Ivan said in an interview he really had difficulty playing for her because the beauty of her singing was so distracting, he couldn't believe he was so close to someone that good. You can see it in his face in several of their recordings. Take care, hope to see you well next week.

Angelina and Ivan Mendez did a number of recordings. He would come to her and her family. They'd hang out during the day. In the event they'd settle on a song quickly went through it and than recorded it. Ivan said it was usually one raw recording unless he messed up :-) So this is mostly unrehearsed, raw and a one take recording. You can see Angelina glance to her left where probably the lyrics are
The result is this amazing performance with so much heart and sou it pierces the soul :-)

Hi Gin Gin, nice to meet you, how are you doing? This is one of my favorite recordings by Angelina and actually the one that had me angelized nearly two years ago, in January of '21. I had got to know her in late December of 2020 and was blown away by some performances by her, my first one was "I Put A Spell On You", then "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Feeling Good", "Yellow Brick Road" and maybe one or two others, I don't remember exactly... then there was a short intermission, the holidays, seeing my family over christmas, new year's celebration...not long after when I was back from Munich, one evening after a day out in the garden I was about to start a fire my fireplace, outside it was snowing heavily, I intended to just relax in front of a cozy fire, sip on a glass of a nice red wine and listen to some beautiful music... whom was I going to listen to? I remembered that little girl from Norway, Angelina, good idea, I would discover some more by her... I didn't know "A Million Years Ago" by Adele, but the title sounded interesting to me, so I clicked on that one... I was not watching as I was busy with my fire, I had her on my sound system, so it was just her voice in the dark room, the fire, the snow outside, and she had just sung the first few words when everything started to melt down, my eyes filled with tears overflowing within seconds, I merely had time to realize what happened when suddenly I felt a terrible pain in my chest, it felt like Angelina, with her voice, was literally tearing my heart out. I had fallen on the floor before the fire and cried like a little baby lost all alone, when the song was over I put it on repeat, painful as it was I could not help it, and after six or seven rounds I was slowly able to calm down and experienced a very strange thing, because it felt like if Angelina, when tearing out my heart had not taken it to destroy it, but to repair it, by her singing she carefully cut away old, worn out pieces of my heart that were no longer of any good use, replacing them with new ones which would be better suited for the future, mending all the pieces and bits together in a new, more harmonic order and then carefully putting it back to the place where it belonged and was needed. After round 12 I felt completely reborn, the whole thing was rather a spiritual than a musical experience and I have not been the same ever after, I felt a deep relief and thankfulness for the gift of Angelina's voice, and that has been the day I started to listen to her on a regular basis...
And it was this song, which since that day is precious to my heart, and it was a wonderful reaction by our host, she obviously got it, so thanks for that, filled my heart with joy, this was a pleasure to watch! have a great day y'all and enjoy it thoroughly!

Whenever she covers a heartfelt ballad by Adele, the emotional penetration she delivers
far exceeds what Adele is able to convey. Basically, it comes down to the fact that, as great
as Adele is, she is a non-jazz singer and with Angelina being rooted in that genre it gives her
an unattainable advantage over Adele on songs like this. I won't even dwell on the fact that
Adele's rendition was done in a professional studio with all the musical accompaniments she
decides to use. Here, Angelina is at home in a jam session with her friend Ivan on guitar.
Neither of them were able to even practice the song so Ivan just followed Angelina's lead as
best as he could, and even though Angelina had to read the lyrics from a tablet at her side, she
automatically revises the song to better fit the mood it is supposed to convey. The girl gave me
'chills', especially when she remarks about the mother lyric in the song. With regard to different
genres of music, there has never been an individual singer as versatile as her.

What people often forget is that her first Language is Norwegian, and yet her diction in this song is absolutely perfect! As is her singing.
For me her awesomeness is never sacrificing the meaning and power of a song for personal glamor or glory.

This performance is one that always gets me. When she sings that line, "I miss my mother" it's just so heartfelt ... even though her mother is probably very nearby. She gets me all misty-eyed by the end of it and then she does that chipper smile, wave, "bye."

When I discovered Angelina this spring, immediately I recognized something extraordinary about her singing.
She makes me consider whether Homer’s writing about the mythical Sirens that Ulysses encountered in the Odyssey might be based on some long-lost legends of an ancient technique or art of singing that Angelina has rediscovered. I am finding her vocal tone and talent to be at the level of mythical. She has something extremely unique.

The biggest difference is that where the Sirens lured sailors to be dashed to pieces on the rocky shores, instead Angelina wraps you in a warm blanket and calms and soothes your soul.
When it comes to singing there's no difference between Angelina and the Sirens in intensity, yet there's quite a significant difference in intention...

Even though I had been a huge Angelina fan, this is the one that threw me over the edge. I thought that 12 year old Angelina was, simply, the best singer I’d ever heard. And several years later, I’m absolutely positive of that. Acoustic Angelina is just devastating because you hear the unique beauty of her voice so clearly, as well as the nuances of her expression. I’ve listened to this song hundreds of times, and I still react physically every time I hear it.
Her impromptu sessions with Ivan on guitar are absolute magic. I find it funny how a lot of reactors have said the same thing about Ivan, they just wouldn't be able to concentrate enough to play an instrument next to MJ.

I don’t typically take multivitamins, but whenever I feel a scratchy throat or any signs of an illness coming on, I take a couple multivitamin, and it often goes away. I assume that I’m getting sick because my immune system is missing something needed to get the job done, and it seems the multivitamin replenishes the resources needed before the illness takes hold.

Watching and listening to you, I couldn’t help but think of young Angelina when she had a fever and was ill with the “chickenpox”. She said that would not stop her from doing what she loves and that is music and singing.

Hello again, Adrianna, and thank you very much for another great reaction to Angelina🙂 I'm happy to hear that you're feeling better from that cold or flu you have. Tis the season for that shite now I guess😉 I heard you described her as hypnotic. You have no clue just HOW many reactors have used the same term. It's something we all feel to a certain degree. It's as if time doesn't exist when she sings. 3 minutes later she's finished and you go "WHAT????" Angelina was 12 years old in this one, and like with almost all the other performances she did with Ivan here or Egil back home in Norway, she's not totally familiar with the lyrics. They were never planned ahead and improvised on the spot. You can see her turn her head to the left all the time to read the lyrics off of her Ipad or laptop. You can see the left side of her face illuminated by the glow from the screen. Imagine singing with this level of emotion and conviction, all the while reading the lyrics. And the technicality with which she sings is ALWAYS on point, just like it's 2nd nature to her. And I guess it IS. We have no other choice but to bow down to this force of nature.

Unreal isn't she! There's no one like her and it's definitely no one with her skill set. Since she was 9 years old I challenge anyone to find another person on this planet with the range of skills that this young girl has. You'll find some that have some of the skills that are more developed because they're much older but no one with the range of skills and diversity that she has. Now it's 16 years old she's unmatched and that statement is a matter fact only stated only stated to point out how insane it is that someone this young can be so complete in the world of music. It's difficult to grasp but it is here right in front of us.

Angelina would call Ivan to come over and do some videos and Ivan would say "Angelina I don't know half those songs" and Angelina would say " don't worry about that" and Ivan said he would learn the song and they would only do 1 or 2 takes and post it on CZcams and yes Ivan said he would get lost in her voice.

ANGELINA has been influenced/ inspired by jazz from a very early age , but she is far removed from just 1 genre she is able to perform most genre with distinction we should not pigeon hole her , I suspect her album will be a mixture of genre just as her you tube back catalogue is .
