    Why is Pete Arredondo still on payroll? Why is JJ Suarez not at this meeting? And a little league game is not an excuse. Why is there no security for students outside the school after summer school functions like band practice? Why is the dude telling us who the email was sent to instead of doing something about the email? It's failure after failure! The leaders in Uvalde need to look up the word, "proactive." The police need to look up the words "bravery" and "gym."

    they deserve everything these people say to them. the bottom line is "the children were still murdered and they are dead". they cant change that. the only way to fix this town is fire the sheriff, fire the chief of police, fire the police in the town and start over. how could you make the kids go back to school in the same school that everyone died in. pathetic..

    POLICE have NO LAWFUL DUTY to PROTECT "CHILDREN" or People:
    The U.S. Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled again in (Castlerock vs Gonzales) Police Serve and Protect the corporate states, NOT the people of the states!
    This Supreme Court ruling specifically says Police have NO LAWFUL DUTY to protect CHILDREN or PEOPLE! (Please read the tragic case!)
    Qualified Immunity must be abolished from police officers for accountability.
    - Michael B. Saari for State Senate 2022

    • @berkbuns
      @berkbuns Před 2 lety +4

      The SC made the same ruling in *_DeShaney vs. Winnebago 1989_*. Police agencies are not obligated to provide protection of citizens. In other words, police are well within their rights to pick and choose when to intervene to protect the lives and property of others - even when a threat is apparent. We must stop saying LEOs “protect and serve”, it is an extremely antiquated and dangerous idea to believe in. The only way to fix this is to legislate new laws/Bills in Congress.

    • @deborahnooneleftbehind9651
      @deborahnooneleftbehind9651 Před 2 lety

      Exactly and that needs to be changed! Citizens are still under the belief that law enforcement comes to protect. But if these officers had done their jobs by stopping an active shooter that had broken the laws that they had sworn to uphold , there would of been many children saved. Cowards is all they were and blame shifters.

    Thank you, Mr. Garcia !!!! Well said. "Students are coming back to the schools to commit violence."
    Be your child's advocate. Don't tolerate any bullying and if they are going through something, do everything you can to prevent a tragedy like this. No excuses.
    Schools were built to allow teachers and children to learn and thrive. From TEA testing, the academic and emotional effects of covid, inflation, and teacher pay, teachers continue to be undervalued, as shown by the added demands and extra unpaid duties. Teachers joined the profession knowing the income wasn't high, but they became teachers because they wanted to work with children. With our economics and a growing need for safety, teachers are still not respected. Teachers are expected to put their students first when they have children of their own. The majority of teachers would protect their students as their own. I am one of them. A lot needs to change. Schools cannot continue to operate the way they used to. Systematic change starts with our leaders in the White House.
    As a teacher, I have always told my students that we come to school to feel safe, learn, and most importantly, have fun. This will continue to be my class motto.
    People say well, get another job, if you don't like it. Easier said than done because I can't leave something I love to do. The majority of teachers leaving are those that have been teaching for three years or less or those close to retirement. As for me, I can't go just yet. There is too much work to be done. I will continue to advocate for the children, focus on their emotional well-being and build their confidence for as long as possible. If a child doesn't feel safe, learning won't happen. Every struggle is an opportunity, and we all need each other now more than ever. . As adults, we need to act like adults by being there for each other. Listen to understand. Otherwise, our students and children will suffer-prayers to everyone and all the stakeholders. Please protect our children, my children, and our teachers. Pay them what they deserve. My hearts and prayers are with the families and their loved ones. Again, this starts with the leaders in the White House.

    Homie in the red polo is a classic seat-filler. Seen ‘em at every job I’ve had. This personality type is becoming more prevalent in the US. I honestly don’t know why. But they’re banking on a society where responsibility can always be displaced.
    If civil war comes to this country it will undoubtedly be brutal. And I believe it will pop off in places like this.
