It's always bitter sweet to listen to Elliott Smith....one of the few artists who's music I've connected with in my life.
One of the purest artists of his generation. Sorely missed
Always liked the way he sings this song live here, abit more dynamic than the studio version. His voice has a certain twang that I like here, particularly "You're all pretension, I never pay attention" and the refrain part "You broke your own" :)

One of the greatest songs ever written.
Hits so close to home
I dont think anyone there knew how lucky they were to get to see that
That lil smile at the end...xD
WIDE Elliott
I don't have heroin, crack, or alcohol problems...but I still connect to his music more than anything else I have came across.
Alex Skinner his music and sad songs in general are my heroin
Amazing! We are so lucky to have this! About as good as it gets for a live performance ...so good!
Greatest artist
my favourite song
a god amongst men
My heart still breaks thinking about that shitty fateful day.
This is great!
Oh cool this looks like the basement of the location on newbury st. Didn’t know they did in store shows once upon a time
thanks for uploading this
I spy In the Aeroplane over the Sea to the left of Elliott?
Lol
Surprised that after the academy awards he could play a little comic shop
Love
My favourite Elliott Smith song. Backing vox does ruin it though, doesn't it
good
Where does he suddenly get the pick from just before the two minute mark?
he looks a little like Bill Compton
That has to be Sam with him.
Did he invent emo first
Great guitarist and composer, but his self-abuse affected his singing, which is too bad. Guess the tragedy is, if he wasn't so screwed up inside and a genius at the same time, these songs would never have been made.
Nah, his voice is fine.
