    ND and CPL are essential for filming, so a combined filter like this is really handy! Good tip about buying the largest and getting step-up rings for all your lenses. 👍

    Thanks David. I have a couple of K&F versions of the same thing just in case I need to use an ND filter which seems to be a rare occurance these days. Like you say, saves a bit of weight and great value for beginners or the more casual photographer 🙂

    I ended up loving these haida cpl-vnds over other less expensive filters. Theres just no X pattern like those others also having the 2 in 1 is very nice as well as build quality. I wouldnt cheap out if I could do it again cause now I have two other 82mm paper weights. Nice review

      Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, hope you found this useful. I still use this filter from time to time when filming B-roll segments with my main camera, it's very handy 😊👍

    David, thanks for the review. LIke you I am not big on lugging things around I don't have to and spend most of my time on the Lake District fells. I am not into the full filter systems that some people like (obviously a prefrence) with cost and weight not being attractive. I have seperate screw in filters CPL/ND but this looks like it could be a perfect solution, so will give it a go. Sorry you got rained off when you came to the Lakes, but it is a great place and different to parts of Yr Wyddfa so worth another visit.

    Looks to be a good bit of kit, had I known about it when I was looking it would've been something I would've considered.

    Is the silver pin in the filter able to screw out? Or is it always on the filter?
    great video!

      Hi, sorry, I made this video quite some time ago and I have since given the filter away as a competition prize. So unfortunately I can't check that for you.

    Can comment please on 1. Vignetting and 2. The cpl and skies at wide angles

    • @DGriffGallery
      @DGriffGallery  Před rokem

      Hello Barry, I usually video at about 12mm and haven't seen any issue with the CPL or any serious vignetting beyond what you'd always expect with a filter of this type 😊👍

    Im using a fujinon lens with a 58mm thread size, and plan on purchasing the heida 72mm. I can't seem to find a step-down ring for it, except a magnetic ring , so I wonder if anyone can help me here. Thx in advance.

    • @DGriffGallery
      @DGriffGallery  Před 6 měsíci

      Hi, 58mm - to 72mm is a pretty standard step range, here's a link to the sort of thing I use ... amzn.to/4bGck1D 😊👍

    How do you know which mm to buy? Will the 82mm ND filter fit my 85mm and 135mm lens?

    • @DGriffGallery
      @DGriffGallery  Před rokem +1

      Hi Juliette, it's not about the focal length of the lens rather the diameter of the thread on the front of them. 😊👍

    What about image clarity, does this filter add some colours or lose sharpness ?

    • @DGriffGallery

      It looked OK to me. Certainly on a par with the Kase Wolverines I normally use 😊👍

    Can I use this on 1.8 50mm with a step up ring lenses

    • @DGriffGallery
      @DGriffGallery  Před rokem

      Yes, it'll work on any smaller lens thread diameter with a suitable step-up ring 😊👍

  • @carlosandreviana9448
    @carlosandreviana9448 Před rokem +1

    Does it have a font thread ? What is the size of the front thread of the 82m?

    • @DGriffGallery
      @DGriffGallery  Před rokem

      Hi Carlos, yes I can confirm it has a front thread although I don't have anything to check the diameter but it does look like 82 mm on my version which has the 77 mm lens attachment thread. I guess you would be best to check with your local distributor, or order one on sale or return to try it out? 😊👍

      @@DGriffGallery Thanks. It's very hard to find this filter in Europe. I can't possibly know why. Haida has a very bad marketing

  • @rinzevnrossum
    @rinzevnrossum Před rokem

    I bought this VND filter to use on my Oly 8-25mm lens. I'm now waiting for the stepup ring diameter 82mm. What strikes me is that Haida informs you to choose the desired VND filter first and then the polarizer, where you (and some other reviewers) advise to do this the other way around. A personal experience?

    • @DGriffGallery
      @DGriffGallery  Před rokem +1

      I used it as I described - but to be honest I probablyalso used it the other way round too, as I may not have been paying close attention to the order of things all the time. Both seemed fine as the VND and CPL do seem to be independent of each other. But I could be wrong. I'll have to try it out properly next time I'm out with it. I'm sure you'll work it out once your step-up ring arrives so hopefully it will work well for you 😊👍

      @sofiabermudez478 Před rokem

      Do you have problem with it getting stuck to the lens?

    • @rinzevnrossum
      @rinzevnrossum Před rokem +1

      @@sofiabermudez478 I have chosen the size 82mm and it is usually easy to remove from the lens. However, in an emergency I use two clips to separate the ring from the lens. These plastic clamps are for sale in every photo shop for little money.
