  • As the Trump administration nears its first anniversary, we are witnessing an approach that is new and different. “America First” naturally raises questions among allies and partners abroad about the scope and depth of U.S. involvement in world affairs. This year's Saban Forum discussions and webcast sessions focused on the U.S.-Israel relationship, the future of the Middle East, and much more.

Saudi wouldn't have gone to war in Yemen if the US did its job to maintain peace in Middle East. Instead it removes sanctions against Iran and doesn't condemn Houthis (Iran's 2nd arm after hezbullah) violent acts in Yemen.

Ever see a tempered glass window break?? As external forces grow, the tempered window looks the same, not changing. As the forces grow, it does not flex or show any changes whatsoever. UNTIL, a breaking point is reached, and then the whole window shatters into bits. A regular window would have cracked sooner, leaving you with two pieces, that were still window-like
Well, the stresses in Saudi Arabia are growing faster and faster. The changes, I believe, are too small to avoid an eventual collapse.

The region will be in turmoil until the Hexagon Alliance achieves its objective to reduce the maximum number of the IFR and ID factors in the region and around the world. This alliance is undeclared and work is being done by the majority of the nations around the world to counter the two factors mentioned previously. I have been listening to the comments by leaders of the region and with the help of a system which I have named IRV. The year 2019 will take the region from bad to worse no matter what these analysts say in their discussion. Saudi Arabia, ten years from now will regret not mending their relationship with Iran by co-operating on the religious differences and geopolitical issues in the region.
I think and hope MBS is genuine in his vision for the future of his Kingdom. I would like the region to develop their own manufacturing base along with the service sector by setting up the innovation centres in order to be self-reliant. They should also develop their own agriculture enterprise by learning from countries who have delivered much more in produce with fewer resources at their disposal.

We have a strong relationship and believe in our leaders and those leaders are having enough experience to roll their country with the help of our nation !
At the same time we had many difficulties before and Allah helped our leaders to pass them!!
We are full of those junks who’s talking and lecturing about our future of our country ,,we built our country without a help of nobody and will continue to build it with our sincere and loyal societies,,, and keep your trash for ur selves!!

Tremendous efforts to put reforms from theories to implementation,
Finally Saudi Arabia is making the necessary and historical reforms, leave women driving , cinemas and religious police aside, those are major issues and have been solved already. I'm talking about a renaissance, a culture blooming into reality , a culture that was repressed by the religious realm, an influential power that would not have existed if not for the mental issues caused and left by imperialism in the region , it had its effect even on Saudi Arabia, and now I can say that Saudi Arabia has been healed.

Need to consider the root cause of issues in the middle east especially in Saudi Arabia which is: dictatorship and you could not resolve the issues without removing the root. As an Iranian I like the idea of power sharing represented by Freidman, historically middle east is the Persian/Iranian interested area to secure Iranian boarders; so for short term solution power sharing with all stack holders is a key.Trump administration incapable to deal with Middle East problems and obviously it would failed; by looking at his cabinet arrangement and himself who belong to the far right wing of capitalism system where dealers are presented; he is only thinking to make money to boost US economy by selling his Beautiful weapon to others. Trump is not a diplomat nor a politician he is only a good negotiator to make money. this is not what Middle East needs. Middle east needs serious powerful diplomatic efforts ..so I think before thinking to find a person to coach Saudi crone prince first it is better to find right person to coach Trump not to make the Middle East situation worse than now.

I used to be international student before 2012 and i decided to immigrate to the west as i lost the hope on the whole area
    Now i changed my plan
I think the change is coming with a lot of possible mistakes as part of any change movement
MBS is young, He is investing in his people and we are investing in him as a future king
We know that he has all the potentials to be a great leader
Revolution is not a possible choice in saudi arabia as we learned from Arab spring
    Arabic spring was a disaster
The corruption in society is worse than corruption in government with very low average age which with , illiteracy rate + lack of political control turns to be a total mess
MBS is working on society and on government at the same time
The average person in the west looks to an area with total of 400 M populations based on biased press and start to release judgment, if what we think matters then just listen to us

fahad alblaies Saudi backed Hadi government was meant to be for two years till they come up with political solution for a independent government representing all Yemenis. His time had passed plus additional two years that was illegal by the agreement! And tribal and ethnic power struggle of Yemen existed for centuries and in the past decades they had massacred houthis brutal crackdowns women and children burnt alive in mountain caves because they demanded their rights! Problem is Saudis want to rule all and refused to share power with Yemenis! And its their country not Saudis. We seen same with Qatar and Egypt then hariri of Lebanon forced to resign! Asad must go in Syria, Pakistan and Egypt must fight for us in Yemen because our soldiers are well fed fat pussies who hide behind Americans and other arabs just like with Iraq! You bash your women thinking you’re tough. Nobody likes you but take your money! Even tiny Qatar refused to take orders and laughed. You are weak like a indoor pet if you venture out you get killed. I have no idea where you are from, but your language represents typical paradigm agiainst Saudis engraved over the years by leftist Arabs and now being promoted by so called Muslim BRotherhood. I think you need ad your paradigm shift before you can make sound political conclusions. If you have deep hatriate against certain people, you will only be able to use bad words against them but surely doesn’t make you right.

Just as the collapse of the Soviet Union came suddenly, I think the collapse of the Saudi monarchy will happen suddenly. I think its current reform process is coming too little and too late. The Yemen war is a strategic mistake of colossal proportions.
History has shown that foreign wars, even successful ones, presage governmental restructuring at home. That will likely be the significant outcome of the Yemen war -- changes inside Arabia.
