  • Too many Christians struggle with the authenticity of their faith. They live each day waiting for the sucker punch from God, “I never knew you!” The enemy has taken the hope of our standing before God and has caused confusion. Our view of the atonement can directly affect how we understand our relationship with God. In this episode, Jon explains why we must have a biblical view of the atonement if we are to find confidence in our relationship with God.

    “You can’t advance the good news of the Gospel if you don’t even know you have it.”
    Soooo true. The cycle of lies. I sin. Condemnation and accusation sets in. I hide from God because I’m afraid. Before I muster the strength to believe and confess, I hear a sermon about how I’m a fake Christian. I’m rattled. I sin again. Deeper I go. I go to church but all I hear about is how all my brothers and sisters are living near sinless lives and are serving beyond human capacity. What am I doing? Not any of that. I sin again and again, and go deeper and deeper. I start looking in, not out. I stop pursuing or desiring to share the good news because I can’t believe it myself and beyond that, I’m a hypocrite, fake, and ashamed. I go back to church to fill my backpack with more bricks. Luckily there’s a song with a loud and rhythmic drum beat at the end of the service to pep me up until I go outside in to the cold world and hide.
    This was my experience until I began hearing grace. The result? Sanctification and love for God and my neighbor for reals. The desire to share the Gospel because grace entered my heart again. I look now for opportunities to share. Joy fills my heart again.
    Grace did not make desire to sin. It did the opposite.

      And this, my brother and friend, is why Paul says the law is the power of sin. Because the condemnation from it will destroy you and lead you into deeper sin. The accuser of the brethren uses THE LAW to accuse. And unfortunately, many Christian’s today are very busy aiding the accuser in his work, without even knowing it.
      Amen bro.

    Excellent! Gordon Clark said: Some people think it's- - The Gospel BUT- - as if our sanctification must be added. Others think it's- - The Gospel AND - - as if sanctification is completely disjointed. But the true teaching is The Gospel THEREFORE sanctification. Because we are unconditionally love, therefore we act in reliance on that truth.

    Love you brother, but I disagree with the PSA theory. A theory is not doctrine, but a theory. I don't believe in PSA and yet my hope, faith and trust is wholly on Jesus Christ. I also don't agree with the ransom theory either. I will say this thzt after doing extensive studies on many of the different atonement theories that I have discovered that they are theories and not to be taught as doctrine.

    As far as Narnia goes, Aslan actually says to the Witch(about Edmund) that “His offense was not against you.” Lewis was showing us that Edmund broke the law of the Great Emperor (Aslan’s father). So Aslan is, in fact, not paying the white witch. Rather, he is appeasing the law of the Emperor laid at the dawn of time.

    My friend i admire you for having a channel on CZcams, to clarify, lordship salvation, which is not true, and I agree with you tremendously thank you., I also believe that people who believe in lordship salvation are not Christians . I’d like you to know my opinion of how, and why lotta words in Greek and Latin was translated as being hell when it wasn’t meant to be, yes, I do believe the translations in the Bible are incorrect when it comes to the word, hell or eternity they’re much more smarter people today that translate the Bible differently than Constantine wanted the world to believe.. my friend I will call you pastor. If you think you’re a pastor then I will not disrespect you what you’re missing biggest thing that Paul said in the Bible you’re missing it you’re on the right track. On lord ship salvation being not a Christian, but you’re missing the most important thing that Paul said to rightly divide the word of truth, the word of truth is the gospel and you need to rightly divide it Peter says you need to repent of your sins. You need to be baptized for salvation so you need to do something in the book of Peter, James says faith without works is dead , that simply means a work salvation , you can’t take that scripture and explain it in any of other way my friend . It is plain and clear, who is James talking to in James chapter 1 verse one if you read his audience, he was talking to the 12 tribes of Israel. He was not talking to Gentiles if you read Jesus words to his apostles, do not go into the Gentiles but only to the house of Israel, Jesus was teaching of the covenant that God made with Israel the law he did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it all the apostles were teaching the law. there’s one thing you need to know Pastor we are not under the law no more , because our apostle Paul, who says he is the apostle to the gentiles the 12 did not say that only Paul, our apostle you need to rightly divide the word of truth and the teachings of the prophets and the apostles and Jesus, ministry on earth was not for us, gentiles. actually we know who Paul’s talking to Paul’s talking to me a gentile you need to look up Steve Atwood, his CZcams station forgiveness, and learn how to rightly divide the word of truth , but you do not believe in rightly dividing the word of truth , thats what you are missing tremendously Robert breaker will help you if your not so proud of a person , he’s another person rightly dividing the word of truth. It’s in the Bible , yes it’s scripture, and if you don’t rightly divide the word of truth, you will have contradictions between the apostles and Paul’s ministry between Jesus ministry and Paul’s ministry because Jesus came for the Jews only I’m not saying that , the Bible saids so. Steve Atwood he is older now but when he was younger he had a great ministry Robert breaker as another one and there’s many more lot more . Remember and it’s true the Bible is not 100% translated correctly , the transcripts and writings of God’s word are true. The translations are not all true . God bless you I hope your station is successful and you are on the right track and telling these lordship salvation Is that they are wrong. God bless you sir and you have a great night. Great day. Love you brother.

    Sorry but there are far too many "christians" that live morally bankrupt lives ( i.e. drinking alcohol, divorce and remarried, foul language, etc.). Decades of the "Once saved, always saved" has produced this.
    Sanctification from enslavement to a lifestyle to sin doesn't require years and years of struggle. You either love God enough to live in obedience or you don't.
    I will happily wear the label of legalist while advocating for obedience and holy living vs teaching a cheap grace that perpetuates the problem of sin in the church.

    This channel lacks balance …

    • @medic4christ777
      @medic4christ777 Před 10 měsíci +5

      There is no balance between law and grace. It’s either one or the other. Romans 11. There is only one kind of grace. And it’s free. If it ain’t free, it’s not grace at all. You don’t like the theology of “free grace”, but what other kind of grace is there? Expensive grace? If it costs you something it’s not free. And if it’s not free, it’s not unmerited. If it’s not unmerited it’s not even grace. If righteousness comes by the law, then Christ died in vain. To me, it sounds like you don’t need to hear balance. YOU need to hear the gospel and come to understand it.
      What you are expecting is a Galatianized message. A message that mixes self righteousness into the gospel. A message that mixes self and our own effort into the gospel. A message that adds LAW to the gospel. That’s what you mean by BALANCE. So let me be as clear as I can. The law is a ministry of death. All who place themselves under it, place themselves under a curse. That is what the Bible says. It is either by works, or it is by grace. Let that sink in. There is no balance in the gospel. It’s all Christ.

      @@medic4christ777there is a proper response to the gospel and God commands all of mankind to repent and believe. When you lack balance and only speak on the grace of God, his love and how merciful he is then you likely create a lot of false converts. Problem is you sound like you’re an advocate for believing that there doesn’t have to be a change in one’s mind leading to repentance and forsaking of one’s sinful behavior. So one could live the life of antinomianism and still be saved. I’m not expecting my works to be mixed in with the gospel for Jesus works are enough. But let’s not act like repentance and good works aren’t essential elements of the life of a believer, and those who do not repent will perish

    • @medic4christ777
      @medic4christ777 Před 10 měsíci

      @@Muzicboy3 Here is your problem. You don’t understand what the word REPENT means, nor do you seem to understand the audience Jesus was speaking to. Do you understand that Jesus came primarily to the Jews? His death was for the world, but His earthly ministry was to the “Lost sheep of the house of Israel”.
      Jesus came to a deeply religious people. These were men who were ZEALOUS for the law of God. They considered themselves children of Abraham. They searched the scriptures day and night, thinking that in them they would find eternal life. But they could not see that all of the scriptures pointed NOT to the law, but to Christ. It was NOT Moses who gave to them the bread from heaven. It was and always has been Christ.
      HE is the way. HE is the narrow gate. THIS, my friend, is what needed to be repented of. They needed to REPENT and believe. This is one action. Not two. Repent is a change of mind. It has nothing to do with “repenting of all your sins”. Nobody has done this. Not you, or anyone else. It has to do with turning from trusting in SELF, and trusting in HIM. Repent and believe. Your entire theology is based on YOU and what YOU can do. In your mind it’s a dual effort. You and God both at work. But that is not what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches that He and He alone is the author and finisher. You may give lip service to that idea, but it seems to me that you don’t really believe that. This whole concept that I am explaining to you is the reason why Jesus was able to tell the woman who was washing his feet (an adulteress and prostitute) that her FAITH has saved her. That she can go in peace. She had done nothing. She had many years left to live. But He sent her away forgiven. Because it’s not a co-effort as you would suggest. It’s all Him and always has been.
      This offends you the same way it offended the Jews. Grace always offends the self righteous. You want to be able to sneak in your own effort on the day of judgement and have some part of your salvation credited to you. It drives you nuts that it’s free. That very concept offends you.
      Doesn’t the world see how hard you are working? How much you are suffering? How hard you are fighting? How religious you are? These heathens think they can get in for free???? You need to understand the gospel. It is grace that teaches men to deny ungodliness. Grace and grace alone. The law is the strength of sin. There is no balance.
