The unique challenge of bringing broadband to rural America
Rural America disproportionately lacks access to high-speed broadband, an essential component of modern life. Though the issue-and many attempts to address it-go back much farther, the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act appropriated $42.5 billion for the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program to close the gap once and for all. In this episode, Tony Pipa visits Macon County, Alabama, and also talks with leaders from Jal, New Mexico, and Humboldt County, California to learn how they have overcome their challenges to bring broadband to their rural communities. And the director of the new BEAD program lays out the federal government’s broadband agenda.

The continents also face similar economic and development challenges and share colonial histories and cultural values. Host Landry Signé is joined by Amit Jain from the NTU-S...

I think it all boils down to usa being a democracy themself funds the military dictatorship instead of helping a democracy or just staying out of the issue altogether. Now the west firmly believes in getting involved in every issue which most dislike about them, but since you are gonna participate either way then your responsibility is to make sure to take the right steps and funding a brainless military dictatorship who keeps initiating a war for senseless reasons is the worst thing you can do. The muslims wanted a seperate country, we gave it to them, if they are still obsessed with us then thats not our problem naturally. They attack us and lose again and again and wont stop attacking until they win, thats extremely stupid. Now if they keep initiating wars on us ofcourse we are gonna defend and we have a right to do that. This man points it out like they are superior to us in some way and we should just give them whatever unreasonable bs they want to avoid conflicts. Now about the nuclear part, china and usa are equally responsible for funding and providing technology for nuclear bombs to this brainless animal who threatens the world with terrorism and blatantly says "tolerate terrorism and extreme hate for non muslims everyday from us or we will nuke you". Their whole country's daily life is guided by islam and islam is very intolerant to non muslims and dictates muslims to wipe out all non muslims. How is that india's problem? Now as far as India is concerned, we have the same stance as our prime minister Atal bihari vajpayee ji since 2000, we will not initiate a nuclear war first, but if we are attacked with nukes, we are ready to lose 25% of india but pakistan will be wiped out completely. We are capable of doing that but once again we have a history of never starting a war and that doesnt mean we will be a tolerant punching bag forever. This guy wants us to be on friendly terms but everytime we try to do that with pakistan we get backstabbed which he never mentioned. Something similar is happening to us with bangladesh and maldives, we have helped them get freedom before, taken refugees from them, provided them aid time and time again and now the opposition government is using anti india propogandas and islam agendas about non muslims to spread hate for india and get votes. Maldives is already regretting it and bangladesh will also regret it soon. So we have no interest in talking, trading, fighting with pakistan anymore but if they keep up with the terrorism in our country it will be an eye for an eye. During the partition in 1947, many non muslims had to stay in pakistan and many muslims had to stay in india, during 1947 the population of non muslims in pakistan was close to 10 million, now there are less than 2 million non muslims left after 76 years, they either get killed or forcefully converted to islam under threats. No humanitarian organisations will or the west will do anything about that but as soon as islam takes over the west they will force everyone else to be islamophobic. During 1947 there were 35 million muslims in india, now there are more than 200+ million and the government of pakistan has been fooling their citizens that muslims in india are being tortured and killed indiscriminately. We want nothing to do with pakistan and its people anymore. We can tell you what this interviewer wont let this guy speak, pakistanis hate usa because they are being fed by their goverment and the media controlled by it that all the inflation and slander of being a terrorist production hub is initiated by the US government and schemes by indians when its actually the results of pakistan government and army officials being extremely corrupt, USA and europe funding and providing military equipments to pakistan which leads to terrorism and corruption booming instead of helping India with anything during the last 50+ years. Now USA is still being diplomatic and instead of acknowledging its faults, acts like the big guy and says "both of them should just get over it". Indians have been aware of the whole issue since the beginning because our ruling government is very transparent about everything and even pakistani people are slowly getting to know about it because of social media. Pakistan has a very very big misunderstanding that nobody in the world knows what they have been doing all these years. Their argument about everything is "You dont have any evidence to prove what you are saying". The pakistan govt is extremely hypocrite even about foreign investments, qatar and poland have invested a lot in pakistan and are still waiting for payments, imf doesnt want to provide any more loans because pakistan never pays back the loans, every big politician and military general in pakistan has a net worth of 10 billion+ usd, but they are begging every country and imf for loans of 1-5 billion usd, they are slowly selling their country to china and saudi arabia and the people there are not even aware of it, saudi doesnt wants to invest there and wants to buy a huge chunk of land, the pakistan govt tells people that we brought in an investment of 10 billion usd, in a few decades you will see china and saudi occupying lands in pakistan legally and the illiterate people there destroying everything in a fit of rage. India doesnt wants to get involved in any of it. Lately china has been investing in pakistan and they have a lot of complaints about the pakistan workers working for them, they say these people take 4 hour breaks for worshipping, dont have any actual skills, they have never heard of deodrants, they are trouble makers. Pakistanis took that as blasphemy and attacked chinese supervisors for that, now they are paying monetary compensations for that to china in the millions. Most countries dont give visa to people from pakistan for these reasons, their prisons are full of people from pakistan. We really just wanna stay away from anything related to pakistan, even the normal public of pakistan is full of jihaadi suicide bombers and have terrorist mentality. If india merges with pakistan today, our biggest issue would be how to deal with 250 million jihaadis who have extremist mentalities, we cant even say they will improve after a few generations because they are not used to living in a democracy. Islam is incapable of coexisting with democracy which we have been saying for decades and the USA and europe are experiencing it first hand now. Ask random people on the streets in pakistan what they think about india, their responses are "Our books teach us we won 4 wars against them, indians are our enemies because they are not muslims and allah tells us to fight them to kill them or enslave them, they torture muslims in their country, they dont give us kashmir" 7/10 people will say things like these, even little children who are barely 10 year old will tell you such things, they are being injected with such poisonous things since they are born and educating them about islam is a priority over educating them about the world or teaching them any skills in pakistan. Its a failed country, failed government, failed military and a failure of 250 million people at being humans. I might lack humanity when I say this, but some people are beyond saving, the intolerant muslims fall in that category. Its not a question of whether your arguments are right or wrong when the other party refuses to listen to anything you have to say and resorts to protests and riots and violence for everything because you have created a system called 'secularism and humanity' which does not allow you to kill such people and ultimately becomes your biggest weakness in dealing with such jihaadi mentality muslims.

It's an interesting topic. So why is the military not the best solution to solving crises around the world? It simple if you understand the role of the armed forces, it's the way that they do their job, which makes it difficult to be given certain tasks. So then, can problems and task be reshaped to? The answer is simply no.

“We are now living in a multicultural world ….and if we trample on other people’s sacred values,” (we have lost). Beautifully said by a brilliant mind. MashaAllah. Islam always called for toleration between different Faiths and personalities for centuries since Prophet Muhammad’s time, peace be on him and all Prophets sent by God Almighty. To pretend toleration in any free society yet practice bigotry on the sidelines is to make people lose faith in what one’s said values are. This dichotomy happens in some schools and government positions all too often.

Discusses the concept of moving beyond GDP as a measure of wealth and considering other forms of capital, such as human and natural capital. Here's a summary of the key points: - **Beyond GDP**: The discussion highlights the limitations of GDP as a sole measure of a country's wealth and the need for a more comprehensive approach that includes various forms of capital. - **Human Capital**: The importance of human capital, which includes health and education, is emphasized as a significant component of a country's wealth. - **Natural Capital**: The role of natural capital, especially in poorer countries, and the need to manage it sustainably for future wealth is discussed. - **Policy Implications**: The conversation suggests that understanding the balance of different forms of capital can inform better policy decisions for sustainable growth. The idea is about valuing resources that contribute to a country's wealth in a way that supports sustainable development. The focus is on investment in human and natural resources to build a more holistic understanding of wealth that can guide better policy-making. The conversation suggests a need for alternative measures that account for a nation’s wealth, including human capital, natural capital, and produced capital. This aligns with the broader principles of ESG, which emphasize the importance of non-financial factors in evaluating a country’s or company’s long-term sustainability and ethical impact. While the page doesn’t explicitly mention ESG, it touches on related concepts of sustainable growth and comprehensive wealth assessment. ESG itself is a more recent framework that has evolved from various sustainability movements and the recognition of the need for responsible investing practices.
