Nice restoration DJ. It looks great and they definitely have a place in the shop. I have my late fathers Craftsman 3/4 drive ratchet that he used to work on the farm equipment with. The only farm equipment i have is a 1939 Ford 9N butbi ise dads old ratchet to remove axle nuts and does a wonderful job. I was missing 5 of his sockets and couldn't find them at his house but i was looking online and discovered that NAPA auto is discontinuing their Evercraft line of tools and have them heavily discounted. I found the five 3/4 drive sockets and they cost me between $5-$8 each. I've since been back to NAPA and purchased a set of 12 screwdrivers, a 3/8 drive impact screwdriver, a 3/4" drive breaker bar and 2 sets of metric and SAE 3/8 drive crows feet. I don't know if you have a NAPA in your area but it's definitely worth checking out or you can check them out online.
Go to Amazon and look-up Red Label Abrasives, it is a 3 pack, fine, medium, and coarse, the coarse sometimes is to tight for my machine, last one I heated it up and stretched a little to make it work, some machines no problem, it is just the coarse belt!
I do use the wire wheel on this one, and I do have a large and small parts cleaner but I do not like using them, the chemical I have in them is more caustic than carb cleaner, at least it is on my skin, and yes I know I can wear gloves but the carb cleaner does not affect me but the parts cleaner does, and I can not find anything locally that works any better

Very nice clean-up, that's a great looking ratchet for a no-name. Thanks DJ

Good clean up! That thing will last longer than you and me! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks and thanks for watching!
This is my kind of video. Every man who has tools needs to know how to do this type of maintenance on them.
I have to take care of my tools because I make a living with them, and save me money too!
My dad said anything free is worth saving up for ,good job and please don't change

Do you have access to a bench grinder with a wire wheel, and a pan with parts cleaner for jobs like this?
I do use the wire wheel on this one, and I do have a large and small parts cleaner but I do not like using them, the chemical I have in them is more caustic than carb cleaner, at least it is on my skin, and yes I know I can wear gloves but the carb cleaner does not affect me but the parts cleaner does, and I can not find anything locally that works any better
