This would not happen in most public toilets if you are being chatted up by someone of the opposite sex - the toilets are a safe haven!! Also people haven often asked me if my boyfriend is my brother!

My friend and her girlfriend did a homecoming proposal to each other at the same time. Not quite the same thing, but it was still cool
Ok so I have (sort of) experienced the first one!! And I never actually thought anything of it until now. I had just met this girl the weekend before while out drinking with some friends, we ended up exchanging numbers and talking quite a bit throughout the week. We planned to meet at the bar the next Saturday night. Saturday night comes and neither of us knew the other was there yet, and I walked out of the bathroom stall to her directly in front of me standing at the sink. It was a really awkward moment, I was a little mortified. Idk why it never crossed my mind that it would be something to worry about when getting into same sex relationships!

The crazy thing about the sister/best friend situation is everyone always assumes my best friend and I are dating (and I know a lot of girls get this) but everyone assumes when you have a same sex partner that you’re just really good friends or related???? How is it always wrong?
