Sorry for your loss and prayers to you . Angelina's music gives us another avenue to feel and express what we need to do in order to grieve and heal. Her music has gotten me through a number of events and no other singer can do what she does for me and many of us. God Bless.
I also have played her songs before and after the loss of my husband from cancer and her singing just so emotional and I listen to her and it’s healing and I feel better and I usually have a good cry and I don’t know how she gets to your soul like no other can

Amazing reaction! Did you notice she had to keep looking for the words, she didn't know the lyrics? In an interview, the guitarist, Ivan Mendez said, "We don't know what song were going to do. She thumbs through her Tablet and picks a song. Neither one of ud know the song, she says take 5 minutes to familiarize and then 2 minutes later she says, just follow my lead". It's usually done in one take unless Ivan gets lost in her singing and messes up, was another thing he mentioned. He know when he was sitting there playing music for her as soon as she started he had mentioned he was first overwhelmed because he is next to Greatness! She is a Musical Genius, like a computer to perform like this on a whim, God Bless!
I'm a 62 year old music lover who has listened to all the greats 1940s to now. Angelina is the only one that can make me cry when she sings. And it happens way more often than I care to admit. Her tone, her vibrato, her storytelling ability are all second to none. I just love her, my favourite singer of all time.
Me, too. I'm 60 and I've known about her 2 yrs now. She can soothe my soul, ease my anxiety, or pull--HARD--at my heartstrings. I'm sure her pure goodness and love for humanity has much to do with this ability of hers. She truly is the best.

Angelina is unlike any singer I have ever heard. She is like the Siren from Greek mythology. As soon as she starts to sing, you are hypnotized and under her spell, oblivious to all else. And then she releases you. But instead of being dashed onto the rocks like in the story, Angelina releases you into the calm sea of tranquility.

Jay, as I understand it now, the videos we see of young Angelina (6 to 13) are original recorded as control instruments for her practice/eexercizes in singing. So she learned where she had gone wrong.
Mery Zamany, her maternal Grandma, released them over the last years. It might very well be, that one day Mery, or Sara, AJ´s mother will relese them for other use.
But until June, this year 2022, Angelina was not a pro and must be protected at all costs by her family.
AJ is also still a minor and her family follows the law. We always forget, that to the law, she still is a kid and has to be protected by her family.

I have watched her since she was eight and each year you don't think she can possibly be better and yet she keeps getting better. She is incredible when she sings jazz, simply no one can do what she does. Yet these ballads she sings show such a depth of emotion that she pulls you in. I think she will continue to grow until she finally becomes a household name. such talent is beautiful.
I tried to introduce a buddy of mine to Angelina... Planed to get him to hear something from Norway's Got Talent and of course I PUT A SPELL ON YOU and this Adel cover to start him off. But after hearing this song he wouldn't hear anything else. After like the 6th or 7th time... I just gave up.

Here, she takes on an Adele classic and performs it casually at home with
no prior preparation. It still will penetrate the listener far deeper than Adele's
great version. This is simply because Adele is a non-jazz singer and there is no
way a true jazz specialist like Angelina can be topped by any non-jazz singer
when performing a heartfelt ballad like this.
I don't know ridge. I suppose I can say you can generally feel the average Jazz singer, more than the average anything else singer. But AJ is one of a kind, I feel probably well over half of what I've seen from her. I feel other artists sometimes, plenty of them not Jazz singers. I think there is merit to what you say for sure, but to a degree. Some of it is something else in her as well. Has to be. There is an over arching storytelling ability that maybe lends itself to jazz, but is entirely separate, and she truly has that ability. She feels it, so so do we. That's the simplest way I can describe storytelling.
He mentioned that you just fall more in love with her the more you see. I think a lot of it is versatility, takes a while to soak in the gigantic skill set she has. I think a lot of it is storytelling, that's always important in arts of any kind. There is just a gigantic journey that is so beautiful to be on, easy to cheer for her. I think a ton of it is control, to have that much control over the large amount she can do, so consistently is crazy. Her beautiful tone is huge for her. Some of it, the massive skill set is Jazz, and she brings a bit of it into her not so Jazzy stuff as well. But I think while you weren't wrong as a general rule to a degree, while Jazz lends itself to what you spoke of, all of what you are saying should be attributed to AJ, not Jazz. Adele makes people feel just fine, there have been many Jazz singers in music history.
The most important thing for feeling what an artist is doing, is indeed falling in love with them. Then they truly have your attention. AJ has a load of weapons for that, Jazz is only one of them.

be the singer she is. Her ability to bring into heartfelt ballads the 'breathy;
'whisper-like' inflections that Billie revolutionized the jazz genre with, is the
main component when she wants to bring forth deep feelings to the song.
Take a song like 'Stay'. Whereas Rhianna's original is a polished, professionally
designed presentation, Angelina out performs it in a home made video where
not even Ivan knew was going to be their song that day until he arrived at her
home. Nothing fancy by Angelina, but the essence of Billie Holiday is quite
evident in her presentation. People need to listen to Andreas Grussl's expert
vocal analysis of both Adele and Angelina singing 'Easy On Me' in his video, 'Is
This Better Than Adele?'. He clearly shows the listener how Angelina's version is
superior with regard to penetration into the human soul. Vocally, there are sections
where Angelina's 'vocal chameleon' ability to emulate Adele's voice is evident, but
then when you hear her using Billie's 'breathy', 'whisper-like' responses and add in
the unique 'slurring' effect that Amy Winehouse was known for, you have one song
that is totally non-jazz Adele and the other a conglomeration that contains the
intricate complexity of three jazz artists and one great non-jazz artist in the song. In
the power portion of the song, Angelina actually 'out belts' Adele, which is beyond
amazing. Angelina has compartmentalized a vast inventory of different genre artists in her memory that she can bring forth whenever she desires, but at the heart of it all is her jazz inspired roots that never 'moved' me emotionally by any
singer other than Billie Holiday. Both her and Angelina can just transport me to a
serene place in my mind like no other singers I have ever experienced.
@@ridgemanron I can't disagree with any of that. But I think they are both artists first and foremost, Billie and her. It takes a special person to take breathy tones, ups and down, runs, and use them so much and still have it come out as art. While you see that in Jazz a lot, I think it is more about those two individuals. The only other one who can do that is Mariah Carey but maybe I've never enjoyed the higher keys near as much with those. Maybe using the lower keys is the secret with those, once you have someone with the artistic ability to make those techniques and choices into art. Because for sure, Billie hits me too, no where near the voice tone, vocal versatility or power of an AJ. But all the same, a breath of fresh air, unique real art is how I take her stuff.
I'm just saying I think jazz lends itself to those skills, to hitting our feels, but it's still the artist that has to figure out how to use the hardest skills to use well artistically. Jazz is tough. It's usually a hot mess.
And from what I have seen, Jazz doesn't teach everyone all that well, only the artistically gifted. Many Jazz artists no one has ever heard of, a lot of it is hard to listen to. Too complex to be done mediocrely, boring despite its complexity when done mediocrely, off putting even.
So I don't know, I am not trying to imply you think Jazz made AJ, but it was worded in a way I wanted to talk about it. In a sense you are correct, Jazz helped a lot, but it needs artists like AJ, without her Jazz is in the trash bin. A symbiotic relationship of sorts that few can tap into. IMO at least.

is so amazing in the gospel song she did 'How Great Thou Art'. Have never heard
another female, much less a child, who could do something like that. Like you, I've
never been drawn to the insane high register notes that Mariah is known for, but
another diva who is close to that level is Christina Aguilera and I was astounded
when I heard Angelina match her in selected portions of the song 'Hurt' at six years
of age. What Angelina displays in difficult songs like Whitney's 'I Have Nothing' and
the classic James Brown song 'It's a Man's World' are both in the high register levels
that my ears are more in tune to than Mariah's colossal level of hitting stratospheric
notes. We have to also keep in mind that experts say Angelina has not reached her
apex in musicality and won't until she becomes an adult which is mind boggling when you realize where she is at while still being a young girl. It could be said that
Billie first, and then Amy, have redefined the jazz genre. To me, Angelina has redefined the intricacies of the genre once again, using elements of both these iconic jazz specialists that are especially incorporated by her in heartfelt ballad
singing. When a singer can send tingles through me, like Angelina can, I find it
almost medicinal with regard to the effect it brings to me.
Vibe, I ask anyone to name another twelve year old female vocalist that can do all that Angelina does.
Let us keep in mind this is an 11 or 12 yr-old girl singing with this passion and emotion. Astounding.

It is really not the music industry that is to "blame" for AJ still being largely unheard (she is of course a superstar in Norway) and having a semi-amateur status. This was the choice of her family when she won NGT and the entire world was knocking on their door to sign her. Her family wanted AJ to develop (and she did) while growing up with as normal a childhood as she could have (and she did). Except for her youtube channel (a chest of gold), she would usually just come on stage for charity.
Personally, I think we should all thank them. We now have a blossoming and harmonic 16-year-old with a lifetime in front of her instead of a burnt-out child star.
Oh - she has stated that she is hard at work on her first solo album. She is about to get all the attention 👍
