- This is just how it goes - you try a nail art look you see online and it doesn't go well. XD I think I could have done a better job with these aura nails if I'd picked a different color from the eyeshadow palette
or maybe chosen a different base color. They just didn't turn out the way I had them in my head but y'all still asked me to share and I at least tried to make it somewhat entertaining for y'all:) So pls enjoy my eyeshadow nail fail and stay tuned for part 2, I think adding some lavender and maybe stars would help make these a WHOLE lot better lol.

I find that when I put eyeshadow on my nails, it sticks better to a matte surface. After I apply the eyeshadow i add a glossy topcoat and it looks great. Hope this helps! ❤

@@thegraytergood I actually have the same pallette, and I will say the pigment is difficult to apply without rubbing or applying pressure, so it could be that too

Matte top coat also works well to fix dents in polish! Layer of matte then layer of whatever color you were trying to fix and it fills the gouged out space really well without having to start over again
They look amazing! The thing is that 90% of those aura nails are made on the sticky layer of hybrid gel/gel mani, that's why they look different ❤

It works better with gel because you can apply the pigment into the sticky residue, it’s a lot trickier with regular nail polish like you used but the result is really pretty I like it !
It still turned out hella good!!! Try putting a matte coat on top of the nude base, and then try the eyeshadow! ❤

@@thegraytergoodI’ve also seen a bunch of these where people put a circle of one color of polish and the background color in a ring around it onto a sponge and dabbed it onto the nail and it looked pretty simple.
With the eyeshadow I recommend gel bc it works best for me 😊
It definitely works better on gel because of the sticky layer and the fast that you can really seal in the pigment compared to a regular polish

@@icecrab6852 I think they were saying gel polish (to make the eyeshadow stick), eyeshadow, and gel on top of that (to seal the eyeshadow better). The base is just preference imo, and if you want to add another top coat on top of the gel (like a holo top coat or something) it can be regular polish. Gel is for adhesion and sealing.
That was really complicated, so: basically, sandwich your eyeshadow between coats of gel, the rest doesn't matter. At least that's what I think the person above you meant

A tip is I’ve seen most people use a matte coat then put the eyeshadow and if you want it glossy just add a top coat. I’m not a professional but it’s worth a try 🤭💅

@@coconagenius I grow them out by having them always painted and moisturising my cuticles with almond oil or even just hand cream. Also, I never use nail hardener because I found that when my nails stay flexible they break less than when they are hard. I also file them a bit almost every day to keep their shape. I struggle not to bite them if they’re uneven. They reach the length I prefer in 2 months but normally last me 2 months more or so (at full length) before they break. When one breaks I normally can extend their “life” for a week because they normally break through the side and not in a painful way. Good luck

@@doeeyes2 my nail tech, puts on a pink beige that’s exact shade to the pink or my nails, without letting it cure, she drips a drop of dark pink in the center and blend it with a brush.
I think they are cute! But maybe if you do it again you could do a colorful base and a darker version of that color, it might be less intense.
For sure, I think the pink base was a little too nude and then the color was too red. Just a bad combo overall 😅

Thanks for a more detailed explanation of how to do this. I been wondering if I needed gel & a lamp or what type of polish is used as a base lol. I have regular polish only, glad I can try this. I have the same/very similar eyeshadow palette ❤ loving all your nail looks from Canada 🇨🇦❤🤍❤
You could try it by adding a drop of isopropyl alcohol to a bit of eheshadow powder and then dab the color that bleeds out onto nails with a q-tip. Regular nail polish color will need something thinner than eyeshadow particles which can make it bumpy.

I think it turned out really good! Also I think most people using eyeshadow are using it on top of gel since it’s a little stickier usually than normal nail polish

Using a gel base coat (the ones that like are kinda sticky after you cure it) holds the color really good and then you can put a top coat on top :)

I'm glad you included the blooper. It warns us of the pitfall and how to fix it and come back from it too.
We can also see that if we try this that an applicator will be a better tool than the brushes to push the pigments into the polish.

u have to do that with Hybrid nail polish cause that left a sticky surfaces on the nail to stick various things, and then you wash it with a cleaner

i’m trying to grow my nails and idk if this makes sense but they don’t look as nice as yours bc the pinkish part of my nail is quite short and the white part is longer which makes my nails look uneven and weird 😭

Your nails don’t have to look like mine, everyone is different and has different nail plate (the pink part) lengths :) 💕💅🏻 if it helps, the white part on all my nails, and all the same length either but I try to file and shape them similarly which helps disguise it

It’s so pretty-that eyeshadow doesn’t have much pigment, maybe try using a very pigmented shadow with a regular blush! Hope this helps ❤❤❤

I did the eye shadow one to! I did a Korean tipe nail ones and they looked really good! Don’t add the base coat before the eye shadow!! Put the color eye shadow you want and apply. Then add the base coat!!! Trust me!! It’s looks really good!!!! then after the base coat add a little bit of the eye shadow. Than top coat.

I file the area a bit very lightly before i apply eyeshadow there. Or put a very thin layer of hybrid gel to cure only like ten seconds so its sticky a bit. Depends what type of gel youre using. If its regular polish i file. Polygel, etc i quick cure and add whatever glitter, etc on before the top layer
It looks good, personally this works best for me when I use my fingers to apply the eyeshadow

I'm pretty sure these are called "blush nails" in Korea and they were a big trend at one point. I've been looking at this kind of nails and I think you pulled it off masterfully.

Gel basecoat is sticky after you cure it and thats what i use to do my Korean blush nails. Its works very well.
as a nail tech this is one of my favorite things to do!! instead of keeping them plain add a bit of glitter and they look much better. i also recommend to do a bluish purple color!!! 💘

I noticed that it sticks better on gel ! When it's not completely dry like just a little bit sticky the color really pops and you can just put a bit of top coat and dry it and boom flashy

I rarely use gel polish and never had acrylic so i do any type of gradient with a cheap makeup sponge. For this design i would first paint my nails in the base color, let it dry, apply the base color to the sponge and a dot of different color in the middle.
The only downside is having to clean up the nail polish off of the skin around the nail if you dont have a peel off product for a easy clean up
Try a shimmer shadow and a sponge eye applicator it can give a chrome look❤
