homeowner and not a professional here. I am assuming that you are using the same paint on the metal as everywhere else. I was told that a different paint was needed for the drip edge than the rest of the trim. I believe in a round about way you covered this, but I was told that regular latex will peel.... I enjoy and learn alot from your videos.

Chris as always, thank you so much you are the best. 🔥🔥🔥maybe someone will need my life hack. I use knee pads when working on the stairs, it’s very convenient to rest your knee on the step and your knees don’t hurt after that and it’s easier to keep your balance.

I have had the Original Leaf Guard brand of gutters on my home for 23 yrs.
Very happy with the function of the gutters.
But after hand cleaning the mold and stains from the gutters, I noticed that the original colored finish (almond) has sustained sun bleach
      damage down to bare aluminum.
What type/ brand of paint should I use to restore the rain cohesive properties of the curved top portion?
      Thanks
      Tim Smith

Great video. What is the most fade-resistant paint for painting outdoor metal? I need to re-paint our trampoline frame. It is a dark hunter green. Several years ago, I painted it with Rustoleum spray paint. It faded within a few months. I read that water based paint is best. I'm planning to use a roller this time.

Many painters spray over the fascia, metal flashing and the edge of the roof shingles. I did this when I first started out and never had any complaint. It's the fastest method but it's not good practice. I didn't know any better back then.

Ever use the Picasso angled oval cut brush? Things are amazing for about a year. The Purdy pro extras are hard to beat as far as longevity. I just really like oval brushes and don’t know why they are not more popular. Never found one that lasted as long as my pro extras though.

Wondering if you can share the best type of paint to use on metal substrate? I have a hard top metal gazebo that I wanna paint white and someone is selling a barn paint that’s meant for wood and when I look at the specs on it they don’t recommend anything other than wood. When you say you’re using a house paint I’m wondering if you can share what you recommend and if it’s possible to use paint that’s recommended for exterior wood such as fences and Barnes or should I get one specified for metal substrate?

I (most of the time) Tape the roof lip and spray the soffits and fascia together so everything is done at once. Don’t have to go back and hand paint the fascia. Taping the roof lip is 100% faster even though it’s annoying. But going back and painting the fascia is also annoying…

      @thepaintceo Před rokem

@@gtdodgeviper correct that’s what I’m referring to. On each job it depends what I do. Sometimes I’ll tape a side and then otherside it’s easier to spray shield or stick cardboard under all the shingle roof lips

@@age_of_reason I use a spray shield as well. Some parts of the house I will tape and other it may be faster/easier to spray shield. Or stick cardboard under. Just depends. All those options obliterate going back with ladder movements and handpainting

It all depends on the condition of the facia when deciding which method is best to use, brush and roll or spray. If the facia is wore out looking kinda like roof sawn but not peeling I would brush and roll. If its smooth you can spray it. Or you can do both, the end result is what matters. Spraying the paint will have the paint on surface only, sometimes you have to work it in(back roll) to make it solid.

Good job. Not sure if you had that extension ladder set up correctly. It looked like you had way to much lean to it,kinda like an escalator. You should be able to put your toes on the feet/legs of the ladder and reach out your arms straight and grab a step. That will give you the proper distance on how far the feet of the ladder should be away from the wall . 👍👍

Hey man. Only noobs need ladder hooks.
Hand always holding kettle/bucket, whilst arm through a rung/window/branch is ladder painting 101. It is the most natural feel and the kettle/bucket is always close to the target as when painting 101 on the ground for efficiency.
Chris was reaching up a bit for sure but assess the feel and risk at the moment.
When ever I go up high I always assess how and where I will fall etc. Also working at heights 101.
Kris clearly felt comfortable. Probably cos he's done it a lot and nothing to do with him being a beast 💪🏻😅
Not to mention his tools.... geez Kris.
