It’s time for us to hit the outback! In this episode we visit the Pilbara, and it would have to be the best spot for outback free camping in all of Australia!
We take the 4wd shortcut into Tom Price before heading out to our first epic free camp of the trip. Here we enjoy an awesome campfire cook up under the stars and take in the peace and serenity of the Australian outback.
We find another spectacular free camp right next to the famous Hamersley Gorge in Karijini National Park and hike up to the natural spa pool here too. Then it’s time for a huge challenge: climbing Western Australia’s second tallest mountain peak, Mt Bruce, but it doesn’t start off with things going to plan!
This is our first episode from our time out at Karijini in the Pilbara, so be sure to hit the subscribe button so you’re ready for the next one!
We hope you enjoyed watching this episode and thanks so much for the support and kindness on our videos! We're on the trip of a lifetime as we travel Australia full-time so subscribe now to see the whole adventure.

Pretty speccy countryside that Pilbara hey.
Tip for you, wrap your patatos in baking paper, then the alfoil. It stops the skin from blackening👌

    FYI Peeps.
That road past the mine is constantly graded. BUT THERE IS ONE MAJOR DIP. This DIP does catch people out. The sign may or may not be up.
    The only fuel stops are
    Nannutarra
    Tom Price
    Auski
    Paraburdoo
    Pannawonnica
    Newman
TP and Auski are the closest to Karijini.
Do take plenty of water even during the cooler months as the days do get warm still.

This is one of my favourites, the footage is the best I’ve seen in the Pilbara. Regardless of what is open atm the journey & campsites there are magic. I’m grateful we had a special experience the first time too and luckily the water conditions were comfortable.
As you know we’ve been following your channel I think since the start and watch every episode every week, thank you for sharing this beautiful time in your life. You guys put so much into what you do, I just want you to know that it’s appreciated. Love having you guys on CZcams. Cheers Marg

Fabulous ……thank you . We do know Karijini , having been there several times since 1985 when it was known as Hamersley Ranges , with no bitumen roads , no camp grounds , no tourist info ……just in its natural state but always great for other visitor’s views . Can‘t understand anyone saying don’t bother about Karijini !!!!!!!!!

I'm a bit jealous that you guys are enjoying nice and warm weather in the Northwest while still a bit cold in Perth and the Southwest. Have fun you two!

Just a reminder to all viewers....you do require a permit to use most mine company roads.
Normally there are signs that state this at the beginning of the road both directions.

You did say that the water was warm?

    • @our.australia.trip.

Nah we don't really like to use any of that stuff, we do run a thermacell but thats mainly for mozzies and sandflies not that we've encountered much of that in our travels!

    • @paulcallan5540
      @paulcallan5540 Před 8 dny

@our.australia.trip. try using olive 🫒 oil extract from the leaves and it takes a few weeks to take affect. Once the extract is in the system it helps keep the miggies / sand flies away. I used this when I worked in the Pilbara on the ore trains .
