This is my sign to start doing my nails myself!!!
Same here. I love getting pampered though 💅🏽
Getting pampered is always nice! But sometimes it also feels great to say 'I did this myself!' 💞
I say this everytime I see one of these videos .. and have yet to do so 🤦🏻♀️😂
Idk what to get first and what to start with
Hey there! To get started, we recommend getting the Nailboo Starter Dip Kit. Find & purchase one from the link below! To learn exactly how to use dip powder, check out our video “How To Do Dip Powder Nails At Home” on our educational series, DIY University by Sally Beauty, at our channel! 💗
spr.ly/6051zhXfU
Licensed Nail Tech Here: Dip powder is NOT bad for your nails. If you over-prep (too much filing) or pull them off (always dissolve with acetone) that can cause damage, but the product itself is not damaging.
HOWEVER.... ALWAYS use clean hands, and NEVER share dip powder with someone else. You can get a really gross infection that way, and even lose a finger. No joke.
YES, that DOES include the dip powder at the salon... Don't get it done at the salon, unless they scoop it out with a spoon and throw the excess out. DO NOT PUT YOUR FINGER IN A COMMUNAL TUB!
It's sad that it's 2022 and we STILL have to stress the importance of keeping nails and nail products clean and sterile to prevent infections after seeing Paula Abdul wearing a cast with her arm in a sling on a whole season of American Idol because of an infection from nails
omg i’ve seen dip nail infections before and it was terrible, i remember seeing this one lady that had to get her finger stitched back on because of gangrene 🥲
Can you use this for your natural nails or does it need to be acrylics?
@@kristinmattia3533 you can use it on natural nails or you can put a tip on the nail first and then do it. It lasts better than acrylics with longer tips than the nail because after you glue the tip on and prep the nail, the powder sticks the nail to the tip even better. I don’t think I ever had nails break when I used dip powder (SNS)
You can do this right onto your natural nail! What color would you want to try first? 💗
My nails tech makes mine thick because I'm an engineering student and have a tendency of breaking my nails easily 💀
Hahaha!

Man, my nails are always bigger than a credit card when I get them done. I wish I had someone like you near to where I live!
I only do 2 dips per nail and lightly sand before i finish with a top coat. Hope this helps 🙏

I am crazy about dip technique! I just had mine done 2 weeks ago in the most gorgeous dark flamingo pink! No more chipping polish or damage to surface polishes! The color is in entirely the whole nail application. It’s brilliant ! And so strong!
Dip powder is so incredible!! ❤️
I love how they say “wipe off excess base on the inside of the bottle” as if there is actually a confusion as to whether to use the inside or outside of the bottle for that purpose
You can always find someone thinking out of the box 😂
Well I know and saw a lot of people wiping it on the top rim of the bottle because its easier to do than inside, and then they wonder why their nail polishes are all glued shut.
@@khushbooprasad6519 thinking outside of the (bottle) also works in this case ig 🤔🤷
You know, if there is a sign there's history behind it
The instruction was not about inside or outside ... It was to WIPE the excess off..

As a licensed nail tech... Don't ever get dip at a salon, but it's definitely something that's doable at home and the upkeep is not too bad 👍👍
Just polish your freaking nails-
@@SavageMinnow why not?
@@somber59 Because they’d be using a method that you can just do yourself at home. That, and there is a possibility they won’t do it correctly and you’ll end up with messy nails.

“Brush towards the cuticle” while brushing away from the cuticle

they’re talking about the movement before. start around 3/4 of the nail instead of right at the cuticle, and slowly push the polish up to the cuticle, before dragging it down to the tip of the nail away from the cuticle. that ensures there’s no clumping, excess build up, or a hard ridge right at the cuticle line. like they showed in the video.

What’s wrong with just using nail polish
Normal nail polish chips in less than 24 hrs? Who uses Normal nailpolish anymore? I've been using shellac for the past 8 years
I used to get acrylic nails and I had them done for years and years! Once we went into the covid lockdown I quit doing my nails at the nail salon and I've not went back. Educate me, What is shellac nails?? I would love to know!
@@sharonroberts397 Shellac is a manicure process that uses oligomers to create a lasting coating on the nail that is easily applied with a brush. I have the world's most oil prone nails, and they usually last me about a week and a half (I'm a licensed tech, and I usually get about 8 hours on a regular mani). Dip powder lasts a little longer and is also an easy option to do at home. Depending on the system, you may need a UV light for either, but particularly with shellac, the systems that require a UV light will last longer.
Tip: apply sunscreen to your hands before you start your prep to avoid UV penetration into the skin of your hands during the cure process.
@@arabian_empress if you do a couple layers of whatever color, with a clear coat on top, you’ll be fine for a while. Also some people might not want shit on their nails for a long time

Do not use a nail brush!!! Tap the finger and once you get to the last finger go back with that nice soft looking make up brush a dust it off. Most times the resin is not dried and you will be wiping some dip off, it’s best to just tap the finger until you seal the dip and then you can wipe of the extra powder

Didn't knew there was this way for nail colour as well 😅😅😅living under a rock perhaps 😅
I would have rather bought the same colored nail color than that of making it way more complex
Polish will never be as hard as dip though, it also takes me less time to dip than polish as you don't need to wait for it to dry. It also doesn't chip and lasts around a month. Different products for different reasons
For anyone wondering this process takes around 30 to 40 min depends
It doesn’t make the powder less dense. It just gets rid of the clumps

I'm starting to do my nails by myself 😉☺️🤌🏻💅😘
Yes 😍! It can be satisfying. What's your favorite color to paint them?
bro i hate my nail tech, worst part it wasn’t even acrylics or anything it was straight up nail polish and it’s like a wavy line instead of covering my entire nail, layers were NOT even, i did not ask for a design and the wavy lines were at the top, my cuticles look so dark and empty, only good thing was they gave me a lotion massage. when i tell you she almost yeeted me across the table trying to get the top of my arms
On my birthday I was scrolling through shorts and saw this. My mum bought me some silver polish. I looked at and was like “I know what I’m doin!” 👏
This is so satisfying😩
This is harder than a math question
Yes, these are very helpful tips! Just to add to them, you can also use a pipette, which works pretty much like the pouring method, or you can do an Apex, which means you don’t dip all the way to the bed of your nail on every layer. So that way your nail beds don’t look so clumpy and thick. And yes, brush off after each dip! (Let it dry of course first) 💕 💅🏼
Ooo nice color
Beautiful
Have you tried dip powder? 💗
My mom was getting tired of paying like 200 dollars for nails she liked.
So she started doing nails herself and became a professional, just cause she was bored during quarantine and didn’t wanna pay 😭.
Although she has a really bad allergy so when she does nails she gets very sick
This is my sign to start learning math
this is so satisfaying
Omg tysm this Helps so much!!
What's the difference between this and just buying nail polish that is the same color?
Genuinely asking.
Literally none. Just that this powder with base is more expensive and is in trend
Hey there! Regular nail polish easily chips away, and gel polish needs to be cured in UV light. With dip powder, you get highly pigmented colors that dry quick and without a UV light, are chip resistant, and last longer! Plus, it only takes a few minutes to get a professional salon look 💞
