In this video I'll explain why you should never close (swipe up to close) iPhone or iPad apps in iOS 17. From now on, you'll never have to do it again! But there's one exception.. Check it out!

Will take me a long time to get used to this. I literally close them immediately when am done with them.
its make sense that we only close the apps that we are not using anymore.
Ah Okok , good to know. Thanks for the advice.
Thank you very much 😊
This was news to me. Great information. Is this the same for all iOS older devices then ? Like my 5th gen iPad mini ?
Apps in the background can still track you even if you choose not to track unless open. Otherwise they would not have to reload when you close and open again. Especially social media and tracking apps that have advertisements that is how they know what you have looked at say amazon you go after to Facebook or others and you see offers to related things.
Thanks dude
Thank you 👍👍👍
So should you close gaming apps after playing
Also have a question about closing tabs in Siri, Google, Bing etc. Ok to close these?
Thanks
What about games do you leave games open to?
Awesome, had this bad habit every since multitasking was introduced 😂 🤷🏻♂️
How about doing it when you rebooted your phone or updated all apps from app store?
Then when you want to go to a different tab you’ve got 50 open u have to look through idk
this also for ios 12?
i was not aware of this but i was so tense that if i close my whatsapp i didn't receive any message or call and sender or caller think i am offline...
is there any option that if i mistakenly close whatsapp it still notify me about message or call?
My question when I am chatting on line and go back to check email or else it kill it’s self I had to re do everything again what can be done
closing apps when youre not using its normal,
What if you're leaving social media apps open, Aren't they chewing thru data?
They can also track you when you leave them open with permission to run in the background. I make sure to turn all those background processes off and clear them
hi daniel how to contact you? please I really need your help😭😭
Excelente
What about apps that use location? Will it still be using location services even if the app is in the background or is that suspended also?
In my opinion I think they still do.
When you first open an app, ask you to track your location an you have 3 options. Always. Never and While using this app.If you choose the 3rd option, when you minimize the app, is stops working, so no. When an app is minimized in ios and iPados, it's inactive. If any app you minimize was active, the battery life of your phone, should drain too fast
Why are apps not opening or even crashing after app updates amid phone updates
interesting. im still going to close apps when im done tho
I don't agree. apps left open are using ram. which in turn slows the phone. I can't see how it would damage anything. your clearing the memory.
When you close your app and open it again
It has to RELOAD and this slows down your iPhone and drains its battery
Closing app is only for apps that don’t work properly
It doesn’t save battery or give faster performance
I always thought closing apps saves battery and faster performance
It’s the opposite
Let’s face it apple says a lot of things, however many tech heads disagree with apple and I’ve always closed out open apps! Every time and it works. I don’t see the point of keeping them open if I’m done with them. Plus it dose slow the phone everyone knows that..
It doesn’t make sense. I always close all mine a couple times a day. But it does make some logical sense to it. I would probably still close them at least once a day or every other day.
I get you point. But my question is: I only hear explanation on why you should close apps that are not responsive or malfunctioning but I was hoping you’ll point out all these in the Apple article.
Leaving an app open is like never turning your car engine off… sure, just leave it on in neutral, by the time you’re ready to drive it, you don’t need to turn it on… 😅
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Como
Not convinced even if Apple say so.
wow...interesting...totally opposite of what i been doing ever
It’s crazy to me that it gets logically explained, and people are still like "I don’t FEEL like that’s right I’m gonna do it anyways"
I've heard this from several sources and people just still trust there "gut" more 😂
Do open apps drain battery?
Not necessarily, just make sure you turn off Background App Refresh under your settings.
@@BigBoss9696 Exactly. The author of the video completely overlooked this very important detail.
My MacBook air m2 I forgot password , What should I do?, help me😢😢
Are you cooked
Im after contact with official Apple support. They said in newer iphones i better to close apps, because apps uses battery and processor power. But maybe You know it better🤷♂️
lol. I’m sure they *only make it hard to close the apps bc it’s what is best for your phone AND not bc open apps allow constant tracking.
Wrong!!! Apple told me to CLOSE ALL Apps.
Was it when they were troubleshooting a problem though?
Well, this is wrong and you can’t change my mind. Because, I use certain apps all the time, when I open them they use facial recognition to open. If I leave the apps and then try to use them again I have to INPUT MY CREDENTIALS manually. The only way to make it easier is to swipe to close so that the app reloads from the start. Thus, this recommendation is not helpful at all.
I only close apps I know im not gonna go back to in a while
Here after watching the grandma video in which she has a hundred app open and her phone is so slow so her relative is having to close apps 1 by 1. Yeah every single app you keep open makes the phone a bit slower because the ram it takes away.
If apps never run while in the background, why is there a setting for “Background App Refresh”? Moreover, why do those apps update their data while in the background if they aren’t running? I think you’re not telling the full story which gives your viewers misleading information. If you want to be accurate, you should tell your viewers that they must change “Background App Refresh” to OFF in either the General settings or in the settings for the individual apps to prevent them from running in the background.
Plus, some apps may be responsive, but not run correctly, requiring that they be closed and reopen to correct. I also close certain apps just before installing an update on them. I know I can leave them open during the update, but either way they will reload after the update so closing them does not change the battery usage and I prefer to not run the risk, no matter how small, of corrupting any data files during the process.
Apple told me over the phone to close the apps 🤷♀️
Same they told me to close the apps that I don’t use
@@olaaabdulllah1879 on iOS 17 or older versions?
Your battery info is on the money, but the accuracy on this one has piled in 😑
It’s no different to a Mac or really any computer.
To much crud open slows everything down considerably.
Close everything off that you aren’t actively using for the best performance always.
To much apps open in ram forces them to reload.
You might as well be opening them from scratch.
When they start reloading you know you are using significant ram.
they want to track you
I notice that when I close the apps / restart phone before bed, there is almost no battery drain. Whereas, if there are apps in the background, there is 3-5% battery drain overnight. Anyone else get this?
yes, me too

Apps left open can track your info in the background. Don’t be fooled by this guys ADVICE, HE KNOWS NOT OF WHAT HE SPEAKS.
Android made all clear button first thats why apple cant copy android😀 and also apple doesn’t have better alternative 😂
Nah, this guy is talking rubbish.
🤣😂
Naw, but nice try, Apple.
I'm not at all convinced. That reasoning doesn't make any
sense ...
