- Olivia talks about going to a Pittsburgh Pirates game, being in the new Game of Thrones prequel show “House of the Dragon,” her resemblance to Game of Thrones actress Emily Carey who originated the role of Queen Alicent Hightower, her co-star Milly Alcock’s resemblance to John Mulaney, lying about Watching Game of Thrones before she got the job, being hungover and chipping her tooth the night before they started shooting, meeting all of the dragons, looking at show reviews on Twitter during show air, Paddy Considine revealing the disease that King Viserys has, and she reveals that simmering tensions between Alicent and Rhaenyra from the first five episodes are even worse when she joins the show.

She is hilarious and I feel like all her dry humor fell flat with the audience. Can't wait to see her Sunday!
She’s got very dry humour. All her interviews with Emma, she’s hysterical in them and I love ittt
Don't expect Kimmel's audience to understand dry humor
It's northern humour. It's how we are. She's fab.
I think Americans usually don't get British humor
@@BakaryD don't expect Jimmy's audience to understand humor
If I was in the audience, her humour would have me screaming
Yeah not sure why she got the silent treatment, god damn
@@SystemUnderSiege because Americans don’t get dry British humour which is her speciality
@@SystemUnderSiege because it's an American audience lol...
So you are special then??? Can anyone buy some of those tickets you have on yourself???
@@raymckee2450 are you confused?
Really shows the difference in UK and US humour! If Olivia acted like this in the UK she'd have the audience roaring
Americans just don't get dry humour and satire. Goes straight over their heads.
Shes got me laughing like crazy its insane
I think it's differences in TV shows and their audience. The people who watch these shows are aging wine moms.
Also she was really nervous, this is big for these actors. She never really engaged with the audience, she was locked into the host and focused on him. Which, everyone would probably do in their first big American TV interview.
Really excited to see her as Alicent. Olivia was great in Bates Motel and Sound Of Metal and I'll bet she's gonna be outstanding as Alicent
That's where I know her from!
About time she got a big role in a blockbuster show. Brilliant actress, will steal the show.
She’s also incredible in “Thoroughbreds” and “Men and Earl and The Dying Girl”…what a phenomenal actress. I stopped watching the show after the 3rd episode because it lost my interest. Might have to pick it back up
Don't forget "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" which is imo her best performance so far. An underrated gem of a teen movie
Also great in Thoroughbreds as well, which I recommend.
Shes so down to earth can't wait to see her performance.
Obviously she is not a big star yet. She will rise to stardom once Episode 6 of HOTD airs.
@@rinmartell2678 she was in a few big movies
Most actors who get cast in these kinds of shows usually are compared to those who are really exposed in Hollywood (though she's been in some Hollywood projects as well). I remember the cast of the original GoT, they started off a bit shy but they developed as the show got bigger.
@@rinmartell2678 what do you mean obviously?
@@edofluit6568 There are different level of being a celebrity. Some celebrities aren’t that well known. Not all celebrities are that big of a star. I mean most people didn’t know her before HOTD but almost everyone will know her as the actress of Alicent soon. So obviously she is down to earth, because she is no major star YET. Once she gets more famous, people should make such claims.
Olivia is finally becoming A list..I knew she would get far. She is absolutely divine and funny as hell.
A list?
I don't think you understand what the term means.
@@BrandonWestfall I agree. She is not quite A List yet. Those actresses don’t really audition or pretty much never audition because they don’t have to. Olivia still has to go through this process
Such an underrated actress! She’s good in everything she’s in. Also she reminds me of a young Rachel Weisz
Or christina ricci in the late 90s
OMGGGG this whole interview I was fan casting her for a mummy sequel as Rachel Weisz's daughter
literally same. when i first saw olivia cooke i just started thinking abt how she looks like a younger rachel weisz
Yes, I hate her already wich makes her a really good actress! Seriously this cast has been a delight so far!
Younger? She actually looks really old.
Olivia is an angel. Fell in love watching Bates Motel
She was really good in it, looking forward to her in HotD
same
They did a great job casting, I feel like the older rhaenyra and alicent mirror the younger actresses perfectly
I agree. I just thought it was good makeup. I just found out it was a different person. 😅
I think older rhaenyra doesn't tho, younger one was more adventurous and lively, older one is more mature and soft
@@puc2792 look at that from a character development angle. As she matured Rhaenyra learned that the trouble she was always looking to get into never got her in a good spot. But with the finale we see that fiestiness will return but now that she's mature it's a more tempered and knowledgeable fire than a wild one. Also motherhood alone changing her
She’s stunning. I can’t wait to see her performance in episode 6
She will steal the show
She’s not coming on till season 2
@@DaemonTargaryen13 wrong. She starts in episode 6
@@DaemonTargaryen13 she is coming in next episode
5/10 at best
she’s the perfect woman. she’s talented, beautiful, and has a nice personality.
shes average wtf are you people looking onlyfans?
@@anonymousone6075 get out bro
@@blahblah1939 simp
Hence, correctly cast as THE QUEEN.
She is NOT average. It’s very rare to encounter average looking women on television unfortunately (thank the patriarchy). Most women on TV are at least above average if not notably beautiful. Which leads to unhealthy beauty standards in women.
She and Paddy are BY FAR the best actors on the show and I’m in awe every time they’re on screen 👏🏻
Matt smith come on
You beat me to it, Matt Smith is freaking Brilliant!!
Matt smith also
Eve Best 👌
Facts. Eventhough Matt also amazing actor but I like him better in The Crown.
Ok but can we talk about this interview though? She's really funny and smart!
If y'all haven't seen "Me and Earl and The Dying Girl" you should, it's so underrated and Olivia's career best performance so far
I watched it years ago. So that was her? Wow. That movie, made me cry
I knew she looked familiar!
@@rodellonesto1269 yes the dying girl was her. She was great in it
And ready player one
Thoroughbreds is also amazing imo !
I seriously LOVE Olivia!! She's hilarious and confident and has great vibes! Her and Jimmy bounced off one another beautifully and the crowd loved her! I've loved her since I first saw her in Sound of Metal and am glad she's getting more love and recognition!
The great thing about GOT is that they know how to cast their characters. Somewhat unknown characters who are very skilled at their craft.
The arc of the story is pretty unknown to the general public unless youve read or followed the lore but the writing and the pacing of this show is very well done it hooks you into wanting more.
Cant say the same with Rings of Power.
I was so shocked when I heard she wasn't American and she's northern (Broad) English. I'm Northern English. I'm glad to see girls with strong, "less eloquent accents" getting roles 👏🏻
We don't all sound like we are out of Games of Thrones, Emma Watson, and Kate Winlet. All awesome, beautiful, talented women, too, though. There is space for everyone.
Love Olivia on Bates Motel!! She's gonna be iconic as Alicent for sure! 😭
OMGGG THATS WHAT I KNOW HER FROM
Yesss
Dudeee I forgot about herrrr. Its been a minute
I absolutely love her! I miss Milly and Emily dearly but I'm also looking forward for Emma and Olivia's performance ☺️
I like Olivia Cooke she is a great actress.😄
Great casting. Olivia and Emily Carey really look like siblings.
I've really enjoyed every interview I've seen her do. I haven't watched any of her work yet but from the trailers and her personality, I'm looking forward to it!
I predicted the ASOIAF community would fall in love with Olivia Cooke, and I can’t speak for the rest of them but I already have. Took me one episode. What a lovely and charming woman! 😍
I'm so happy Olivia blew up like this! Loved her on Bates Motel.
Such an underrated and amazing actress! First saw her in Me and Earl and the Dying Girl and then in Slow Horses earlier this year. So good! So glad she’s getting her flowers and more recognition in the states as well.
I’ve always loved her. From Me, Earl, and the drying girl, to Ready Player One, and Sound of Metal! This role is much deserved for her. I can’t wait to see where her career goes!!
Alicent is my favourite character in HotD till date.
Olivia is gonna make me love her even more.
Amazing actress and a beautiful one too.
I love her she’s so funny
I appreciate how Jimmy is just a fan.
Long description for this interview but I love it.
This was a great interview 😂😂
Been a fan of her since "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl". She was very young back then, but you already could tell that she had the Aura of an awesome actress.Besides, she's absolutely gorgeous!
She is amazing. I saw her first in Ready Player One, then in The Limehouse Golem (mystery victorian movie, its awesome!!!) and then in Vanity Fair. She s done lots of amazing productions
OMG I love her!!! Her scene gave me chills I am so excited to see her on Sunday!
Olivia is fastly becoming one of my favorite actresses 😁😁
She and Emma have the same humor and charisma as Emilia . Just very down to earth and sweet.
going to miss the young alicent, emily has been killing it & has a great presence & voice. olivia is going to rule, check her out in slow horses, she's only in 3 eps but think she's making a comeback in season 2 to play a bigger role, it's a really good spy drama with gary oldham
wait what she is in the next episode so i tought she would be in every episode from now on ?
Love her she’s outstanding
omg she’s stunning i love her voice her sense of humor literally everything about her 😅
Fell in love with her watching her in Bates motel! She’s gonna be amazing in house of the dragon 🐉
I loved Olivia in Bates Motel - so happy to see her doing bigger things years later.
Wasn't aware of Olivia, but now she has my attention
5:30 That gasp 😂😂😂😂
We were in the same your in school and we weren't friends but she was the nicest girl. And she's an absolute FORCE She deserves everything she gets. ❤️
Love this
Enjoyed Sundays episode
I freaking loved her in bates motel!!! Also she was amazing in the 6th episode today. I am so happy she is in House of Dragon. 🔥❄️🐉
man i love her so much, 'Me and Earl and the Dying Girl' is one of my all time favourite
'Thank God because...hit and miss' - Olivia speaks for the fans about Season 8.
Isn't her line about switching off her phone and going away before the episode also a dig at D&D 😂

^ Olivia’s so talented & stunning as always♥️👏🏼
She was awesome in Bates Motel, very excited to see her in this role!
Kind of sad to lose Rheanyra and Alicent young actresses. Hopefully the 2 new ones live up to their performances. Im sure they will.
I want this queen to have her own talk show. She really loves gossip..
i literally love that she’s never caught up or even knows what’s going on hahaha i love her
Great interview cant wait to see her on house of dragons
I just adore her since she played Emma in Bates Motel! So glad for her and all the recognition she's getting!
Emily Carey has been amazing as Alicent but I’m so excited to see Olivia Cooke in the role, she’s such a fantastic actor.
Actress*
@@Truth5eeker33 You can say either, ‘actor’ has kind of become a gender neutral term over the last 10 years
@@Truth5eeker33 actor has always been gender neutral. It really doesnt matter either way unless you make it matter
I prefered Emily Carey but maybe because she represented "innocent" Alicent.
@@icyman2 I know what you mean. Alicent has changed so much over the years into a more unlikeable character so it’s easier to gravitate towards the younger version. But both actors portray the differences in personality for the same character brilliantly.
I actually cannot wait till episode 6 😁😁
how many times have you had a giggle when she's telling her story at 5:26 me: yes
Allison Hightower is a great character so far!
AliCENT!
Yeah, along with Vizzy T, Ray Ray and Krispy

She is lovely this interview made me a fan
I have been a fan of her ever since Bates Motel and i am so happy she is getting more recognition
She’s chill, I love her personality and seems like a cool person ❤️
I love her songs my favorite is "Traitor"
Wahahahaha the gossip story! Imagine Alan Carr telling a whole lot of gossip 😂 Her reaction is so cute!
No one has mentioned Thoroughbreds. She was incredible.
Olivia will crush the role she’s a good actor and beautiful spirit 💯
i can't wait to see Olivia as Alicent
she's great in costume period dramas like Vanity Fair
I loved Vanity Fair!!
Before House of the Dragon aired, I only knew Olivia Cooke from Ready Player One and Rhys Ifans from The Amazing Spider-Man. I wasn't familiar with Matt Smith at all.
Really? You never seen Doctor who ?
Morbius ? 💀
Also Olivia was on bates motel too
Rhys Ifans has been in a lot of films, usually as support actor but he was a lead in "Anonymous" directed by Roland Emmerich. I first saw Matt Smith in "Last Night In Soho" and then in "Morbius", he's been everywhere lately 😁
Since Notting Hill all I see when I see Rhys is a pair of tighty ”whities”. He’s great obviously but I just cant get the image out of my head because it was the first time I’d seen him in anything.
Rhys Ifans also played lunas father in harry potter, didnt even clock it was him till i looked it up and its ironic cos he looked very much targaryen in that role
@@m_zero3009 which Brit actor hasn't appeared in a Potter movie? 😁
She's hilarious! 😂 and so genuine. We're rewatching Bates Motel right now, still a 10/10 show
She's lovely and so much fun! Looking forward to see her as grown Alicent
She's so beautiful last ep was crazy can't wait to see her in next episode
i want her as a friend irl omg she’s so funny
She is the best. ❤
The more you love your decisions, the less you need others to love your decisions. ♡
She seems so fun to be around ! Very excited to see her as an adult Alicent 😊
She is so funny! She is a great actress and i love her.
Olivia's so beautiful and such an amazing talent. Although I always freak out when I hear her speak in her real accent cos she plays Americans most of the time. She's great in everything, but check out her performance in Katie Says Goodbye.
She's seems so cool, I love it!
BTW Whole 'House of Dragon" main cast is British, am I right?
I love the way she´s portraying alicent hightower
She's so hilarious I love her
She’s unreal in everything she’s in, can’t wait!
She’s so expressive and sooo gorgeous!
Stunning
lol I love her. She's amazing!
Idk why it took me so long to recognize her. She was in Ready Player One. Really liked that movie. She had some kind of mark on her face and it made her not want to show herself to her friends in real life (they all knew eachother in a VR world) but I remember thinking it was silly because she was still absolutely gorgeous even with a mark on her face.
3:02 she gets kinda scared when he says he has a photograph and then she's like "oh that's a nice one" hahah
People just discover her from House of the Dragon, but she always be my lovely Emma from Bates Motel. She's always amazing actress.
I love her💖😫
She's a great actress and a pleasant person to interview.
I love her so much, great acting.
Omg, I love her personality! She's crazy 😆
I remember her from Bates Motel. So proud she’s getting more recognized! Can’t wait to see her in the next episode! 😊
She's so good in this role!!! Been killing it !!!
LOVE HER SO MUCH
She is Phenomenal in the role‼️
"though it is not really the past, as my wife reminds me every week." LMAO that was hilarous!
She killed it, new episode is soooooo goood
The series is cool because the book gives a few versions and you watch the version on screen (which is different) and it reflects what life is like
i’m excited for her performance however kinda sad with milly leaving :(
